Life is full of surprises. I got up this morning with the memory of the nagging thought of 11 Feb delivery as the last word from Apple and the FedEx website site and FedEx employees. Where was the shipment and why were there no information updates on the FedEx site?

I just checked FedEx. According to the FedEx website, Scotty beamed the unit directly to Phoenix:

Feb 6, 2008
7:49 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery TEMPE, AZ

7:29 AM At local FedEx facility TEMPE, AZ

5:37 AM At dest sort facility PHOENIX, AZ

8:36 AM Int'l shipment release INDIANAPOLIS, IN

Feb 2, 2008
6:17 PM Left origin SHANGHAI CN

6:10 PM Picked up SHANGHAI CN Package received after FedEx cutoff

1:46 PM Package data transmitted to FedEx

The Indianapolis time stamp of the Int'l release from Indianapolis must have happened with the unit in Phoenix (local time conversion was 6:36AM and it is at least a four hour flight from Indianapolis to Phoenix this time of year)?!

Anyway, those with Feb 2 ship dates may get some good news today.

I've had this happen with more than a few non-apple orders. It definitely feels nice to think that nothing's happening, and then find that it's on the way to your door.:D

Who can I contact for some more accurate information other then the 'check order status' page. I called the apple store last week and as usual they where clueless.

Well, last week all info was in flux. They should have better info this week. How about FEDEX?

I just got an email from MacMall saying they had the MBAs in their warehouse and were ready to ship out. I think their warehouse is in Memphis (that's where the rest of my order came from) so I should get it by Monday latest.

Ok...now I'm confused...what other info do you need? Unless its already Feb 14, then your order is still valid and in the queue.

Some other orders have shipped before there ship date on the website, I am wondering what are the chances of that happening to my order. IE, I WANT IT NOW NOT NEXT THURSDAY@!@#!@#! :D

I ordered a 1.8 with 80gig, BTO configuration, It isn't available in the stores. Already explored that avenue. Can any one answer my question, is the ship date accurate on the website or just an estimate. Is there any one I can call to get some more accurate information? I keep hearing in this forum that people 's shipments have moved forward up to a week overnight. Just wondering if thats a possibility with my order or not.

thanks, Guess I will just to continue to check HOURLY for updates.

I know how you feel. Even after shipping I'm still constantly checking. It sounds like there are plenty of compulsive checkers in this forum!!

Go to an apple store to get one now.

If you live in one of the urban areas good luck with that. Macbook Air has been sold out in both of the stores in New York City since the day it came out. Apple is not very good at estimating demand in their outlets.

I can't say I blame you. I really whined when I saw my initial ship date of the 11th.

However, my computer actually shipped on the 4th and I got it today. I so did not expect THAT to happen! (I ordered the 16th of Jan, by the way.)

My guess is if you call Apple, they will tell you that they can't give you a sooner ship date and they promise to make the one that you have been given. When I ordered they said two to three weeks for shipping.

In all likelihood, it'll ship sooner. And if you call them you can change your shipping option to something a little better. But I don't think they'll actually budge on the ship date that is posted at the moment.

Sorry. :-(

So mine's still not yet shipped on a 1/15 order. Called Apple and its still within their original Feb 6-12 window so "not to worry". However, other orders from much later have already been received. Would trying to get upgraded shipping prompt anything and does it really save any time? Guesses.

I'm in the same boat.

Ordered at MWSF, after the keynote and
it's not here. Apple/Fedex are saying delivery
by 2/11.

And other people are going to Apple Stores to pick their's up.

This is bad.

I'm kind of suprised with my FedEx Shipment. Everyone here seems like it takes nearly the full 5 days for standard shipping. Mine was shipped the 5th and estimated delivery is the 8th from Apple and FedEx.
