So mine's still not yet shipped on a 1/15 order. Called Apple and its still within their original Feb 6-12 window so "not to worry". However, other orders from much later have already been received. Would trying to get upgraded shipping prompt anything and does it really save any time? Guesses.
The expedited shipping only makes a difference once the item is actually shipped; Apple won't rush the item through their system any faster just because you pay for expedited shipping. What you are paying for is for the shipper (FedEx, etc.) to move the package along to you more quickly once they receive it from Apple.

1/15 3pm 1.6/80 order finally prepped for shipment

I'm pumped, my MBA finally went Prepared, albeit without the accessories like the ethernet plug. I may have the last 1/15 order to be shipped but there's hope that I'll see it soon. Hopefully my hotel next week will have Wi-fi and not a ethernet cable in the room.

I called Apple today about this because mine is in the same position. The Apple rep called Fed EX and here is what he told me:

"Sir, you're not gonna be happy with what I'm about to tell you. Apparently, China is celebrating the Chinese New Year, and everybody is off of work for about a week. It won't ship till later or next week and there is nothing we can do about it...we're sorry...etc..."

I called because the estimated delivery date was for the 11th which got me upset since that was a week away. This is why, everyone is in the same boat now. It sucks, but there is nothing we can do.

raining on my parade too

My luck- changed to prepared today and now I probably have to wait until until everyone has sobered up after celebrating the year of the rat.

Well mine just got to Anchorage today. I hope that turns out the same for the rest of you! I was worried about losing time to the Chinese New Year, but I got lucky. Maybe others will as well.

I would have canceled the order if it didn't go prepared for shipment like 4 days ago lol. Chinese new year slows things down so much. Over a week.

From Alaska to my door...

According to Fed/Ex...mine just arrived in Alaska. The tracking page shows delivery on the 12th. For those delivered....how long did it take to go from Alaska to you? I'm in houston. Could it really take another 7 days to get here?

Pretty poor is so. Oh well!

Ditto this question! Mine's likewise in Alaska. Sounds like we're on the same plane!

Alaskan Glue

it all depends on what type of delivery option you purchased?

I ordered the express delivery. My apple shipping notice said that it would arrive on the 6th. The Fed/Ex shipping site had a delivery date of the 12th. I called Apple support....asked about it, why the difference...she was very nice, banged away on her keyboard, looking stuff up, then told me that she was sorry it looked like it would be the 12th. Said there was nothing she could do except refund my express shipping costs. I thought that was weird...I assume anyone could ship overnight from Alaska....it's not a foriegn country right?

Many have reported early delivery...I hope nobody knows what's going on and they throw it on a plane send it to a sorting center...toss it on a truck and it arrives early. I ordered at 12:59pm on the day of the keynote.

Go figure. I really don't think I'll preorder again...I'm may be slow....but not stupid. This is my first mac, I've learned my lesson....next time I'll just wait and go to the local mall....it's 5 minutes away.

Nothing to really cry about, I just want it now.

Mine just arrived in Alaska which is great news! I don't know what the hell is going on with this Macbook Air shipment, but whatever, as long as it is stateside it should keep moving.

This was by far my most annoying Apple order I ever placed. It also is my most exiting to receive, outside of the iPhone (but that was a wait in line all day rather than this massive constant checking of the online store).

Zed....Apple's not giving any foot massages....that's for sure. If it doesn't keep moving...hop on the Chopper and go get it...grab mine while you're at.

Can you grab mine too? I went to the Apple store to buy one, but they just ran out of stock. Said they should havd some tomorrow. So, either my frozen unit makes it way to me from Alaska or I go buy one locally.

I did enjoy playing with the demo unit. It is a beautiful machine!!!

Our MBA's are siblings!

Mine is showing Alaska and a delivery date of the 12th as well. I've got to believe this isn't the case.

::crossing fingers and toes that we'll get them this week!::
