I have mine working ok
removed all bluetooth devices
added problem Magic Mouse first
added Magic Trackpad
wifi = off
FileVault = off
not using USB ports
removed bluetooth from networking options
Thunderbolt Display with usb Apple keyboard
Wired ethernet to mini port
Big Sur 11.2 Beta

edit: also left bluetooth devices on
power off and unplugged Mini m1 for 15 mins

^ not sure what fixed the issue for me
but problem mouse stays connected now.

This is most likely an issue of using a lot of non-Apple bluetooth devices. Switch them all off bluetooth, and then see if the problem goes away. If you can't do that at your location, go to another building where you can eliminate all that noise.

A lot of these non-Apple products are terrible for building bluetooth noise that ruins your wireless experience.
I have AirPods Pro, Magic Mouse 2 and the Apple Magic Keyboard (all last generation) connected to my M1 MBP.
I don't use any other BT device.
Frequently, the MBP refuses to connect to these devices, and in one occasion asking in the BT menu to connect caused in a kernel panic and reboot, because of an error "cleaning up registers".
Seriously, Apple needs to fix this.
I can confirm that this has nothing to do with any non Apple devices, and the reflex of claiming that "all non apple devices are terrible at ..." is quite wrong. I have seen this claim with TB3 Displays, with USB devices etc... and it more often than not was an issue from Apple. They need to be robust enough to work in the real world!

I've made an interesting discovery that isolates my issue down to a specific scenario. There is *massive* unacceptable mouse input lag when:

(1) AirPod Pros are connected to Mac
(2) AirPod Pros are in noise-cancelling mode
(3) Any keyboard key is held down *while* mouse cursor is moved (such as holding ⌘+Tab and mousing to an app)

It triggers the lag every single time.

Environmental variables:
M1 MacBook Pro 16GB+1TB; macOS Big Sur 11.1; Apple Magic Keyboard (A1843); Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac mouse; Google Wi-Fi mesh network; nearby set of Logitech bluetooth keyboard+mouse in active use 3 feet away

Oddly my three Magic mouse disconnects several times per hour. But the magic keyboards work well.

Over here
A couple of times now I have taken my APP out of the case and immediately my Magic Mouse stutters, disconnects and then reconnects, Magic keyboard becomes unresponsive as well. PITA.

Okay the whole bluetooth issue is starting to spread into my whole ecosystem. I think it's mostly unrelated to the specific problem most in here have but my iPhone needs 2 minutes of dis-/reconnecting with my BOSE box before it finally locks in and I can hear music.

The bluetooth disconnections still happen reguary on the 11.2 beta and my disconnections are reproduceable whenever I try to switch between my MBP M1 and my iOS devices. So often my whole peripherals aren't moving anymore when the handoff feature goes of by accident. I turned it off for now because it's causing so many problems. 10 minutes after one of these disconnects I did a phone call and all of a sudden the microphones of my airpod pros where somehow connected to my iPhone but I was able to hear the person through the iPhone speakers.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the whole bluetooth game Apple currently is playing. Honestly I would have expected more.

Yea it's definitely starting to feel that way for me too. I really appreciate all their efforts to leverage Bluetooth to create these seamless experiences, but things are getting crowded out.

Between iOS<>macOS handoff functionality, AirPods quick-switching, different BT devices from third-parties, mesh networks, smart home devices --> there are so many variables at play it's become hard to track what is causing what.

Sometimes I'm tempted to just wire everything up like the old days. We've become spoiled with the clean look of wireless devices on our desks, but man, we're starting to pay a price for it.

Had both Magic keyboard/mouse BT problems with my first M! Mini that I bought in late November. Apple support at first acted surprised there was any issue at all. But as I worked my way up the "expert" ladder, the last guy acknowledged this was not an isolated issue. Tried turning file vault off with no improvement. Last word was that Engineering was aware of the issue but there was no timetable for a resolution.

Since I was still within the holiday return window, I sent the first Mini back. Picked up its replacement on Tuesday. The Apple store employee counseled me not to be disappointed if the replacement had problems. Sure enough, second Mini has same issue.

Probably should have just turned the first Mini back in for a refund. But the Mini offers a nice solution for my needs so I guess I will be patient and hope that Apple fixes the problem.

Another update with a 16 GB M1. For whatever reason, it's been much better than the 8GB. I have no idea why that would be the case, but my friend returned his 8GB and got the 16GB and his is much better too.

Still get occasional problems, but less than once a day.

I'm starting to think it's my wifi interfering as it's on auto channel switching, and that's the only variable I can think of now that could make bluetooth stop working. Some channels are perhaps more crowded or a different frequency? My router also switches automatically between 2.4 an 5 Ghz, which could be a variable too.

It's made me want to get an iMac when the new ones come out to have an all in one solution.

It's just a couple days into 11.2 Beta 2 on my Mini M1 and I don't want to jinx it but it has been a vast improvement.

I have been on several Zoom meetings and able to leave my Magic keyboard & trackpad wireless while still using my wireless headset. I was not able to do that before without things cutting out and was only able to use one bluetooth device at a time reliably.

I have not done any of the workarounds on this thread and was very close to returning it a week ago. Very glad I didn't now.

My bluetooth issues were occurring when trying to wake the M1 Mini up. I don't use bluetooth for music/teams calls though. Sometimes the Mini would wake fine without any issue. Other times repeatedly clicking, waggling or power-cycling the mouse was required to get it to pay attention and wake up. Laggy mouse on occasion but only after waking the Mini from sleep.

I've now been running 11.2 Beta 2 since it was released and as others have reported haven't had any further bluetooth issues so far. The mini now responds and wakes quickly like my old iMac using the mouse or keyboard.

Logitech K780 keyboard, Apple Magic Mouse, Apple Trackpad, Wifi - Very strong 802.11ax 5G signal & WiFi6 mesh network with 2.4G (channel 4) & 5G (channel 48) enabled. HDMI connection & USB3 monitor hub with Focusrite Scarlett audio interface.

The iPad has no issues with any of my Bluetooth devices but my MacBook when it decides to take a fit audio will skip and mouse will lag meanwhile there are days when it is fine.

At this point my APP and MBA combination is TOTALLY useless.
I had issues with my AirPods Pro and my MBA M1 from the beginning but its getting worse. They almost never connected automatically to my MBA when taking from the case, but it worked when I manually clicked in the Bluetooth settings to connect. Now even this is not working anymore... I mean it says connected, I see percentage of APP battery and in which mode they are (NCC,off, transparency) but when I play audio they do not work. What could this be? My APP work fine with my iPhone 11.
It might connect once when I deinstall my APP from my MBA and reconnect them, but after a few moments they are disconnected again and nothing. When I click on the bluetooth settings to press connect, I always get beachballs on the MBA for 3-4 seconds...
that's so lame, Apple .. it just doesn't work!
Is something wrong with my MBA or my APP or is this bug from MacOS? Its totally useless at this point...

EXACT same thing for me today!! My issues started when I updated to 11.1, but it's getting worse and worse. Just like you're describing, the amount of disconnections of my AP is increasing and whenever I turn on/off the bluetooth button, I also get the beachball for a few seconds. Unacceptable for a brand new premium MBA with 16 gb ram. First time I'm having this type of issues with an Apple product. They need to get the fix out NOW.

Is this a hardware issue or software because I also had a connection issue today with my mba m1.

Software IMO. I get mouse disconnects hourly on my MBP M1 in Mac OS but works fine when using custom direct mouse driver in GeForce Now gaming app (can play for hours with zero drop out). Returns to drop outs after I close the app And return to desktop.

Interestingly I have almost the reverse.

My new Mini M1 has no Bluetooth issues using the Apple Keyboard and Trackpad.

My 2 month old MBP M1 gets frequent disconnects with the Apple Mouse 2.

Ok I wonder all m1 devices have this issue with Magic Mouse 2 because mine is 1 day old, or should I send it back for another?

This is definitely a router by router issue. I just upgraded my router to a wifi 6 router yesterday and I'm no longer getting any bluetooth drops (on 5ghz or 2.4).

Yes it seems to be a router Wifi issue. What router did you use before and now?
I use Ubiquiti Wifi 6 with no Wifi/Bluetooth problems.
