Yes, mine left today too. We are on the same track. I didn't order it with the machine. Figured the drive would slow down delivery of the computer, I think I was right???

Does your tracking number for the Superdrive show anything? Mine says no information available.

I've already ordered one from sfbags.com (WaterField). They are great, they are custom, and they have one that will fit the MBA.

I recently ordered a WaterField Sleeve case, and it arrived this week. It is the best case out there... 2nd time purchasing from them (had it for a MBP).

I'm kinda of sad though... I have the case now... but no MBA yet!!! I did a custom order and Apple says Ships Feb 22, Receives Feb 27. Does anyone think I might get it earlier?? Maybe the Apple Stores will have them in the morning?!

I ordered the waterfield sleeve too. It is very well made and their service is first rate. Can't wait to put my new Macbook Air in it. (should be here monday)

Update for 1.8/80 and a Question

My MBA was updated to "Prepared for Shipment". Still reads Ships by Feb 6, Delivers Feb 12.

My SuperDrive has been shipped and left TN.

I just purchased the Waterfield Sleeve.

Question/Concern-
My current laptop is a dell- plastic on the outside. The Air is aluminum. I am very concerned about dents! Any comments about how protective the sleeve is (I will be putting it in a leather messenger bag that has very little protection)?

Thanks.

And the envelope, please...

I haven't seen this yet, but I had one laying around and I just couldn't help myself...

Thank You, Apple, finally I can join the ranks of us who are now waiting for the MBA to leave China. Yea!

By the way mine is a 1.8/64GB.

Hey, what did you order for a printer? I ordered a Canon Pixma MX300. And I have my Waterfield MBA (size 13-2) sleeve.

My 160gb Classic will make a nice Time Machine backup for my Air. Both silver, both sleek.

just went to 'Prepared for Shipment' status.

Ordered a 1.8/ssd on 1.15 @ 8:12pm PST

I cannot believe it... I'm so happy.

I ordered at 7:19 PM...still not shipped...damn:mad:

Still say Feb 6th, so whatever. As long as I get it by Friday of next week I will be happy.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.... unless your talking our Macbook Air's because that means they are getting closer to home.

it definitely wasn't meant to be

so i hopped on flightaware and if our bundles of joy are enroute to IND, it won't touchdown till early morning tomorrow (local).

who knows, maybe they diverted a pallet to OAK since both flights left within 5 minutes of each other.

with that said, i can stop refreshing the fedex tracking page haha.

i hope so hehe

oh and about the fedex page... i'm hitting refresh on it too haha
maybe it'll get here faster lol

they say if you refresh a tracking page enough times, a fedex pilot will increase his or her cruising speed by 1kt

seriously, i'm surprised you don't have a "departed fedex location" already.
