I thought that the main reason why Jobs split w/microsoft was the whole evil machine/dictator/pinky the brain type action?

I feel like this is VERY manipulative on the part of Apple? Am I mis-interpreting just bad shipping/planning? Or is this to "test" the market...just how much will they put up with for our products?

Anyway after days and days of "duh" out of the mouth of employees all over the country...(Obviously lying)...I went ahead and just purchased an MBA off of E-bay!

The peace of finally ending the game...been sleeping like a baby every since! FORGET THESE MARKETING GAMES!

I'll never go through something like this with apple again! I am gravely disappointed to be treated like this!

I sold my mac book to make room for this MBA I'm typing on over 2 weeks ago and lost quite a bit of productivity..my own fault yes but I thought I'd at least be told when they'd hit the stores! I never thought it was a classified national security event!

Well after having vented I do love it...though it's recognizably slower than my former blk.macbook... I loved it and it took a design this innovative for me to let it go!

It happens. They aren't "testing the market" the weather is horrible in China, and with their New Year fast approaching and them NOT using slave labor it's nearly impossible to have made that deadline.

I have a work laptop on order from Lenovo/IBM shipping from Shanghai via UPS. It's also been on the loading dock since Sat with a "fat chance" of getting it before the end of next week. Steve Jobs isn't god, you just assumed he was.

i belive it will do another "left origin" shanghai thing again..in 24 hours
then you will get an estimated delivery date...
you also have to remeber the bad weather there and chinese new year might delay it from flying...

Honestly, luv, stop whinging and put things into perspective. I ordered my MBA before most of you were born (figuratively speaking) and it still hasn't changed from the status of "Not Yet Shipped".

haha well i definitely was not whining i just knew people on this forum has experienced the same missed cutoff issue and wanted to know how their shipment went. But wow if you preordered before me and it still has yet to ship that just blows.

If you are waiting and your order still says Not Yet Shipped, cancel and go to a store. I did, and they had all the accessories and three different models in stock (1.6/80, 1.8/80, and 1.8/64SSD). It seems that there is a pretty good pipeline that is sending daily shipments to the stores. My store said that yesterday was the first day they didn't sell out, and that they had about 5 units each come in the last two days. (this was a store near Atlanta)

There are no 1.8/80GB configurations available in stores. That's an online BTO option only. Stores only carry two models: HDD and SDD, period.

Ordered 1/23 and I had a 15th ship date originally, called complained got free over night and the only bump I have gotten since is one day. Some people are reporting up to a week bump on the ship dates. Any one have any ideas if I can expect this date to be accurate?


As it stands now I get it on valentines day and I have to leave it at the house all alone while I woo the gf with a night out on the town. Leaving the air all alone its first night in a strange house just doesn't seem right!!!

Between the MBA and the gf on Valentines Day, I'd go with the MBA. Valentines Day happens every year, but your first night with the MBA only happens once.

I ordered on the 21st and my original ship date was Feb. 12th. With no prior warning it was prepared to ship, then shipped on the 4th. Now I have projected delivery date of the 12th, but I doubt it'll take a week once it hits the states in a few hours.

I wouldn't be surprised if you got it a few days early. I do believe that someone here ordered on the 28th, and it's already in the states!

Life is full of surprises. I got up this morning with the memory of the nagging thought of 11 Feb delivery as the last word from Apple and the FedEx website site and FedEx employees. Where was the shipment and why were there no information updates on the FedEx site?

I just checked FedEx. According to the FedEx website, Scotty beamed the unit directly to Phoenix:

The Indianapolis time stamp of the Int'l release from Indianapolis must have happened with the unit in Phoenix (local time conversion was 6:36AM and it is at least a four hour flight from Indianapolis to Phoenix this time of year)?!

Anyway, those with Feb 2 ship dates may get some good news today. Today is the original proposed FedEx delivery date the first time I checked with the FedEx website last Saturday.
