41 days and no problem with Apple Magic 2 KB & Magic mouse, dual displays, and Klipsch sound system.

No Wifi - only wired Ethernet from my 27" Thunderbolt display.

Turn wifi on. You’ll then see if you have the issue. Otherwise, no comparison.

It's a M1 Mac issue, somehow related to wifi since disabling wifi or going on 2.4Ghz wifi seems to fix the bluetooth issues for most people. This is fixed with 11.2.
Is there an official report? I am having Bluetooth issues on Big Sur only on my iMac. Installing an older OS does not have Bluetooth issues so it is probably just drivers related.

ANd yep turning off Wifi on my iMac seems to help too.

So I disabled both 'WiFi Networking' and 'WiFi Calling' within location services and I have not had any bluetooth audio issues since. I have an M1 MacBook Pro running OS 11.1. jason2040 may have found where the bug sits - something to do with location services perhaps.

Turned both of these off, but I already had location services disabled for my Mac mini. Initial impression is that the mouse is still a bit jerky with movement even with both of these options turned off

Bluetooth sucks. Always has, always will. It still uses 2.4ghz which sucks also. I have problems with any devices that use Bluetooth. They work good for a while then they start to stutter and skip until I get fed up and hardwired the device or speaker. This is why I went back to wired headphones dongle and all because they are way more reliable.

I've been using BT peripherals on multiple MBPs for the last 12 years and have never once had an issue. The M1 Mac mini is the first time I've ever encountered lag/delays/disconnection problems

Only issue is that the cable I have for my Sennheiser bluetooth headphones and the cable for the AirPods Max are very very VERY short. And you cannot get larger ones.

I don't think you'll see anything official until we see the release notes that come with 11.2. I did submit a bug report to Apple when I was having the issues and they replied back that my issue should be fixed in the bluetooth firmware update that came with the 11.2 beta and indeed it was, specifically:

"As a result of your feedback, there are changes in the latest update, build 20D5029f, that have resolved this issue."

My submission was related to AirPods issues but I'm hoping the fix applies to all BT devices for those afflicted.

I recently got the Fiil T1 Pro. Every 5-6 minutes there is a stutter of about 0.5 seconds. Once in a while, it completely disconnects and reconnects.
The stutter is also on my iPhone 11 albeit very less compared to M1 MBA. Maybe like once in 30 minutes or so.

Are people getting such issues with Airpods? Or just another way Apple is forcing its accessories down our throats.

So I just installed 11.2 beta and my magic mouse 2 still feels awful. The whole usage of the UI feels so awkward. At this point I really don't know if it's all in my head or if there is a real problem. I am more sensitive to a choppy and laggy input and display of the UI but using the OS at the moment doesn't feel pleasant. It's fast and things are opening fast. But it feel optimized to deliver good benchmark data but from a graphics performance it's awful for me. I'm monitoring the FPS while using the UI and the mostly sit at 30-35 FPS at the moment. I don't know why it's not sitting at 60 fps as the monitor runs 60 Hz but this so freaking annoying beside the input lag I'm getting.

@Jogge

Just want to reassure you that something is amiss for some..

My Hack on Big Sur is rock-freaking solid, butter smooth, bluetooth performance.
UI, cursors, interactions... all perfect

Like you, I'm very sensitive and frankly intolerant of issues in that regard, which is what made my M1 11.1 bluetooth experience so disappointing.

I have to think they'll get it fixed, but in the meantime nobody should feel bad about demanding much better from Apple on this front.

11.2 beta fixed my massive AirPods drop out problems using my M1 MacBook Air. This was the first apple device I've used where I had issues using AirPods. Always rock solid connection and range...etc. So glad it's fully fixed now!

Has anyone tried seeing if any issues are resolved by using a 3rd party Bluetooth USB dongle? Would be interesting to see if it's OS or hardware as so many people are reporting varying degrees of success with 11.2

My 2 cents:

On my Mac Mini M1 - the magic keyboards works flawlessly. The only issue is with Magic Mouse 2.
I've always had battery drain issues with it but never Bluetooth issues.

Tried both factory reset of all bluetooth devices and resetting the bluetooth module (twice) - didn't help.
A few hours ago I turned off 2.4GHZ in my WiFI router and so far things seem to be working well. Will keep testing.

I'm on Big Sur 11.1 btw.

Okay a quick update - the issue is back.
Following Apple support advice I tried to run the computer in safe mode but that did not help.
I am not trying to disconnect my USB 3 hub as I've heard this can cause issues, although it seems a little strange that this would interfere with Bluetooth.

In any case, I am extremely disappointed not sure if I should return the mac mini, get a different mouse or... something else?

First success from side. I'm using the 11.2 beta since a few days now and at one point my system crashed. Everything turned pink for a second and then the MBP restarted own its own. I don't know why but since then my Magic Mouse 2 runs significantly better and the lag noticeably reduces to a point where the Mouse feels quite nice to use.

Unfortunately the lag only seems to be reduced while my external monitor is plugged in. When I'm using the MBP on its own the lag reappears.

This is the strangest behavior I have ever experienced when it comes to the MacOS. I ordered a MagicTrackpad2 and I will compare my results with the Magic Mouse 2. My hands don't seem to like the the flat profile of mouse but I find that the mouse is quite nice to use when its working properly.

I have to say that the only thing that somehow helped my Magic Mouse lag is disconnecting my second monitor which was connected via USB C to HDMI. Not sure why or how but that's as far as I got.

I'm on 11.1

I decided to install the USB receiver for my MX3 mouse and, at least for the last hour, lag has been greatly reduced. Not eliminated, but reduced.

Downside is I also used the USB receiver for the MX Keys keyboard so now both the USB-A ports are taken. I have a small USB-C hub w/ a micro-SD reader and two USB-A ports that I used to use on my MBP. I opened up the final port by switching from a USB-C to an HDMI cable for my monitor. So now I have just one available USB-C port left on the Mac Mini when I should realistically have three. Hopefully a software update fixes the bluetooth (and wifi) issues so I can reclaim two ports. Otherwise, this might be a primary driver to upgrade to a 'pro' version or whatever MM comes out in the future with the same number of ports the Intel version has

I've had some pretty bad Bluetooth issues with my M1 MBP the last few days (running 11.1). It's been hard figuring out what the issue is. I was running a Logitech K380 keyboard + M585 mouse, but the mouse had intermittent freezes, and then I replaced the mouse with an MX Anywhere 3 mouse, which didn't have the freezes, but then when I connected my AirPods the whole Bluetooth 'world' of my Mac completely froze. Two restarts didn't fix the situation. I reset the BT module, that didn't help much. Then I replaced the K380 keyboard with an Apple Magic Keyboard and now that's stabilized the situation. Very bizarre.

These so called fixes listed here are just temporary psychological band-aids on a problem that hasn't been fixed. Disappointing that beta .2 doesn't seem to fix it either. Starting to think it may be a hardware issue that may never get fixed, or at least no time soon. calling Apple at this point seems like an exercise in frustration. I get they need cases to log, but the idea of spending hours with them re-setting the mac seems a pointless waste of time which I simply don't have. I'm outside the 14 day return period and just don't know what to do since this is unusable for business meetings at this point.

I went through a year of debugging with Apple support after I bought my 2013 Mac Pro when it first came out. What annoyed me the most was that they knew they had problems and instead of acknowledging that, they instructed their support folks to do various pointless resets.

Following up here. I think the AirPods are definitely what's to blame. This morning everything was working just fine, until I connected my AirPods to my iPhone (sitting next to my Mac), and all of a sudden my Logitech mouse started stuttering and the cursor became very laggy/jittery. Then my AirPods started rapidly connecting/disconnecting from my iPhone. It was a total mess. I put the AirPods away and everything became normal again.

I had the exact same phenomena today. I never had a Bluetooth disconnect bug at all but I had my AirPod Pros connected to my MBP M1 then I manually switched them to my IPhone because of an incoming call afterwards I tried to switch back but Trackpad/Keyboard/nothing was working anymore. I don’t think this problem is originated in the AirPods themselves. I think the modules driver had problems when connecting/disconnecting with other devices and crashes and thus causes problems.

This happened while using the 11.2 beta. My mouse/trackpad lag seems to be gone at the moment.

OK, "glad" to hear this is reproducible in this way. I think the AirPods' new smart switching feature has added a layer of complexity here that is causing these issues. The feature is great when it works, but obviously has bugs.

Last night I used AirPods once more and this time it knocked out the Bluetooth pairing of my partner's keyboard and mouse as well, to an entirely separate Mac!! We had to reset her BT module and re-pair the devices to get them working again. (Her desk setup is adjacent to mine in the same room.)

Just returned my 8 GB M1 Mini and got a 16GB M1 mini. Clean install. No peripherals plugged in. No AirPods. Mini situated about 12 inches from Magic Keyboard and Trackpad. The new machine was ok for a couple of hours, then the Trackpad started skipping and dropping out.

It could, I suppose, be after connecting Bose headphones via bluetooth. Or perhaps after installing non-Apple software.
