Me thinks you've heard those words before?
:D:D:D Yeah from my dad! My husband wouldn't dare! :p My mom and dad are used to me weighing 82-84 pounds most of my life, on a 5'2" frame. I weighed that little until I was about 40. 45 hit and pounds creeped on and I'm 130-135 lbs now and I never ever hear the end of it about my end now. My mom, both of my grandmothers were gorgeous beauty queen types even through middle age and I so am NOT, so that makes my life extra challenging, being endlessly compared to what my genetics should have made of me. Fortunately, my dad wisely advised me to develop my sense of humor as a child and that has served me better than a pretty face and perfect figure ever could have.

When I had precancerous lesions in my digestive tract I dropped down to 118 and my dad was so thrilled, because he didn't know I was sick. When he found out why, though, he was like "Eat moar donuts!" But now he's "go exercise." Which I do. I love completing my activity rings. It helps me visualize my fitness goals in a way that step counting can't. But when my Watch tells me to "Breathe" I inhale chocolate truffles instead. I don't think that's what Tim Cook has in mind, but it works for me. I've never been happier and more at peace with the universe. :)

I am sure you were the gorgeous beauty queen of the family! It's funny how we go through body changes through our aging process. The our family still sees as as we once were long long ago!

I was really underweight all of my life. I was 6'2 155 when I graduated from high school. I had to go to the gym and lift weights just to GAIN weight!!! Now in my 50s I am 6'2 and 195 and 12% body fat and a gym rat!
When i go to my moms for dinner (she is 83) she still trys to get me to eat seconds and thirds. Tells me I need to eat more!

6'2 and 155! Wow. Yeah we had skinny youths! Or is it better to say we were skinny youths! I lifted weights in high school through college and a little bit up to age 30, also to give myself some shape and more importantly, strength. Bullies always got such a surprise when they tried to push me around! I wish I had kept up with it. I really didn't need to, but now may be the time to start a very light regimen.

I actually have no concept of my looks. Being mixed race, I heard many insulting things that were possibly due more to my race than my actual looks being particularly horrible. But I also heard nice things from nice people wanting to make up for the nastiness they heard directed toward me. I like to make self deprecating jokes and I'm a tomboy anyway, so looks matter to me very little compared to health and comfort. I was always able to attract the friends I wanted to attract and avoid the people I wanted to avoid and I think that's the best measure of my self rather than anything an arbitrary compliment or insult could tell me. I'm not scaring small children, so I will take that as a good sign. :D

Appreciate it. Think the V30 might be a bit out of my size range, but might be worth waiting to hold it before committing to the S8 (or S8 Active)
Oh the S8 Active is a thing of beauty this time around! Ooooooooo:) It wasn't as bulky as I was expecting. I don't think it can fit in the Gear VR though. I'm not sure.

How is the software support of LG actually? I'm considering this over my iPhone, but I would like to have a good software support (patch and updates...). Thank you!

Mediocre .... Infrequent and OS revision updates protracted.

Like many Android OEMs the only way to get latest patches and OS updates / revisions without too much delay is going Google device.

Thank you for the reply.

Well, this is according to me very bad and does not bring me to buy the phone!

Trust me I wouldn't dare go to LG if I was you. Just don't put yourself through it. I have had 4 LG devices under my ownship but they were never my main device. From the G3, V10, G5 and V20...these devices all had some type of quality control issues. Software updates came but when they came, you were truly surprised since they don't come that fast. Samsung and Google are much better with this. I'm at the point where they will never get my money again.

G3: first quadHD phone released in the states but overheated on the first day with the device and had dead pixels.
V10: screen durability was a mess, cracked on one drop....still have it and it's cracked screen. Lots of screen lightbleed.
G5: Modular concept went to waste, light bleed galore....traded it in with Note 7 Owners half price deal for Note 8 thankfully.
V20: It was the most durable but the screen was not calibrated well and was more cold and bluish. Also, light bleed galore. P.S. LG screens are never calibrated well...they just pop the display on.

Thank you for that. Now, I will definitely NOT buy the LG V30 and I will stay with my iPhone 6 or 8 + Mojo Chord.. I have to decide if I want to keep the 8.

Whilst some LG phones have exhibited issues for some users in the past (as do all OEM's if you go looking, and those affected are always the vocal minority), the G6 has had no such reports so far, garnering praise for its build quality.

I would wait and see how LG handles support and service for the LG V6 and V30 for the rest of 2017 and into the first half of 2018 before I would replace an iPhone with an LG phone as a daily driver. If it's just your second phone to give you a taste of what the Android manufacturers are capable of, and you can find a good discount after it's been out awhile, go for it.

But even I won't preorder it at full price, not without some good freebies thrown in. I think LG is working very hard to turn a corner and build a reputation to rival Samsung's, but even Samsung is just now catching up to rival Apple, really. This year is the first year I've seen LG produce a truly desirable looking product and still they botched the release of the LG G6 with ridiculous and insulting regional restrictions. They basically thumbed their nose at all of Europe by giving them the most basic specs. Fortunately the G6 seems to have been well designed and built. The display looked good at Best Buy. The pictures I took with it had a weird blue-green cast, though. I'm not sure what that was all about..

The V30 is exciting and tempting and teardowns show it to be meticulously engineered, but I am waiting to see how they handle the software side of it.

I've had no issues with my G6's (I've changed colours and gone from EU 32gb to Asian 64gb variant). Super solid phone that at its current price is still the best flagship and mid range pricing available. Pick it up for less than €380 these days brand new ....

So next Thursday for Verizon? $810 on ATT for Friday and $800 for Tmobile 10/13, at least here in the states. Seems a bit expensive for a struggling company IMO. It is worth the money comparatively, but that makes little difference on if consumers will actually spend the money on it. Heck look at the Essential only selling 5000 phones and that is $100 cheaper. Bad move to also release it the day after Google's announcement, and with virtually no pre-marketing at all, good move LG.

Agreed. I don't see it selling well. They are making the same mistake as the G6 once more.

On the bright side it means a great phone will be available to buy come December/Jan for $500/€500 ......

It's amazing this phone isn't out yet.

Everyone should at least wait for the Pixel 2 XL at this point.
At this rate the Pixel 2 will well and truly be available before it anyway.

I mean a Sprint exclusive in the USA !!! So they don't want it to sell making it exclusive to the least popular carrier ...

Not a word on Europe too, looking much like a repeat of V10 & V20 which essentially never released in Europe outside of a couple of countries.

LG could not feck up the launch any better.

Nevermind it's just my confusion. It is the V30+ (essentially the 128gb model) that is a Sprint exclusive available from 13th October.
