BSE has said to me that they tried to balance precision cutouts with having an allowance for application so the majority of people can put their skin on easily and error free. I can attest that is definitely the case. If you lineup the camera/flash cutouts up top and the lightning port on the bottom the rest falls into place and fits well. I had no trouble with their corners either. For friends that want a good looking skin and haven't put one on before I recommend BSE for that reason.

That's PR speak for: we didn't want to bother with precise cutouts.

To be honest, I hated the precise cuts on the Slick wraps and would've wished for more room for error. It was impossible for me to install them and I tried twice since they sent me two wraps. The precise cut outs make it hard for a lot of customers to install. I think the BSE cut outs are just fine.

With CAD and laser cutting I think they all could be extremely precise but without slight cutout accommodation it can make application difficult to nearly impossible. I had to cut my Slickwraps second wrap because the first and second both had corner wraps slightly too long that caused overlap.

I made my own clear iPhone skin, seems to work fine. Just use a roll of clear non-textured book wrap, print out an iPhone decal template, transfer the outline to the paper on the book wrap, cut it out and cut the camera/button openings, then carefully apply to the iPhone.

Alternatively, you can take a cheap £1 clear iPad screen protector and use a crafting knife to cut it to the iPhone casing size (4.7" iPhone 7 users can even use a 6 Plus/6s Plus/7 Plus screen protector cut to size).

Just took off The BSE clear skin. It left a lot of sticky residue on my Jet Black. I'm still cleaning it with alcohol wipes. The slickwrap came off cleaner but I didn't have it on as long as thE BSE. I will be putting on my 3rd skin this weekend the ArmorSuit. 9.99 on amazon.
I will see how it looks compared to the BSE and Slickwrap. Then buy a few of the one I like the best.

Anyone know of a seller that has a regular protector for the back of the phone that's case friendly? I'm thinking something that doesn't require water application. Just adhesive and getting it right the first time.

I applied a BSE on my girlfriends jet black and it looks good. It was the first skin I had applied in like 6 years so it took forever and I'm certain I could do a better job if I did it again.

Then I applied a Slickwraps Naked on my jet black 7 plus and the corner flaps overlapped the top and bottom folded part and if I forced it to not over lap then it creased. I tried heating the corners over an over but couldn't get a good fit. I tore that wrap off and tried the second wrap in the pack and the corner pieces were still too long. I took out some very sharp scissors and cut the absolutely tiniest piece off and that solved the over lap problem. However, either from the cut or possibly just the fit, the seam of the corners are still visible to me. I'm not sure that I'm annoyed enough to try again but if the corners start to peel up at all then I will. If I hand my phone to someone to look at they don't notice a skin at all unless I say look at the corners. Besides the corners, I like the cutouts and precision of the Slickwraps over the BSE.

That's been my experience thus far. Not a single micro scratch or anything on the phone but I only wipe it with the micro fiber cloth from my sunglasses before putting on the new skin and have not used it without a skin. The skin does a great job of not showing finger prints and smudges compared to the natural jet black finish.
But how does it FEEL?
I love the feeling of the jb finish, so nice and warm and super smooth. Is it different now?

Dont bother, I bought that one while waiting for my BSE to come in and it was a total waste of money. It's those some exact screen protectors you find on eBay or Amazon for like a dollar. Tried my best to get a perfect install but the thing is just a dust magnet once you finally get it applied. Finally got it the way that I liked it on the third try but still some dust spots on the corners of the protector.

Was able to finally do a clean install on my BSE. To those who are more inclined to have a third party install for you, I suggest Best Buy, my mom brought her phone in to have them install, she had to pay about 10 dollars(CAD) though.

Can you post some detailed pics of the armor suit around the speakers, switches, camera, etc?

Crazy I did not know you could take bestbuy a skin to install. So you took them the BSE and said can you install this? Or bought from them in store?

I am not sure if they have this service in US but in Canada they do skin installations. The technician was hesitant about doing it for me because they never had skins that cover the sides, but I told him to go ahead since it can't possibly be worse than me installing it myself. He did an exceptional job on my moms phone, not even a single air bubble anywhere. I definitely suggest calling your local store to see if they would be willing to do it.

Looks good, man! Thanks for the pics!
Thanks. It's all about the installer. I must say that I've gotten better and the the Armor Suit was the easiest to install. I was able to move the skin around and adjust it. With out it drying to fast and sticking.

This is my Matte Black with Nano State Alien Skin, looks awesome. What I liked about it is that the keys are open so the fitting was much easier as it gave me some room to play with. Price difference between Alien Skin and BSE is a lot though, but I have to admit I think it's worth it even though the delivery took a long time.

Would someone who has installed BSE be able to tell how the edges feel.
I haven't installed these for a few years and the edges used to bother me everytime.

The edges feel smooth but grippy. The only problem I have is when putting on a case it pulls on the edges peeling back the skin. The Apple case is the best to use with a skin in my opinion.

Hey you're in BC right? How long did BSE take to get to you? I'm in AB and they shipped mine Oct 3.
