So just an update, I just received my leather case from Decoded and I wasn’t charged an extra tariff or duty or anything like that on top of the shipping for those worried about that. I’m in the US, your situation may be different in another country.

Buttons are very clicky and responsive, maybe even more than Apple’s leather cases

Yes, I'm also using a Decoded for the 15 PM. Quick shipping and great item. Also have the Lonli Edition ($25) which is very nice, but the buttons are a bit stiffer. Does have the action button. Great deal for that price, the Lonli.

is the decoded one thinner than the lonli case?
thanks

I can't tell. It's good. Doesn't seem thick. It sticks to my Anker MagSafe stand just like the Apple case. I say go for it, you won't be disappointed. Mind you, these are simply a replacement of the nice Apple leather case I used for years. The Decoded fits the bill. Only thing different is the new action button, I think. Like I said, the Lonli has stiffer buttons than the Apple, so it's noticeable. That may change. I think these are all rushed to market. Decoded did a great job though.

Frankly, it's strange I have to go to these lengths. Apple has cases now with either fuzzy or sticky textures. Smooth is gone. I don't need leather, but I prefer a smooth surface. Not too much to ask for. Pleather/TPU would be fine. I'm sure there're dozens on Amazon but with leather you pretty much know what the texture is, as long as it's not suede.

I do also have a very nice silicone case I may use sometimes, that I got on Amazon for $9 dollars. It's perfect, but silicon. $9. Probably better than Apple's, btw.

Which one of them is thinner, is there a difference?

My only complaint about the decoded case is that the magnet is kind of weak
I think my decoded case is lost somewhere...I ordered it more than 1 week ago and I have no updates...I'll see...
On the other hand, can you post some photos with the Decoded on the phone? I want to see if the edges are thick and if the lip is higher than on the old Apple's one. If that's the case maybe I'll just cancel the order and search for another leather case.

The lip doesn’t seem that high, but I have a glass screen protector so that raises the screen a bit-

Looks nice! Any pics from the back please?

I’m so glad I got the black case, it looks great with the natural titanium from the camera bump. I wish the decoded branding wasn’t there, but you don’t notice it that much. Overall, very nice case, very close to Apple’s official cases.

My only complaint is a minor one, but I don’t like how the inside of the case looks. But you don’t see it when you’re using it obviously lol

That looks great, thanks for sharing pics! How does it compare in size to the apple leather cases from last year?
I’m coming from a 12 Pro Max which is a little thinner, so I can’t really compare to my case, but I put it side by side with my parent’s iPhone 14 Pro Max with leather case and it was practically the same thickness. I don’t know if this will make sense, but the decoded case seems a little less “oily” or “greasy” than the Apple leather cases. Maybe it’s just because it’s new. I’m sure it’ll capture the oils from my skin over time though.

That’s interesting, so it’s more of a smoother feel? It’s crazy the hoops everyone’s having to jump through to find a good leather case

I bought the Mujjo leather case, but not especially happy with it. The leather has an odd texture, it seems a little thicker than apple’s leather case, the buttons are metal but don’t have rounded off edges so they feel sharp, and the leather surrounding the buttons is oddly raised (as others have documented).

I’m back to square one, considering the Ryan London case but don’t know how that compares with regards to thickness. Andar isn’t shipping until November. I might need to take a look at the Decoded

Andar is worth the wait. I ordered a bunch including the Mujjo and as you said the leather was weird and smelled of chemicals. I doubted it was actually full grain leather.

The andar is thicker but that is because it’s really full grain leather. It’s made better than apple’s leather cases. But they feel very nice.

I have the cutout version for now but preordered the action button version. I like it that much.

I’d love to know what their response is pls.
Here is the response I got from Alto support so apparently they are not going to change the speaker cutouts. Pretty disappointing.

“The reason we enlarged the openings on our phone cases is to accommodate the use of our strap and Phone Lanyards Connector.

So, the larger openings won't pose any problems when using them. No need to worry!

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Best Regards,
Andrew

Bellroy has a statement on their website about releasing a second batch in November with a solution for the cutout.

This is intriguing as the case looks great and as comparatively thin as Apple’s previous leather cases.
Where did you see this?

That’s a shame, I’m not convinced they need to be that big and rectangular for that purpose.

Does it appear that the branding could be removed? I just hate it there. The rest of the case looks great.

regarding decoded leather on 15 PM. I have the black case, and the feel of the material and buttons are good. However, it adds a some bulk to the phone, I guess this applies to any brand leather case. The front "lip" is also quite significant, will probably be fine if a screen protector is used. Anyway, this made me go back to thin case such as banks and Pitaka. Again, the decoded case itself is superb quality and OK priced.

Has anyone had the Andar and the Decoded side by side?
I REALLY like the feel of the Andar. But if the Decoded has the same leather feel and is a bit slimmer I would like that better.
The only reason I don’t order it and try it is I don’t want the hassle of returning from the US to overseas.

Nobody tried the Wiiuka leather cases?

Are they not available in US?

Yeah I’m up in the air about returning it. Seems like a dumb design. If only there was a magnet on the phone you could attach the strap to instead of blocking the speaker.

I just received this "leather" case from eBay and am wondering- does anyone with experience on these Chinese cases know if this is real leather or cactus leather or just synthetic?

I'm kind of hoping it's not real leather as I like it as it is and wouldn't want it to age or patina, I'd be fine if it's synthetic. Thanks.
