Do you have the older model (27MD5KA) or the newer one (27MD5KL)? If it's the older model, it won't work with the Wacom Link Plus because it requires video to be input via Thunderbolt 3.27" 5k LG monitor,

What's the CDP2MDPMM1MB for?Hello! I've tried my best but need help.
I bought a Mac mini and the 27" 5k LG monitor, which I love together. Started a new job and provided with a Lenovo T14 laptop with a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U with Radeon Graphics 2.10 GHz. I picked up a Wacom plus and USB-C to mini-dp cable from Startech product CDP2MDPMM1MB in hopes of using the monitor with my laptop. Connected the USB-C to the monitor and Wacom, then the miniDP from the Wacom to the laptop and USB from the Wacom to a USB A of the laptop skipping use of the HDMI port of the Wacom altogether. Nothing but audio through the monitor.
Thanks in advice for any advice.
The laptop has no miniDP port so the Wacom miniDP port goes to a USB C on the laptop. That’s the Startech cable. What's the CDP2MDPMM1MB for?
Audio on the LG comes through the USB connection. You just need to fix the Mini DisplayPort input of the Wacom Link Plus now.
Doesn't the Lenovo T14 come with USB-C or Thunderbolt? Why do you need a Wacom Link Plus?
You can just connect the UltraFine to USB-C using the "normal" USB-C cable that comes with the monitor. No need for the Wacom Link Plus. The Lenovo has no Thunderbolt but does have USB C.
Yes, no point usingYou can just connect the UltraFine to USB-C using the "normal" USB-C cable that comes with the monitor. No need for the Wacom Link Plus.
Thank you very much!! Made my dayYou can just connect the UltraFine to USB-C using the "normal" USB-C cable that comes with the monitor. No need for the Wacom Link Plus.
But remember that you won't get 5K resolution, only 4KThank you very much!! Made my day
It remains to be tested (AFAIK) if the monitor will do 5K at 38 Hz. This is within its pixel clock limits when using an USB-C connection (about 600 MHz).But remember that you won't get 5K resolution, only 4K
As far as I know, only one person has tried it. I would like to see this success reproduced by others. It remains to be tested (AFAIK) if the monitor will do 5K at 38 Hz. This is within its pixel clock limits when using an USB-C connection (about 600 MHz).

I am using the one with the thunderbolt 3, not the normal type c, that’s the one I should use right?Do you have a normal USB-C cable to connect between the Wacom and the LG UltraFine 4K?
The LG UltraFine 4K comes with two cables - one is Thunderbolt and one is USB-C (not Thunderbolt).
Wacom Link Plus does not output Thunderbolt so use the USB-C (not Thunderbolt) cable.I am using the one with the thunderbolt 3, not the normal type c, that’s the one I should use right?
just tried that, not workingWacom Link Plus does not output Thunderbolt so use the USB-C (not Thunderbolt) cable.
