I'm really eager to read or hear how it performs as an actual phone. As I'm always saying, on AT&T my unlocked HTC 10 has been my gold standard for call clarity and strength. I'd love for my next phone to perform that well. My S8+ is actually less clear than my S7 Edge and S7. There's a bit more crackle noise on the connection when I call anyone than on my 2016 phones. Just a little bit, though. It's still a good phone.

Lol not too many! Lol every iPhone too
And you have no YouTube channel yet?

I have had a lot of phones since 2016 when I decided to try the Note 7, but not enough to launch my own YouTube channel, unfortunately. No internet stardom for me. :(

I wouldn't mind trying the V30. It looks like a great device. The only problem is if you want to use an annual upgrade program it's generally only on Apple and Samsung flagship phones. At least it's that way on Verizon. If you go with any other phone you have to pay it off 100% before you upgrade.

I saw a Korean article late last night that had the V30 announced by carriers over there, coming in at about 10% less than the Note8 in Korea.
So assuming that's the case in North America, that's about $840 USD and a ridiculous $1170 in Canada.

Ouch! I'd definitely wait for a deal. iPhones have good resale value so it's less painful paying for them. I think the world of my HTC 10 but unfortunately the world doesn't think so well of my HTC 10, so the trade in value on it even with HTC's own trade in program is almost nothing while a comparable Samsung still can land a decent discount and an iPhone fetches a more solid discount on the HTC site. LG seems right down there with the HTCs in depreciation almost as soon as you unpack them.

Definitely! I won't be an early adopter anymore for any device but I'll be more likely to wait (even if I don't want to) when buying a phone that can't be sold or traded easily.

I've got a lot of devices still so I'm not hurting but band 71 will be a priority once it deploys in San Antonio. Samsung and a few other manufacturers are rumoured to have devices coming with that band.

This might be a year that I don't settle on a phone and force patience.

So my initial excitement and want for this device has wained quite dramatically since the unveiling.
With the Note 8 being available this week and the iPhone X announcement Tuesday (which I am really looking forward to), this has almost got lost a bit now. For me.

If I knew if and when it was coming to Europe, I'd still be seriously considering it but at the moment I'm happy looking at other devices though chances are I will stick with what I've got for cost reasons.

But the iPhone X will likely be something I really really want to buy but can imagine it will be a nightmare to get hold of.

The V30 will be one of those devices that will likely be a bargain by January much like how the G6 dropped in price super quickly. I will likely just hold out for 12 weeks or so and buy one in the new year for less than €500 ....

Feeling the same way, excitement slowly fading away, as LG will need too much time to (as always) ship this thing.
Been very sure this will be my next device, but my desire is declining as there are other awesome phones announced AND released much earlier as the Note8 and MiMix2 for example.

Does seem odd to announce a phone and almost 2 weeks later still no availability dates.

If course. And now that the Note 8 is about to hit, and the iPhone will be announced tomorrow, whatever carrier real estate or mindshare LG could have gotten will be gone. As I stated in other threads, I've walked into carrier stores that didn't even bother putting the G6 on display. Same fate awaits the V30.

Good way to be. Also the only way to speak from a position of authority when it comes to understanding overall device experience and audio/visual/photography differences.

I've been saying this for years against certain trolls around here. Someone who is using the different devices can speak better to all their strengths and weaknesses.

Back on topic: I agree, what is up with LG delaying the deets about the V30? It got a strong initial impression, but they aren't capitalizing on the momentum.

That's good news, means I'll only pay $400 or so in a couple of months on swappa. Of course it's not good news long term for LG...

Well, that tends to be the truth for most Android devices. I'm pretty much a giant schmuck for getting a Note 8 at release when it's going to be much cheaper in just a few months. But I guess that's need-it-now-tax.
