They'll announce new click wheel iPods - with OLEDs screens, bluetooth, wifi (for Apple Music) and flash memory. Our tinniest, fastest iPods ever, focused on music and video not feeding narcissism social media addictions

Oh are we talking about actual predictions?

I don't understand why people buy cases, period ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I take my phone, hiking, rock climbing, running.. I use it in at work (hospital) with slippery hands and tile floors, I use it in my barns/garage around dirt and tools. I throw it in my backpack and drop the backpack. I would have broken my phone weekly if I didn't have a case.

Another reason is that the 13 is too square and feels like crap in the hand. It also doesn't lay flat, but then I lay my phone face down 99.9% of the time, which also isn't great without a case, or at least a screen protector.

Durability > aesthetics, all day, every day. The iPhone just kinda sucks without a case.

- Tim Cook announces iMessages on Windows

- Apple Car is unveiled with an end of the month release, available only outside of the US

- Apple replace USB-C and Lightning on all its devices with micro-USB

- The new U2 chip plays a song each time it is in close contact with another device

I was hoping they would go back to firewire, but I suppose micro-usb will suffice.

M3 iMacs would be great even though we seem to never get mac announcements at iPhone events

Refresh of the monitor line up. Studio Display Pro with ProMotion priced around $2.5K and an upgraded Pro Display XDR with ProMotion at $4K 😈

What about an apple car that flies. Every time you get inside an iPad on the dash has a video of Tim Cook welcoming you aboard and running through a safety demo.

‘To release, lift the flap on the buckle.’

I used to be in the boat of upgrading every year a few years back, and then it got to the point where the differences were not even upgrade worthy vs the price it cost to get the new one. Now I will be upgrading after almost 3 years of having the 12 Pro Max which is exhausted, and only now I feel like there is enough difference between the two to warrant an upgrade, and thats after three years worth of so called innovation. Overall though, Different colours, a few internal changes, a usb-c port, an action button isn't something exciting though.

Now see I just mentioned in the post above about how nautical this is all getting and you come right along with a boat 😂

Apple’s almost certainly going to announce a way to capture spatial photos and videos—in part to drive demand for a better way to view them on the Vision Pro. My guess is while this may come to all phones, it will almost certainly be included as a feature the Pro Max/Ultra model. (Perhaps launched via a new action button?!)

OK, I'll play.

The Ultra will be pre-announced for shipment midcycle. It will be a larger-format Pro with a camera system for taking 3d images and movies, for the benefit of people making content for the Vision Pro.

Also the "announcement" of TB5 is curiously timed. (In quotes, because it was announced months ago.) So perhaps the M3 will support it, and so will the A17 since they share so much silicon.

I think Tesla will be mentioned on stage, probably when talking about the U2 chip. The refreshed Model 3 which uses UWB seems too conveniently timed, and apparently they’re partnering with SpaceX for emergency satellite so they might be burying the hatchet.

Periscope zoom on the Pro Max will be impressive. 5X optical would be good, but 10X would be better. That feature would encourage picture-taking iPhone users to upgrade, and it would justify a USD 100 bump in price. The prices of other iPhone 15 models will stay the same.

Apple will tout USB-C's faster charging and data transfer speeds (instead of saying, "The EU made us do it.") Expect Apple to announce new USB-C accessories, including a Lightning-to-USB-C dongle. I don't know anyone would need such a dongle since most audio devices use Bluetooth. There are a few accessories that have Lightning plugs, like the Square magnetic strip reader for eCommerce.

As many newer musical instruments (like the Roland SP-404) output audio via USB-C these days, I wouldn’t be surprised to see an “influencer” saying how much easier it is to capture video in-synch with the audio quickly and easily. Or some such use case like that.

We'll hear some news on Vision Pro.

Another hot take: The changeover to USB-C isn't going to be as bad as people are making it out to be.

Last minute thoughts:

- Improved Portrait and Cinematic quality thanks to new Lidar component
- Improved photo and video editing with the ability to set directional lighting in post due to new ray tracing
- Improved scene detection and rendering through updated ML models, improved Neural Engine and additional RAM
- Expanded rollout of SOS capabilities
- Significantly improved battery life, and when combined with the massively improved cameras creates a Wonderlust
- ProRes bump on resolution and frame rate
- New Siri capabilities, including accessibility and safety features
- Improved Action Mode across all cameras
- Improved Center Stage experience when using Continuity Camera
- Next iteration of SmartHDR
- 1 additional GPU core on A17
- Improved MagSafe (stronger magnets, faster charging)
- Improved Find My with new Ultrawide sensor
- Action button‘s biggest focus will be on Shortcuts integration, but will also support launching apps, setting Focus modes, and opening deep links.

I also imagine we’ll see a new Wallet, replacing the leather offerings.

I’d also like to see a HyperFusion feature, which stitches together output from multiple cameras to create a larger, more detailed image (they briefly had this and then retired it with “Capture Outside Frame.”)

Also, I believe the finish isn’t going to look like all the prototypes. I suspect the colors will be roughly right, but wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something physical characteristic (e.g., a textured or matte finish) that it makes more distinguishable from the previous line .

My bold prediction is that we'll see nothing more than very incremental updates, beyond their "best ever, leading, most advanced ever" rhetoric. Basically we already know, it got leaked - a bit faster phone CPU, a bit better camera, a bit faster watch etc.

No redesign of anything, nothing foldable, no holograms, no distance charging, no round watch with a week battery life. Nothing to make one say wow. Everything stays more or less the same but slightly better and possibly a bit more expensive, some more emojis, watch bands, minor stuff.

Followed by slightly declining sales. Nothing earth shattering or surprising, just slow trends everywhere.
whats the point anymore?

Yes, I know this is a rumour site - but seems nowadays before any official announcement we know pretty much everything. Weve seen the phone, we know the specs.... it's very rare nowadays that Apple blindside us with something we weren't expecting.

10-15 years ago we had genuine surprises. Nowadays watching the keynote is just a confirmation.
That is because Apple as the world's largest tech firm has refined its marketing. Apple carefully leaks to generate buzz and to make sure consumers are not blindsided in some way that harms Apple.

I use my 13/14 iPhone Pros like that sans case. No substantive damage, just a few tiny dings that I do not care about. The face remains 100%.
