People who upgrade every year will be underwhelmed & dominate opinions here (yet still buy it) 😑

People who aren’t even interested in Apple products will sTroll in & make their ‘where’s the innovation?’ views known 😒

Sensible ones who will get a nice upgrade from their 2+ year old phones will keep comments to a minimum, leaving the majority of posts to consist of whines by those two groups above 😏

I feel like this will always be the case. It's a forest for the trees situation where we are so granular on MR that we don't see the overall leaps and bounds.
It's fun to go back on this forum to things that we now recognize were successes, to see how much people complained about them at the time. I think my favorite recurring themes are "Apple made a huge mistake in [not releasing specific product I wanted] and is doomed as a company" and "Apple's products are too expensive now and nobody is going to buy them".

My favorite specific one was “Apple will never release their own Mac processor because [something related to CISC,RISC, or Intel specifically]!”

Apple’s goal is always to find new people to buy their stuff. I think anyone that’s been buying Apple for a number of years and STILL finds themselves interested in buying Apple stuff today are fortunate. Because, Apple are definitely resetting their target demographic regularly.

Apple will drop “15” from the iPhone name and the lineup will be named:

iPhone (2023)
iPhone Plus (2023)
iPhone Pro (2023)
iPhone Ultra (2023)

Apple will stop using “Max” in their product names because it sounds silly.

Another option would be to go all in on dog names:

iPhone Puppy
iPhone Wolfie
iPhone Max
iPhone Beast

iPhone 15 Pro with stage manager when connected to a display via thunderbolt. Also, the iPhone itself transforms into a trackpad.

Clues: huge leap in A17 + thunderbolt connectivity + Stage Manager on iPad
THIS would warrant the price increase/ultra moniker to me. Such a cool concept, though I’ve heard stage manager isn’t great at the moment

A folding phone - but one that folds on command: "Siri fold!"

But with the usual mess that's Siri, we will get:

"It is cold, would you like me to turn up the temperature"

I wonder what the prominence of USB-C will be. Either gets mentioned a lot of times, in the style of 5G in 2020 event, or they will just show it and not make a big deal about it.

What do you think will happen?

15-20% increase in battery life, I’m erring on the 15% side
no price increase on base models, but PRO models will have $100 increase
2000 nits on non-pro models

Sadly, I doubt they'll go with the dog names, although that'd be pretty great.

I'd love it if they dropped the numbers and just went to the year. They should have done that after the X.

15 Pro Max starts at $1,199 this year 128GB. Ultra 2 new processor and lighter, cheaper build quality with same price. New iPad mini with new processor and Face ID. New pencil… Star of the show obviously the 15 Pro Max and pre orders start Friday. Supplies will be limited and constrained per usual each new release. Done on purpose to keep the hype train rolling.

I have no bold predictions, but I’m very excited because of the titanium, the camera upgrades, the colors and USB-C.

I think it’ll be a super solid upgrade.

I say that every year probably lol, but this year feels different!

Pro phones will have periscope lenses for BOTH back and front cameras/face-ID sensors, removing the need for a notch or cut-out of any kind on the front of the phone.

I’d like to see the iPhone rebranded. Apple stopped doing “i” devices years ago and apple phone, apple tablet while generic, would at least be different. Won’t happen though

All the wags said iPad would never fly as a product because everyone would associate it with feminine hygiene. The wags were wrong.
