If I get a locked AT&T iPhone exchanged will I still get it replaced with an AWS one as well? Or do I have to get the phone unlocked first before getting it replaced?

You will most likely get the aws version unless your local apple store isn't very popular because they must use there old not aws iPhone 5 first then the new shipments will most likely have aws

Hmm I have no idea how popular the store is :p

They told me that they're eligible for upgrade in August (I believe). Do you guys think that new AppleCare plan would have been rolled out by then?

I don't mind waiting until then but with the new news of the AppleCare I feel kinda paranoid I might not have the chance to get it swapped.

The one that I went to yesterday you are right I called apple and he left a note to replace it

You need to change your cellular data apn to epc.tmobile.com and LTE optional apn to fast.t-mobile.com for the fastest possible speeds.

I just got a white ATT 32gb replaced for a power button issue. The replacement I received was AWS, NE489LL/A , FH1F, 6.1.3 ios,

I tried those APN settings today on LTE and I could not get data to work. I had to reset the APNs back to the default in order for them to work.

Is LTE working for everyone else with the above settings?

I just picked up the sixty four gig tmobile sim iPhone 5 at apple store.

How do I know if it has hd voice? Everything is working great. I just don't know of it has hd voice since I don't have any friends who have the new iPhone on tmobile.

Is yours a replacement phone and what firmware version is installed on it?

New phone. I verified it is the tmobile phone but can't confirm whether it has hd voice or not.

Thx!

I've read about HD voice and didn't know if it worked or how it sounded until I spoke to a friend today who just picked up a Galaxy 4 on tmo. I'm on tmo also with tmo's ip5. I instantly picked up the clarity and I've never heard anything like it before. The best description I can give is its like having the person right in front of you with super clear reception. Like 3D for your ears lol.

So today I swapped my 64GB White ip5 that I purchased unlocked from Apple Canada. The replacement I got is also unlocked and it says A1428 on the back. However, the serial number ends with F38Y. So I guess I do not have AWS?

Any unlocked iPhone 5 on the T-Mobile network supports HD voice if you are using the latest carrier update. It requires the other person to be using T-Mobile with a HD Voice compatible phone as well.

64GB White (AT&T) - F38Y

That serial looks like it's an AT&T model.
