Hello,
I find this thread very interesting. I have always used winterboard to theme. I had to send my 3gs in because of a hardware issue. I took out my sim card and put it into an old 3g, while I wait for a replacement. I don't know if I feel intirally comfartable with themeing without winterboard. I thought maybe I could try themeing without winterboard on my 3g. I wondered like to get lockinfo on my 3g, it is jb'n can I download what I need using wifi without an active sim card? Like if I get back my 3gs and put my sim card into it, could I still download what I need with wifi? Or would I just have to switch my sim back and forth? I realize this is a little off topic, any help would be appreciated.

You can install LockInfo with Wifi. Just go into Cydia and add the repo and then download it. By default it has no Winterboard dependency anymore.

Just wondering, I can just install lockinfo through cydia? When I get my replacement phone I wanted to use the gruppled theme. I had the gruppled theme installed and enabled in winterboard before I eventually restored my phone and sent it to apple. I have a copy of the gruppled theme on my laptop. I am a little confused on what I have to do with this theme, it is a folder called gruppled lockinfo on my desktop of my laptop? What am I supposed to do to install this theme? Is this where I look into the theme folder noting the path of where things are and then renaming original system files *.backup? And then replacing system files with files that I got in the gruppled theme folder?

You should be able to drop anything that's in a Themes/<theme>/Bundles directory into /Library/LockInfo/Plugins directory except for com.ashman.LockInfo. Those files would reside directly in /Library/LockInfo/.

ok so if I install lockinfo from cydia, I already have gruppled lockinfo, how do I get the gruppled lockinfo to work? I was going to go into gruppled lockinfo which is on my laptop's desktop, and then put the two folders which are in the Bundles directory of gruppled lockinfo into /Library/LockInfo/Plugins? And then copy com.ashman.Lockinfo into /Library/Lockinfo/? Is that right?

I looked in com.apple.springboard I have files like da.lproj en.lproj etc., I use english, so what exactly am I supposed to do here, what files am I supposed to replace? Like do I replace SpringBoard.strings which is in en.lproj? Or do I just replace the images that I find in com.apple.sprinboard?

You are right about all the bundles things...

The Springboard stuff, you replace all the images. You want to back up the old ones first. If you are using the little tap to unlock thing then you need to edit your actual Springboard.strings file to be like the one in the theme.

The actual springboard.strings has a lot of strings in it and the one in the theme tells you which you need to change and what to change them to. Again... Always backup the original file.

Ok,
If I wanted to have the default slide to unlock can I do that and still use the gruppled theme?

And I copy the gruppled theme folder com.apple.springboard even if I manually change things?

When you say to change all the images, I go into com.apple.springboard from my gruppled theme and look at the path and then ssh into my phone backup originals and then paste images from my gruppled theme into my phone with the correct path?

I am still confused about com.apple.springboard, there is a folder called en.lproj, and in it is SpringBoard.strings, what do I do with that? Find the original back it up and then drop that file into the correct path?

What would happen if you didn't change some of the system files? Would my gruppled theme still work? Thanks for the help so far.

Copying and pasting images from com.apple.springboard to springboard.app is exactly what I mean.

If you want to keep the stock slider, just don't copy anything from the com.apple.telephony folder and ignore the Springboard.strings and the en.lproj folders

When you say ignore, do you mean that I don't even have to copy that item? So I could just copy com.ashman.Lockinfo to the correct path, then go into com.apple.springboard, put the images there onto my phone replacing the originals which I backed up, then enable lockinfo respring and I should have lockinfo with the gruppled lockinfo theme with stock slide to unlock, without winterboard? I just want to get this right, thanks for the help so far.

Ignore means don't copy it.

What you want to do is copy everything inside the com.ashman.lockinfo folder and paste it inside of the /Library/LockInfo folder.

Then you want to copy everything from each plugin folder and paste it into the plugin folders for each plugin.

Then you want to copy everything from each plugin folder and paste it into the plugin folders for each plugin.

Where are the plugin folders? Would they be in the gruppled lockinfo theme? Is a plugin, like mail, SMS etc.? And when I install lockinfo the plugin folders that I paste into will be in there?

Yes. THey are in hte theme. You'll see them. Folders named something mail something SMS and such.

And yes, the plugins are in the LockInfo folder in /Library/LockInfo

I can't seem to find the plugin folders in gruppled lockinfo?

Maybe there aren't any. Did you try it?

If you've replaced the images in Springboard already you're not going to hurt anything that can't be easily redone by uninstalling LockInfo, deleting the folder and trying again.

Just copy the LockInfo stuff and reboot.

Hello,
when you edit system files how does that work? I was going to use cyberduck, I was going to ssh into my phone find an image on my phone that I want to replace with one from the gruppled theme, then in cyberduck I was going to highlight the image file and rename from .png to .backup, and at that point in that folder there is no file of the image? Is that ok, as llong as I then replace with an image file from the gruppled theme?

After I replace the images I was going to go into gruppled lockinfo, which is on my laptop's desktop, and then go into the folder com.ashman.Lockinfo and then highlight everything in there files and folders and copy where you said it goes than respring?

Exactly that. It doesn't matter if the images are missing while you're pasting new ones in.

What I do is I fine the file I want to replace and I name it whatever.png.backup so that I know what extension it used to have too. Then I paste the new file in

Finally got around to trying to get lockinfo working without winterboard. Everything went good, except my email is showing 0 emails even though I have new emails in each of my email accounts? I have two email accounts set up on my phone, and when I had lockinfo working with winterboard there used to be a triangle to expand and when I would expand it I could see two subheaders with each of my email accounts and how many emails I had in each account. Now in the mail section it just says zero? I looked in lockinfo settings and I have mail enabled, and I can see my accounts in lockinfo settings? Any way to fix this? Thanks for the help so far!

So I'm guessing you're using Gruppled right? Make sure the version you have works with the latest version of LockInfo. I'm using Native Rendering at the moment, so no theme. So I can't really give you any info on that. Try renaming the .html in the /Library/LockInfo/ folder to something like _lockinfo.html or something to make it use native rendering and see if you get mail then.

I am using gruppled. After reading another thread I respring my phone again and my mail is showing up. I can't seem to get background transparency in lockinfo settings to work it was working before? I heard there have been a lot of updates to lockinfo, I wondered if I install an update it will delete my current version of lockinfo, right? I had ashes com.asan.Lockinfo from the gruppled theme into lockinfo, I guess I would have to redo that if I install an update? Does that sound right?

Edit: above post should read, I had ssh'd com.ashman.Lockinfo into lockinfo just wondering if I would have to redo that?

The transparency in Settings is only relevant to Native Rendering. And, actually, updating or reinstalling LockInfo will not break your theme.

It only changes files created by the package and will not delete the theme files you have placed in the /Library/Lockinfo folder.

Tthanks for the reply, has transparency always been like that? I don't know why but I was using gruppled lockinfo theme with lockinfo awhile back and I thought when I changed my background transparency setting, my unlock screen went from dark blue to light blue? I have a light blue wallpaper?

I have a strange problem with LockInfo Screen. I get a transparent grey screen on my lock screen.

How do i remove this transparent grey screen from the lockscreen. Only when i remove LockInfo Screen it goes away, but then the LockInfo or Gruppeld Info Screen stops working.

Pls help.

First off... This thread is for LockInfo without winterboard.

In my opinion, themes for LockInfo are useless now. Native Rendering means you can use LockInfo without any themes. It looks nice and runs faster.

Just turn off your theme and you'll see.

As far as that transparency. Either try the LockInfo settings or it's the theme's fault. I answered that question earlier.
