Thanks for the clarifications on The Martian. Good to know that it won't just give a copy of the regular version. But does the iTunes version give all or most of the same features, like commentaries and documentaries/whichevers from the new blu-ray as well? Usually, lately, Fox is so great about that. Just trying to decide if I want to get it on iTunes soon, or wait for the blu-ray to be, like, closer to ten or twelve dollars.

And that's cool to hear about Independence Day getting tons of iTunes Extras. I'm thinking about getting it, but here's something to consider: New copies of the blu-ray are only like $10, and seem to include "movie money" for the upcoming sequel. So… that's like $7.50 off a movie ticket, and it [very well should] come with the digital copy code for you to use or sell off. Just a tip if you also collect blu-rays like I do.

Independence Day bluray comes with a code. that's how I have my iTunes version.
so, if you wanna sell the other digital copy or just have the bluray, that is a great deal.

Also, Fandango has Independence Day for FREE...ports to VUDU. or one of those UV providers. I don't really use UV.

I've got some Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 ($3) and Cloverfield Lane ($2) iTunes codes up for grabs if anyone's interested.

So I've been slowly expanding my iTunes library and now my Vudu lead is only 472 Vudu vs 315 iTunes. Although it is much easier and quicker to build a Vudu library with D2D, I feel a lot more satisfied having a large iTunes collection in iCloud. Most of the collection comes from Universal and Paramount. Unfortunately Sony and WB leaves a gaping hole in my collection since I don't want to spend money on movies anymore, just codes.

Aw c'mon - don't diss Vudu ;-)

I just loaded another 13 today and I'm up to 1,037 in my library. It amazes me how many good movies I haven't seen (I really need to get out more clearly).

Has anyone bought from gpmoviecodes.com they have some pretty good deals on itunes disney but I haven't used a tictail store before. Has anyone else?
It's legit, but be careful. Since Disney changed their codes to be single redeem, people have found a backdoor way of still getting dual redeems to Google. If they discover these codes being used multiple times, rumor has it they could/will suspend accounts that have used those codes.

Any website where I can buy (and later redeem) codes outside the US?
Probably not considering it's pretty much only the US that still have iTunes codes with their movies.
Unless your after Ultraviolet then there's at least one I know of.

Beauty and the Beast is confirmed as the next Walt Disney Signature Collection. No more $25 prices. So glad I waited.

I'm with you there. 3 hours to try and explain a movie that should've done it in 30mins. If the Dvd/BD doesn't come with a code. Then the only way I am buying it is with a discounted iTunes gift card.

When it's like the same price as a blu-ray copy, I usually go with that option. Vudu says that it includes bonus features as well, so if you use a UV library then I guess you're not missing anything if you buy a code from someone?
I'm personally waiting until I might find the blu-ray for under $10 some day -- (maybe) -- because it's such a stupidly bad movie but I enjoy it anyway.

iTunes lists extras at 2 hours.
For me, the only extra in Vudu is the 21 min Featurette.

Yeah, movie wasn't great, but still enjoyed it. Looking forward to the extended version.

Ooohkay. I only saw the message "+Bonus Features" on Vudu and assumed that meant they'd be the same as on other formats since they're selling it for the same price. (Yikes)
And yes! I really am looking forward to seeing the extended version, as well. I forgot about that and maybe it'll be enough of an improvement to have me wanting to own it sooner.

Yeah, as far as bonuses go.....it usually goes like this:

BluRay has the most
iTunes has a bunch
Vudu usually has next to none, especially if redeeming a code.

Generally with Vudu, you would only get extras if you purchase the digital copy from Vudu. Codes give the movie only. If it's DMA, you'll always get extras in the DMA app...and usually iTunes.

Typically I don't care about the extras. Most hit YouTube sooner or later anyway. For BvS I got the preorder code for $10 and was able to sell the Flixster version for $5. That got me both versions. I have heard decent things about extended....so excited to see that.

So the Shield TV updated to 3.2 yesterday and it included the Vudu app, which now means that UHD/4K films can now be watched on the device.

My Apple TV has been relegated to the bedroom now unfortunately - haven't turned it on in weeks either.

I'll give you $50 for it.

This seems very unlikely since people have been splitting disney codes for the last 8 years and no one has lost their accounts over it.

Haha, I remember how earlier in the thread, you were pretty much iTunes only. Funny how people change. I wonder if this is the reason why UV seems to be 10 times more popular on the Google groups.

I wouldn't say I've changed-the majority of my films are in iTunes still. Just that I have a 4K TV and want to take advantage of that.

I've been tempted to buy digital iTunes codes, but have been hesitant for a couple of reasons:
- How do transactions work on Google Hangout? Are sellers generally trustworthy? How do I keep from getting played? How do I pay?
- Are the plethora of digital code stores trustworthy? Is there a go-to store that you like?
