Unfortunately, not really. UPS still hasn't said anything.
I would have thought UPS has made their decision by now. :( If possible, you might want to contact them, and get more information if possible.

This seems a little strange to me.

Good luck. :)

I have a few friends that never got anything from UPS even though they lost or damaged their goods.

Try to get them to answer ASAP.

As much as I hate to say this, the seller could get the $1000 check and just keep it and say UPS never got back to him...

Hmm yeah, he could. But he seems very trustful. But that may be just me. I hope I'm right... I just really need some money to get a monitor. A Mac Pro is no good with a 17" 5 year old CRT...

Which is why I suggested making contact with UPS directly. ;)

I've been raked over the coals one time too many, and have lost my faith in people (strangers) when it comes to $$$. :(

Hopefully, the seller truly is trustworthy, and my experiences weren't common. :)

Yeah, but last time I tried to call UPS they told me to get in contact with the seller and that they couldn't tell me anything. :(

Small update: Not much is going on right now, here's the latest message from the seller:

Still nothing. I've been on the phone with them several times over the last week and they keep assuring me something will be coming in the mail. I'm going to be on the road for the next 5 days, and I'll follow up with you when I get back.

I'm going to try calling UPS today (if I can find the phone number) and just see if they will talk to me. Looks like a waiting game now.

Try 800 directory assistance. 1(800)555-1212 (it should be free to you). You may have to obtain other phone numbers from UPS, but I would at least recommend trying. :)

Unfortunately, I'd be seriously concerned UPS is just stalling indefinitely. Just a tactic to make you and the seller give up, rather than an give an outright "NO". Much like the many unsent Mail In Rebate's I've applied for, obtained confirmation, and never received. :(

I truly hope I'm wrong though.

Good luck. :D

Anyway....OP, try 1-800-833-9943 for UPS

It keeps asking for an "info notice" number... Does anyone know the damage center number? That's where the phone message was left for me originally, with the extension and phone number of their Damage center. It's not on UPS' site anywhere, and I accidentally deleted the message.

I'm not sure, but you might be able to get there starting with this:
1-800-742-5877

Alright. Just talked to UPS. I told them that the seller wanted me to contact them since he's out of town (sort of a lie), and they told me that the claim has been closed for a while and should have been honored. They told me to get in contact with the seller and have the seller contact them to see why he didn't receive anything. This doesn't look good.

Ouch! :(

I didn't think it would take that long. You need to get in touch with him ASAP. More information from UPS might be in order as well. Particularly anything resembling a payment confirmation.

See what happens first, but you may have to pursue other options if you wish to continue.

Good luck, and I hope that he honors his original claim to rectify the situation. :)
