When I had my S4 it worked perfectly with my Mac using Android File Transfer, maybe yours was just buggy? Nevertheless, I'd assume the G2 would work just fine with a Mac.
That's the beauty of Android; you can set your default apps.
As much as I love my iPhone 5S, I'm REALLY tempted to sell it and buy a G2. iOS 7 is amazing, but I also love Android. If it weren't for my Galaxy S4's constant lagging, crappy Touchwiz UI, and generally poor battery life, I would've have kept the device. After selling my S4 and upgrading to a 5S I was excited to he back on iOS, but now that I'm back I'm really missing the big screen of the S4 and the better camera (in my opinion). Yet, iOS apps are just so much better than those on Android. Even just the fact that nearly all iOS apps incorporate in-app browsers (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), make using the device so much better when compared to Android apps that do not usually include in-app browsers. That isn't even including overall smoothness of iOS apps compared to Android apps (scrolling through Twitter and Facebook on iOS is buttery smooth; on Android it's pretty laggy and you can see that it drops frames and sometimes freezes up).
Then again, battery life is still an issue for me. The 5S gets better battery life than my 5 did and sometimes even than my S4, but in the end, I still can't make it from 7am-5pm without having to plug it in once or twice. I'm a pretty heavy user, but on my S4 after flashing ROM after ROM, I finally was able to find one that gave me the best battery life and my best screen-on time was 4 hours or so. A lot of people on XDA are raving about the G2's battery and how they're easily getting 6.5-7 hours of screen-on time. That is INSANE. I would kill for battery life like that; and that, combined with the G2's beautiful display, is what's causing me to really consider getting one. Not to mention the fact that I'm seeing G2's on CL and eBay going for ~$400.
Can those who are using the G2 as their daily phone please post their screen on times? Most of you are only posting stand and usage times, but screen-on time is the best way to measure battery life IMO.
