I did the reset mentioned in this thread and sinds then I have a stable bluetooth connection with my Magic Mouse. Before it was disconnecting randomly few times per hour. Happy with the fix :)

Recommend to give it day or two. My issues came back after a while.

It does. Those who still face issues after installing 11.2 are either having interference or hardware issues.
I'm still on 11.1, so I'd probably see some improvements just by upgrading to beta (don't want to do that yet as I have ongoing support case with Apple, and they advised me not to jump to beta yet) but I have also started to consider if there are some interference also in play here. I have Philips Hue bridge nearby which I proceeded to move this morning to another room. Plus I have wifi access point less than meter away from Mini. I don't use wifi on Mini as I have ethernet available, but I guess all this wireless traffic could have some effect.

If the problems continue I plan to disable 2.4 GHz band from my wifi AP and just leave 5 GHz band on.

For the 5 days I had my M1 MBA 8GB 512GB SSD system all my bluetooth devices worked great. no skips or cutouts. The only issue was a keyboard wake up from sleep issue that happens on every Mac I use it with.

11.2 beta hasn't changed the behavior for me. Those drops were never frequent for me, but they have happened from time to time. And it's hard to blame interference, because it's the same constant home environment. Every other day I have to turn Bluetooth off and then back on to keep the keyboard, trackpad and headphones connected. All are Apple devices. And when it starts to happen, it often happens again soon after. Then it might be gone for days or come back after a few hours. Intense activity on the computer seems to trigger it more often than light use.

There may be more than one root cause for the issues that people have, and this could be a side effect of some other bug.

Disabled 2.4 GHz band from my WLAN router and haven't yet seen any drops since... Will keep monitoring the situation.

I wasn't even using wifi on my Mac mini, but the nearby access point blasting at same band as where bluetooth operates would be prime candidate for source of the issues.

Interestingly I’m getting odd issues now with my Sennheiser wireless headphones and my Apple Watch. Not sure what’s going on with Bluetooth lately.

I have 11.2 beta on as of today. It got rid of existing bluetooth problems and so far there have been no more dropouts.

I have two user accounts on my computer that I switch between often. Sometimes, the keyboard / mouse connection would not work at all on one user, yet be fine on the other, even if I kept switching back and forth. This makes me think it's software.

11.2 *feels* (subjectively) faster, snappier, and more responsive overall, as though a number of bugs have been worked out.

Also, got a Huawei AX3 wifi 6 router, which are a great price. Can't say it's helped with bluetooth, but speed, page load, range all increased for the better.

I think there might be two separate issues with M1 Bluetooth people are experiencing.

When I removed all extra 2.4 GHz interference from the room (Hue Bridge, disabled 2.4 GHz wifi band) I didn’t have any jumpy mouse cursors, repeated keystrokes etc.

However I still encountered couple of occasions when Bluetooth stopped completely working. I saw the devices connected but my keyboard didn’t respond, mouse didn’t move nor Bluetooth speaker played any audio. This was fixed only by switching Bluetooth off/on in System Preferences or by rebooting the Mac.

To my understanding it is perhaps this latter issue that Apple is trying to fix in 11.2. However I‘m not sure can they help with M1 bluetooth chips being overly sensitive to other 2.4 GHz traffic in same space.
I still think M1 BT is not as robust as previous Mac’s. My ancient “late-2012” iMac didn’t have any of these issues with bluetooth accessories at the same location.

I just connected my Logitech keyboard and mouse with the Logitech Unifying Receiver rather than Bluetooth, and everything is now working much more smoothly. Now I can use my AirPods with my Mac with no interference with my peripherals. It all just works. Once I was done using the Unifying app to pair both peripherals, I just made sure to turn off 'keystroke access' ("Input Monitoring") in "Privacy & Security" prefpane.

I originally thought I'd be able to use my Logitech peripherals wired via USB, but then found out that the USB connections are only for charging these devices, not for controlling (unlike Apple Magic-branded products). The Unifying Receiver though is sort of like a 'virtual wired connection' though, so it gets me most of the way to where I need to be.

its interesting when I had my Magic Mouse 2 and AirPods (regular, gen 1) paired - MM2 disconnects, AirPods kept playing audio without hiccup

I used to have issues with my Magic Trackpad randomly disconnecting but its not happened for a number of weeks now so am assuming something has fixed it.

Just yesterday my Apple Trackpad stopped working, and then only worked while plugged in via USB. It wasn't pairing, but then did after 3 or 4 times restarting the trackpad. Finally paired again. There's been times where my Apple Keyboard doesn't work at the login screen, too. Then does after a reboot. I've been getting BetterTouchTool alerts about a Bluetooth device repeatedly reconnecting, saying it can cause issues with BTT. Looking into that leads me to believe there's some kind of Bluetooth power management "feature" that's just not working right.

what dongle are you guys using as a temporary workaround for lack of disconnects? is there one thats small?

By "dongle" do you mean like the Logitech Unifying Receiver? That's what I'm using for my Logitech devices -- I took them off Bluetooth and paired them with the receiver and it has made a *world* of difference in terms of the smooth connectivity and handoff of my AirPods. I have the Unifying Receiver connected to my LG 5K which then connects to my M1 Mac -- and I was worried this type of 'passthru' arrangement might mess things up, but it hasn't. Still crossing my fingers for 11.2 to fix things more broadly though.

How long does it usually take after a RC is released until the final release? I can't wait much longer :(

Just experienced the Bluetooth wonkiness with my MM2 and M1 MBP for the first time today, Magic mouse kept cutting in and out.

Interestingly, I think it was while our iPads were connected to the MBP (iPad 7th gen and iPad Air 4 were interchanged as I transferred content to and from them and each iPad). The bluetooth was turned off on the iPads and I am using Apple cables.

I’ll pay closer attention the next time I perform transfers, but this is frustrating.

Just checked with GibMacOS and you are right. Strange Apple declared it as "Release" in both the updater and feedback assistant. Previously RC releases have always been labeled as "Release Candidate".

I just had my first Bluetooth issue with my M1 MacBook Air. My Magic Mouse just stopped working and then, a few seconds later, my Magic Keyboard, too. The whole Bluetooth preferences pain seemed to be a bit of a mess as things were appearing and disappearing when I was trying to re-pair the two devices. Eventually, I restarted and managed to get them working again.

It's worth noting that I've had this setup for a while and have had no issues up until now so it's not a case of you have the issue on your M1 or you don't. Nothing has changed with my setup either. Anyway, let's hope 11.2 fixes these kinds of issues.

i experience the same issue on the newest macOS beta 11.2 :C - "connection lost" window showed up again
