Today's flight from Shanghai (FDX92) left about an hour and a half late, is scheduled to arrive in Anchorage @ about 1PM local time, which is 5PM EST. All of you who were worried about your tracking not showing any updated data for a couple of days (myself included) can probably calm down now, as I imagine it's probably this flight. We'll know once it hits the ground. I wouldn't expect it to get to Memphis in time to have computers out for delivery tomorrow, though, but who knows. I'm expecting Wednesday, but I'd like to be surprised.

Well back home from waiting in my work parking lot for Fedex. This is one sweet machine. Speed is good for 1.6/80 opening a few apps it is only a heart beat behind my MPB 2.4.:D

I also just noticed that that flight is finally showing up as in the air.

I'm praying to god that those of us who missed the cutoff on Firday managed to get on that plane.

I don't see an update saying something of the sort, but maybe we'll get one once it lands in Anchorage...

Good luck to us!

Texas Update- MBA Arrived!

My MBA came today. The great news (1.8/80) after briefly looking at it is that it doesn't wobble, and the fan doesn't bother me at all- didn't notice much if any noise.

This was due to deliver on 02.06, so this is a real treat. The really cool thing was that I went to track it a few minutes ago, and it said delivered! I went to the front of the office to check this out, and literally, my receptionist was bringing it back to me and the front door was closing as the FedEx guy was leaving. That is some real time tracking!

Thanks for all your help.

I will check the other forums. I hope you all get yours quickly.

Sooooo close.

My 1.8/80 (preordered 1130am 1/15) is now on the FedEx Truck to be delivered as of 8:17 AM!!! I feel like such a dork tracking it so closely, the enthusiasm here is absolutely contagious and probably unhealthy :)

Simpletracking.com is THE way to go, much better/current/more accurate tracking information. If your info isn't showing up on FedEx.com's tracking site or if it seems "stuck" in one place, do try Simpletracking.com, I'm sure you'll see more info/progress.

Going to do a clean install as well I think, hope you all get yours soon.

what is xslimmer?

Xslimmer, the friendly way to right-size your apps without losing functionality.
Remove unnecessary code from fat binaries. Xslimmer determines which code your machine needs and removes the rest. This is achieved by removing the code inside the Universal Binaries that does not fit with your machine's architecture, a code that never gets executed and just wastes your disk space.
Strip out unneeded languages. Safari is available in more than a dozen languages, Adium in more than 20. This is great, but how many of those do you need? Xslimmer allows you to select how many languages you want to preserve in your apps and will remove the rest, recovering lots of precious free space from your disk.
Xslimmer not only frees space wasted by unused code, it can even increase your Mac's performance. Some of our users have reported applications loading in almost half the time, because OS X does not need to analyze Xslimmed applications in search for the most suitable version of the code.

See for yourself! Grab your copy of Xslimmer now and try it out for free until you free up to 50Mb.

No problem. I think this is actually the first time I've posted in this thread, but I've been checking Apple Order Status/FedEx Tracking/flightaware pretty regularly the past few days so I figured I'd pass along the news since it didn't seem anyone got to it yet :)

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of an extra update. On the tracking it was scanned as having left origin on Saturday, so that probably means it was scanned to go but waiting to be loaded. I don't think they scan again until it lands at the next step in the trip.

Well, guys, I cancelled my "pre-order" which I placed on the 19th.

Because I was able to just buy one at the store in Tysons Corner, VA at lunch!

I have it in hands... incredible! Finally, waiting is over.

I'm so happy for you! :) That was some crazy tracking sheet your MB Air seemed to have going there for awhile... sounds like all is well now, ENJOY!!!

And.. @ Petrogk - don't worry. After mine left Shanghai, long silence and it never did say it arrived Anchorage, only that it finally departed Anchorage. Anyway you know it's on the move now :)

==============
W O W - mine is here right this second. The guy knocked on the back door right after I had filed this post originally. WOW --- tracking info never said it went on the truck. I am in heaven. HEAVEN!!!!!!  :)

Ordered my 1.6/80 MBA on 1/15 at 3pm PST. Still listed as not yet shipped. Meanwhile others have theirs who ordered later. Ordered through the Educational Store- guess I'm at the back of the line. Listed as ships Feb 6, arrives Feb 12. Since I'm traveling on Feb 13, hope to have it by then as my 12" MPB is on its last legs. I'm looking forward to the lower weight- MPB has been to Japan, Brazil, Spain, Poland, Ireland, Australia and about 25 states. 2 pounds less weight times all those miles is a lot of energy savings.

I ordered through the Edu store as well, same day as you (only ~3 hrs earlier) and had the 1.8/64SSD drive version arrive this morning at 9:30am. Since the custom 1.8/ssd versions seemed to have been shipping later than the stock versions, there might be something wrong with your order. I'd contact Apple if I were you.

Woohoo! Just changed to "Prepared for Shipment".

I ordered a 1.6/SSD on Jan. 21st. I leave for grad school interviews on Thursday, and would love to have it beforehand, so this will be a race against time...

ordered 1/15, still not shipped but Apple says I'm OK

Called order support to find out why mine hasn't shipped. Only answer is that too many of the rest of you ordered as well. No holds or problems. Since its still before the official ship date, not much I can do. I always end up in the long line at the bank as well.

Arrived in Canada (Toronto)

Mine has just arrived as of noon Feb 4. Love it!!

Much better than the original ship date of Feb 6, delivered Feb 18!!

1.8 GHz 64 SSD. USB Superdrive

First Impressions:

SSD (64GB) has 55.58 GB total space, with 38.00 GB free when shipped!

Trackpad button is a little narrow, getting used to it.

USB Superdrive works well, cable is a bit short -12"

New trackpad gestures are awesome, esp screen zoom!
