Whilst some LG phones have exhibited issues for some users in the past (as do all OEM's if you go looking, and those affected are always the vocal minority), the G6 has had no such reports so far, garnering praise for its build quality.
I feel like the G6 is a victim of LGs past mistakes, people are treading carefully with them, and the sad part is that it is genuinely a good phone.

I guess the fact that it uses an old SoC and has the multiple regional variations also makes it not so attractive for some depending on what they wanted and what was made available in their country.

Pretty much the same as Samsung do.

No. The minor differences in regions between Samsung's models (colour, snapdragon/exynos) are not the same. An S8 in Europe despite being Exynos is the same as a S8 in the USA. Comparable CPU's and everything else hardware wise is usually the same.

LG messed up by having hardware features in one territory, unavailable in another.

Wireless charging USA but not for Europe or Asia
Quad Dac for Asia but not for Europe or USA
32gb for Europe & USA but 64gb for Asia

Supplemental, you really need to step back from the persistent Samsung trolling before you inevitably find yourself on the wrong end of a forum suspension.

Exactly. Thank you MRU, I wasn't even going to bother explaining anything to him.

Anyway at least LG seem to have learnt their lesson, and worked on that with the V30. They must just get this beast out ASAP now.

How are LG phones for installing a custom ROM like LineageOS, essentially solving the lack of updates issue?

£800 eh?
Wowzers.

There's another one being ridculously priced. Not really enjoying the way this pricing is going up, up and up for mobile phones.
It becomes difficult to start to justify purchasing them if it's not part of an upgrade which doesn't exactly swing round that often.

Ah well, maybe this is the cure to my tech fetish. Price them out of reach (for me) and it stops me swapping phones every few months!*

*This isn't a good thing. Cry. :(

On sale in the States at VZW as of today, and they're offering a $200 Visa gift card with your purchase. Any takers?
If I wanted to buy a phone and then constantly wonder not only how long I'd have to wait to get the OS updates after Google releases them but also whether or not my phone would even get the OS updates, then yes, I would consider getting an LG.

Sounds like the only advantage the Pixel would have is if you prefer stock android. Otherwise the V30 seems to offer more at less cost.
[doublepost=1507216760][/doublepost]Remember a couple of months ago when this phone was every tech blogger's favorite phone ever and the new hotness?

Great job, LG, Launch your phone a day after Google announces new hardware, a few weeks before the iPhone X release, and a month after the Note 8 is in everyone's hands. What could go wrong?

Yeah, I think I’m hitting a sweet spot last year and this year on my phone purchases. I’ve got the Panda Pixel on order which will promise me 3 years of software updates and security updates. They finally put some sort of water resistance on it, made a sweet camera that’s going to be fine for at least 2 years. Yeah I may wish for zoom but I can also do fine without it. Same for the wireless charging. It probably doesn’t do stereo audio recording but with an external mic my iPhone 7 Plus can. My 7 Plus is great, and will easily take me through another year of good service.

All the futuristic stuff they’ve all got planned need another year or two to get smoothed out and I can do without the growing pains. So the Panda Pixel cost is a bit painful but for 2 to 3 years it’s not so bad. I also got what I wanted from Samsung in the S8+ deal and that will keep me going in VR along with the older phones I still have. I may trade in my S7 Edge though to Google for a little bit off.

I was surprised what buying a cool new case and getting a new iOS did to breathe new life into my 7 Plus. :D Er...once they fixed the battery drain problem anyway.

This, this and this.

I feel like our little band of merry phone addicts is coming to a close on this forum.

It's been fun! :D

Gahhh, I'm tempted. And Verizon doesn't ever offer anything that's not tied into a monthly credit, which makes it that much more difficult.

Edit: FYI offer also includes a Google daydream viewer. Offer is straight from LG, just upload a receipt and UPC and wait for the check card and viewer. Very tempted, but I just can't get by LG's crappy record for OS updates.

I played with one this afternoon. Really weird. It's so light it doesn't feel premium or sturdy. I know that can't be the case, the materials used are supposed to be quality.

I didn't really see anything better than what my Note 8 offers other than the wide angle camera. I'm not an audiophile so the dac doesn't intrigue me.

How was it to hold? How as the width? My complaint about my N8 is how narrow it is....

Yeah, on that count I definitely prefer it to the Note. Absolutely. The shape is perfect. But again...SUPER light. Maybe part of that is due to my handling a Note and iPhone 8 Plus for the last two weeks. I think they're the heaviest phones on the market.
