Just had my 4th call with Apple since I am really a bit upset now. Last week, many days before the shipment, I asked two times at their call centre, if cancelling the Ethernet adaptor as additional item would speed up the shipment of my MBA and what "merge in transit NL" means. Guess what, all of them said
"no, both items are suspected to be available at the same date, your shipment of the MBA should not be affected by the additional adapter!" And to the other question about merge in transit they only knew "that's the shipping method". Great! In the meanwhile all of us know it better than the people at Apples call centre. Interestingly the woman could see more details in her system than me cons. the actual shipment between Shanghai and the Netherlands, carried by Kühne+Nagel. Result: My Ethernet Adapter is already in the Netherland, waiting for the MBA which not even has left Shanghai. This means: MBA Ordered Jan 15 the hour the store came up after the key note. Prepared for shipment last Saturday. Since then sitting more then four days at the airport for being first shipped to the Netherlands instead of the my destination address, and nothing can be changed anymore. If I would have cancelled and separately ordered the silly adaptor, I might have the MBA already in my hands, or receive it before this weekend.
It will be my first mac, but what they are doing here is not really powerful...
