lol. Just changed it to overnight shipping. The sales rep was ridiculously nice and very easy to get it changed.

Just called to upgrade mine and the rep on the phone has one on order too, she was even debating about calling in sick the day it is to be delivered but figured it would be too obvious ;)

I would guess that the few who actually get "overnight" live in California, those of on the East Coast could never get it from China overnight since both UPS and Fedex send everything going East through Indy or Memphis first for usually a full day.

i just got off the phone with someone from the online apple store - here is what she said to me (take it for what its worth):

1. the apple stores have to order products from the online store just like any other cutsomer

2. the air's will be shipped to the stores and to us on the same day.

3. they are not doing overnight delivery because their comming from china (i live in nyc).

4. the fastest they can deliver it is 3 days. so three days after it's shipped it will arrive (wether it be the apple store or your home).

5. there is no way it can be in the stores this wednesday because they haven't shipped any yet.

You guys act like FedEXing your packages is so cheap. Overnight shipping with major couriers is super expensive and it adds up when impatient people like you nickle and dime them.

Apple gave you guys no specific date on when you should get them and you start whining and demanding fre overnight shipping. its because of your rants for free crap that makes patient people like the rest of us have to take the hit for other nonsense charges from Apple like ipod touch upgrades and wireless n activators. Admit it or not, those opportunities to gain lost revenue.

I just find it hilarious how people think they deserve special treatment due to loyalty. its like when people demand free stuff from cell phone carriers because they pay their bills on time.. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!!!

Just pipe down and get back to freakin work and worry other more important crap you iPhone-halo noobs.

I actually asked how much it would be to upgrade to overnight and she offered it to me for free. I didn't ask her for it. Also, I am not an "iPhone-halo- noob." In the grand scheme of things, I'm a relatively new user, but I got my first mac (iBook G3 700MHz 256MB RAM and 10GB 2nd Gen iPod) in 2002. This was before the iPod really hit it big.

a bit annoyed in that they upgraded me to 2-3 day shipping, but not to overnight. -___- they said the fastest is 2-3day which is annoying.

Did you custom order yours? I added the iworks to my 1.6ghz 80gb - never thought it was customizing it and would take longer to get the MBA. Anyways, the Apple Customer service rep said that custom orders come from overseas so 2-3 days is the fastest shipping option available. I assume everyone getting overnight shipping has standard orders????????????

I called to upgrade for free shipping and the rep on the phone recommended that I do not change the shipping method!
She claimed that they are ready to be shipped and if I change the shipping method to overnight they will have to print new labels, change boxes, etc and that it would delay my ship date.

Either way she did not upgrade my shipping to overnight- i'm in nyc btw

I just spoke to an online Apple rep as well - slightly different story again - she said because I've order a custom config (1.8/hdd) that 2-3 days shipping (from China) is best she can do - she also stated that if I had ordered a standard config (I assume she means 1.6/hdd or 1.8/ssd) she could have upgraded my shipping to next day - I guess this means the standard configs are in the states already???

Still patiently waiting........

I recall that when I ordered my MBP (15" 2.16 Core Duo) in '05, I think it was, that it came from China and went to a FedEx distribution center in Alaska and avoided FedEx/Tennessee completely. I thought it was interesting that stuff from China would go through Alaska and get here as quickly as it did; I believe that it took less than 2 days.

That was with expedited shipping, to Houston TX.

The only customization on my MBA is having iWork 08 preloaded. My status page currently says ships 2/06 and delivers by 2/11.

We shall see, shall we not?

That is awesome, hope it's true. I forgot to add that when I was told that 2-3 days is the fastest available for my shipping, the rep said "it may ship sooner". But I couldn't get anymore information out of him than that. Ohhhhhhh, thought I heard the FedEx man but it was only DHL, D'oh.

I just got off the phone with apple. They said the computer is coming from China so no way it can be over nighted. She did credit me back the $18 for "2-3 day" shipping so it was worth it

Now all we have to worry about are dead pixs and yellowing....my macbook pro had it bad

Yeah, I've had nothing but problems with my current macbook pro's screen. I got it a year ago, and two weeks after buying it, I already need to have the first display replaced. But, even the replacement has been showing signs of early aging, and I baby this thing. I'm hoping that the LED display on my MBA will not prove to be as problem ridden as this clunky thing.

One of the reviews would have posted something about it, I think it will be good :)

It is completely possible that the standard configs are already in the states and held in a warehouse until they are released. I remember when I bought the first iPod shuffle they shipped from Ontario.

Nobody really knows if all models are being shipped from china.

Remember all those pimply-faced gamers posing as marketing experts who claimed the MBA would never sell and would die an early death?

LOL
