Been reading most of this thread- is it better to order on Click Clack or Alibaba? I have no experience with either, read many say Click Clack is defective panels, but how do you know who to order on Ali from? Whole thing is a bit unique lol
I believe the manufacturer is Guangdong Kuyouke Display Technology Company Limited.

If you can speak/write english, you can also order on Alibaba. Was for me also the 1st time and after all it was easy!

what seller & price did you pay? is click clack using refurbished panels or is there a difference in alibaba or another retailer?
These small companies have poor QA IMO. If you're lucky enough to get a good panel, then great, but the chances of getting a lemon are higher than if you're buying an Apple monitor, not surprisingly.

Isn't Click Clack just a reseller? I don't think Click Clack actually makes anything. BTW, I note that most of the Alibaba entries from the manufacturers for stuff like this have options for drop shipping direct to customers. ie. I'm not saying this is Click Clack, but some online resellers just order from the factory and ship it to you from the factory when they get your order, using the manufacturer's drop shipping.

Alibaba I was able to get extreme savings pm me if you can do that here. Waiting for it to arrive soon. I also just don't trust ClickClack at all for the whole year last year they had insane quality control issues and completely messed up the companies image for a lot of people willing to buy.

As mentioned, I don't think Click Clack actually makes anything. They are just resellers. If people are getting bad units, most likely the blame is on Kuycon. Remember Click Clack isn't even rebranding them, as they are still Kuycon branded.

Blaming Click Clack for bad monitors is like blaming Best Buy for bad monitors. I'm ignoring Insignia for the moment. ;)

Alibaba is source. I would not pay Kuycon.us or Click Clack also due to them seeming to have higher prices they do offer discounts from time to time but Click Clack was even up until this past month selling a G27X for like $300 more than Alibaba before calculating even shipping. I also forgot to say I am in the US.

I also have heard that they may likely be drop shippers. The complaints I have seen and if the user also checks when it comes to QA over the past year mainly came from ClickClack though and getting a resolution. Not to say that Alibaba Kuycon didn't have complaints on ones they shipped but whenever I saw comments about them on reddit, YouTube, and macrumors the user usually updates saying they got a positive result.

I do highly recommend due to that they order from Alibaba but also they pay with PayPal. I think the shipping time for both is also similar.

BTW, it would seem that Kuycon doesn't make the chassis either. I just ordered a height adjustable aluminum universal VESA stand from Alibaba which is the same as the Kuycon universal stand that Click Clack sells.

There are several different companies that use the same chassis and stands, although with some differences. The company I ordered from sells a bazillion types of monitor mounts, including ones identical to the Kuycon stands and many that are similar but not the same. However, I don't think they make the chassis and stands either, since the company has less than 50 people and revenue of less than $5 million per year. Interestingly though, they will drop ship this stand for e-sellers. I wonder if they're dropshipping from their own stock or from the actual manufacturer, assuming they aren't the manufacturer. Kuycon is also quite a small company, with less than 100 employees, and somewhere at the lower end of double digit millions of $ of annual revenue.

That's very interesting actually. If you're able to find an actual manufacturer I would love to be updated because I do see a lot of similar displays on Alibaba. This one just now has the most reviews and purchases from YouTubers now. I would definitely be willing to buy from source to save though these tariffs and shipping cost are getting out of control and the lower I can get for the same quality the better.

You didn’t read that (about Click Clack selling defective panels) in this thread. That was a false rumor started by an unauthorized reseller who is now banned from Reddit.

Alibaba.com (NOT AliExpress) sells factory direct.

Here is the current WikiPost. Prices may be out of date.

Kuycon.us and Kuycon.co are *NOT* an authorized reseller. This is discussed in detail more than once above in this thread.

The only legitimate resellers of Kuycon products are listed in my post above. Any of them will work well.

Got my monitor from clickClack and no issues. Monitor is perfect. ClickClack is an authorized dealer for Kuycon.

Yes I am aware of this. I named the two sellers most people outside the site see for american shipping. Thank you for clarifying about the Kuycon sites though I probably should have but I mistakenly did not as I did not plan on recommending them.

Not saying they were not authorized or all monitors are bad like I was discussing with the user above I was saying from what I saw when users post about having issues with the monitor Alibaba has been the most frequent to have a user come back and say they were happy with the response.

I should add also though not sure about Click Clack I heard when repairs are needed it must be sent back to China not them. Cannot confirm as I did not purchase from them I would double check. Alibaba does require this so get in writing from store that they cover a certain period of time in regards to shipping it back for warranty.

I’ve been meaning to write something on how best to navigate Taobao and handle their security measures if you don’t read Chinese, but to do it right will take some time that I don’t have at the moment. I’ve used it a lot in the past to buy Chinese books, but not recently.

One thing that struck me about the Kuycon monitors is how come they have a glossy glass front panel, when they appear to be using the same panel as the matte one used by Dell?

If you look at the bottom of the AliBaba Kuycon page for company information, there is an interesting video showing the manufacturing assembly and testing processes...

This shows the pronunciation of Kuycon as 'Kuyouke', like the company name. 😯
And shows the glass being applied to the front.

Also it shows the video board assembly for the 27" monitor (unfortunately back view only).
However you can tell that it is a bespoke PCB layout, created purely for the Kuycon monitor, so they seem to be commissioning the design of the parts they need.

In the company profile they describe themselves as an ODM, original design manufacturer, also selling items to be rebranded by someone else.

Just ask yourself the following question:

Who claims that Kuycon uses the same panel for the G32P as in the Dell UltraSharp U3224KBA? Are these “just” users or are they company officials?

IMHO, this massive misunderstanding (which is also common with many other monitor models) is based solely on the resolution of 6144x3456 pixels on 31.5". With other 6K monitors with a different resolution (namely 6016 × 3384), people no longer say that it is the same panel!

But just because a panel uses the same resolution and has the same diagonal size, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the same panel. It could be a variation (such as matte vs. glossy).

But thanks for the link to the video :D I didn't know about that. It's so nice to see where my “baby” was born ;)

ClickClack and Kuycon both say Kuycon is using IPS Black panels. That's LG terminology. In fact, ClickClack specifically says it's a NanoIPS Black panel, which is LG branding. Furthermore, it also has the exact same specs.

There may be some variants, but all signs point to it being the same panel line.

Note there IS a different panel being used from AUO in a different model, the G32X. It doesn't seem to be as commonly advertised though, and has different specs, including a different resolution.

Quote @Dark-Signature: “With other 6K monitors with a different resolution (namely 6016 × 3384), people no longer say that it is the same panel!"

6144x3456 is the expected resolution for 6K.

Apple introduced their 6016x3384 Pro XDR Display resolution because that reduced the bandwidth to just under 40Gbps, so that they could use a dual-stream mode protocol with TB3 to drive the monitor - with the 2019 Mac Pro, as DSC wasn’t introduced at that time.
This corresponds to UBR10.

The 6144x3456 resolution requires more than TB3 could provide without DSC - and needs UBR13.5.

So 6016x3384 monitors are focused on compatibility with the Mac ecosystem - which may carry an ‘Apple Tax’. 😉

OK, so I've tried TB5 and DP 2.1 cable as well as changing the OSD to 2.1. Nothing seemed to enable the HDR option in macOS for me. I'm reverting back to the TB4 cable at this point. In conclusion, I believe my M1 Max Mac Studio simply isn't capable of this.
Using TB5 I had to change the Monitor menu under misc in the USB-C rate line to 80 then the HDR option appeared in the Mac display menu

I guess it depends on where you are. It's ¥11881 with stand at Alibaba for us in Canada, plus another ¥453 shipping.

I can't seem to access Taobao at all.
I accessed Taoboa through firefox. You can then use an extension to translate every page.

From how far I got you have a couple options for paying you can usually only have it shipped to you if you live in the country. Outside of that you need a Freight Forwarding company to do it for you. They will give you their warehouse address and you can purchase through taobao and they will send it there. Or they also allow you to purchase through them and they just start handling it from there they will take pictures of the product and videos if requested for a small additional fee (in comparison to USD). You can also ask they repackage for shipping if fragile. Doing this you kind of skip out on fees attached to taobao for being a foreigner as the forwarder is chinese based and they pay for you. I was also recommended to start a wise account to reduce foreign transaction fees which is supposed to be reliable and backed by or supported by the US and UK (don't quote me after backed by double check) but it works with most all currencies.

I will say they can save you so much more than either of the other sellers of Kuycon I have seen so far unless you negotiate with Alibaba. They also have the most reviews and pictures to go with it. They do not offer english version yet only Malaysia I believe they said. If you can navigate everything knowing that you have to have it translated I would highly recommend. Look up reliable freight forwarders though some may or may not be doing stuff to reduce prices that could lead to your product being confiscated or arriving to you free of country to country fees if you know what I mean. Super Buy is the most highly recommended to me.

I added some information above. I spent days chronically trying to get into Taobao and get a Kuycon like a psycho lol. I found out that Firefox with the TWP extension works the best. Their security measures as you were hinting at escape cameras so you cant translate that way some how. I would after signing up login on the app. Once you do that there is a scan button on the search bar you can scan the qr code to login from then on so you dont have to deal with security.

If I missed anything you wanted to know more on let me know I can either tell you or find out I know you said you don't have alot of time but it could help alot of people so I don't mind providing information you can then easily just fact check rather than research yourself.
