Hmmm.

After following your instructions properly this time, I managed to get things working with the Gruppled theme.

However, repeating the same thing for the Matte UI theme doesn't work. It just gives the basic (unthemed) LockInfo screen.

When I next get chance, I will have a play around (and probably try contacting the authors involved) and if I can resolve this I will post an update here as to how to get the Matte UI theme working in the same way as you got Gruppled working.

Cool. Yea I haven't tried it with Matte UI yet.

Okay, I downloaded the old .deb file, but has anyone the newer one? I think it's version 1.0.82, but I don't wanna install a version that is that old. Anyone has a new one? Or anyone has an idea where to get the newest?

And with the themes? How does that work? Are there separate download links for them or does I simply have to install it through cydia? I'm mostly interested in the Matte UI that os often used.

Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to themes and stuff.

Firstly... The command I show above
Code:
apt-get -d install com.ashman.lockinfo
will download the latest deb file. Read more of my directions to find it.

Most are seperate. If you want to install them through Cydia you'll end up installing winterboard.

I recommend downloading Gruppled LockInfo because it's the only one I can CONFIRM works with this method. Good luck!

I was looking for this too but couldn't find it to do the 'non-Winterboard install'.

To get around it, I installed Lockscreen Info (and Winterboard) from Cydia which put 1.0.82 on. All I had to do then was find the file using DiskAid. (it's in Library>MobileSubstrate>LockInfo.dylib I believe).

To expand on that, I used ViViD's posts to do a completely manual method which consisted of:

1. Downloading the 1.0.69 deb file in his first post and extracting the contents, noting the paths where files are put (you don't need the 'contents' file)
2. Installing LockInfo (and WB) from Cydia
3. Copying files from the Cydia install to my desktop making sure to keep the paths noted
4. Uninstalling LockInfo and WB from Cydia
5. Putting the copied files back into the place where the would be if Cydia installed them.
6. Put my custom theme contents into Library/LockInfo/ and noting what David Ashman said.

Works great and my 2G is completely lag-free compared to using it with WinterBoard.

Thanks for the pointers ViViD :)

If I want to apply the Gruppled Art Theme (sliders etc) to Lockinfo, where should I copy them to?

EDIT: got it... just need how to work out how to remove the slide to unlock text now without WB....

EDIT: Pref Setter let me edit the text out of SpringBoard.strings. Cool. All done.

David Ashman has REMOVED the winterboard requirement!!! :D Now if you DL the app in Cydia it will install without forcing the install of Winterboard as well. It also now has a Native theme so you don't even have to install a theme. If you want a theme and still don't want Winterboard, you should be able to theme it the same way I mentioned in this thread.

how to customize native theme??

I had the original lockinfo configured with winterboard installed. I decided to try it without winterboard as lockinfo was the only thing I used winterboard for.

I used iphonebrowser to save all of my existing lockinfo settings and gruppled theme files to hard disk. I then used cydia to remove winterboard and all lockinfo components to get a fresh start.

After a reboot I went into cydia and installed lockinfo ver 1.0.86 successfully. I then copied my existing settings from the gruppled/bundles/com.ashman.lockinfo to /library/lockinfo and it all works using the lockinfo.html theme.

I was curious about how to use the native theme though. I renamed the lockinfo.html and now I get the native screen interface but I am unsure how to configure it. For example, How do I add the clock and weather sections I have in the html themed file? Are there plugins to add? Is this even possible?

The Native theme cannot be themed. You can use any HTML/Javascript theme with HTML rendering though.

You can add plugins (WeatherInfo is the only one supporting Native Rendering ATM, I'm working on porting Appigo Todo) and they can show up in Native mode as well though. As far as the look, it cannot be edited yet and stay native.

Is native theme editing something you plan on implementing or will native just be a preset default and if you want customizatoin you use the lockscreen.html file?

Can someone post a screen of the new lockinfo with the default look? My setup is perfect so I don't really want to change it at the moment.

Yeah, screenshot attached. I kinda like it, but like you, I like the theme set up I have right now too :)

:D I'm not the dev for LockInfo. ;) But thanks! I think he (Stimpy5050 over at Macthemes2.net) is working on something to do slight tweaks to native rendering, but theming of it would defeat the point of it being native.

HTML themes are still supported though.

I'm only trying to take a plugin that was made by someone and trying to add native rendering support to it. If I actually figure out how to built my toolchain and compile ANYTHING I'll be getting right to work! :D

Forgive the basic questions, but is "Lockscreen Info" the same app as LockInfo? It shows v1.0.91 as the latest.. is that the version that works without Winterboard?

Thank you, ViViDboarder! 1 minute install and it's up and running.

The only small disappointment is that the Weather plug-in still appears to require WinterBoard download. I thought Weather would have been included with the "base" app.

You don't need winterboard for weather either. Install WeatherIcon.

I'll post a link to the images and directions to install them without winterboard.

Here it is: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8640795/

Speaking of winterboard free... How's your work coming with the natively rendered todo plugin? Any way we can help (monetary or otherwise)?

Until I can compile anything I'm stuck. I've been emailing David Ashman (Creator of LockInfo) for help on building my environment but I can't find any good tutorials anywhere and he's pretty busy with LockInfo already.

None of the Devs here in the iPhone Dev forum responded to me either. I really just need the "include" folder for compiling apps with Foundation. I can't find Foundation.h and It's not being dumped when I use class-dump either. So that's what I need. Like I said, once I can actually compile it shouldn't be so bad. Also, finding time to fiddle with it is pretty tough for me right now. I'll have to take a look this weekend.

No worries. You're doing this for free, for the benefit of the community, so patience is the least we can offer. Thanks for your work!

Hi, I have 3 questions:

1) I use winterboard not only to use the Gruppled Theme but also to change some icons and have DockFlow, but I have everything in the Gruppled Theme folder in order to have less active themes in Winterboard. If I copy all those files in the Lockinfo theme folder, would the icons still be changed?

2) I also wanted to know if by doing this I would finally be able to use either the Todo or Things plugin with the Grupple Theme.

3) And finally and I think one of the most importants, what happens when Lockinfo gets an update? How do I install the new version without messing everything else up?

Thank you so much :)

Ok. LockInfo is now independent of Winterboard. The only thing useful here is that you can still theme it without winterboard.

If you want to theme anything other than LockInfo you will have to do that slightly diferently. Create a new thread and I will help you out.

Now for Appogo Todo, I am the one working on that source now. When I get a chance I will be able to add support for Native Rendering. I an not sure of how I would get it to work with Gruppled.

I know where the thread is for Gruppled on Macthemes and if I get Native to work I will see him about adding support, but primary goal is for Native support.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions about SSH theming without Winterboard or questions about the ToDo plugin, but we ate a bit off topic now. If you have more questions I'd be happy to answer in a new thread. Thanks!

Hi, great thanks, I'll come back tomorrow and post a new thread, saddly enough I have to go back to study right now so I won't be able to read your answers just yet so why make you lose your time right now :p

Thank you so much again :)
Talk to you soon:D
