it seems to be better in general on 11.2 for me, like much better. but I still get an occasional disconnect but nothing like before.

on 11.0.1 it was like at least once sometimes two-three times every hour after a while,

I can also conclude that 11.2 has improved BT stability, but e.g. when in Teams / FaceTime call Bluetooth audio quality is not sufficient. Also during Teams calls I had Apple wireless keyboard disconnecting few times.

Not perfect yet...

I'm still on 11.1, so I'd probably see some improvements just by upgrading to beta (don't want to do that yet as I have ongoing support case with Apple, and they advised me not to jump to beta yet) but I have also started to consider if there are some interference also in play here. I have Philips Hue bridge nearby which I proceeded to move this morning to another room. Plus I have wifi access point less than meter away from Mini. I don't use wifi on Mini as I have ethernet available, but I guess all this wireless traffic could have some effect.

If the problems continue I plan to disable 2.4 GHz band from my wifi AP and just leave 5 GHz band on.
It shouldn't be a problem.
I didn't receive my Mac Mini M1 yet but within a meter to my wifi router I have 2 PC's, an iPhone, a 65" TV (as PC monitor) with a BT headphone attached and a Philips HUE bridge.
Several Bluetooth devices work fine with all these devices. Never had any problems.
If I will have problems with the Mac I'm 100% sure it's the Mac and not an outside sourcee.
I really can't fathom that Apple didn't discover this while testing.

Received my second M1 mini on Saturday after sending the first back due to Bluetooth disconnects. I installed 11.2, no other change to set up from my first Mini, haven't had one disconnect so far in about ten hours of use. *touches wood*

11.2 RC2 seems the best build so far. I haven't had yet any drops in BT connectivity and BT headphone audio in meetings has been even at worst still OK. Dare I say "?"...

Any place but here or there....
Yes, my Magic Mouse 2 cut out 2x now. I think one or both of my iPads were near the M1 when this happened (I’ll pay more attention next time). Granted, I have not upgraded Big Sur yet from its initial install, but I will when I charge the MBP again.

11.2 RC 2 - nearly 2 days and 2 disconnections only - it's getting better and better - hope to have 0 :D

just discovered there's a new Magic Mouse 2 firmware version - earlier 0x0102 - now 0x0107

Don't know how mine got updated (or even what version they were before) but both my Magic Trackpad and Keyboard show 0x0107 firmware version in "System Information". I haven't plugged these in for several days.

seems mine is the same and I haven't plugged it in for like over a week or so at least, to charge.

I guess it updates wirelessly on its own. I never kept track of the firmware but that's interesting to learn its jumped.

Has it with RC3? I'm on RC2 still, probably just going to wait for final at this point

I'm still on 11.1, mine showed as 102 and I just left it plugged in all day and have come back to it and it now says 107. Not sure when it updated, was plugged in for well over 6 hours.

since you're still on 11.1, have you noticed improved BT reliability just from the MM2 firmware update alone ?

Or same deal?

I went a day and change without a disconnect, MM2.

would've never happened on 11.0.1

I still get some sometimes, I think, or did right after RC2, but they are still far and few between

Color me happy

I received my M1 Mac Mini last friday and the only bluetooth related problems I had were these.

1. I have bought me a new Magic Keyboard. Magic Trackpad and Logitech MX Master 3 Mac.
I had attached the keyboard and trackpad to the Mac Mini when I started it first.
The mac recognized my keyboard but not my trackpad. Removing and reattaching the cables gave a message that the trackpad was found. The keyboard was recognized but not as a Magic Keyboard.
The problem was that I could select the country with the keyboard but Enter didn't work to select it (and Return didn't either).
The trackpad didn't work at all though it was recognized and the mouse didn't do anything too.
After restarting I got the mouse and trackpad working (I can't remember how I got that mouse working) but it was really weird because the only way I could confirm the country setting was with a mouse click. It was not possible with the keyboard and trackpad.

2. After that I got everything to work but the keyboard wasn't recognized as the Magic Keyboard with Numpad.
Only after the <Option><Shift>Bluetooth -> Reset Bluetooth module trick it worked.

I almost immediately upgraded to MacOS 11.2 (it came with 11.1) and haven't had any problems since.

Anyone still having Bluetooth issues in 11.2 is affected by interference. Common causes:
- USB 3 devices
- 2.4GHz WiFi (especially with high transmit power)
- Other 2.4GHz devices
- Microwave ovens

For Logitech devices it often helps using the Unifying dongle. If Unifying suffers from interference as well, don't plug it in directly to your Mac. Instead, use some dongle / extension cable to get it away from your Mac. Also avoid plugging it into a USB 3 port or very close to an active USB 3 port. Instead use a USB 2 port. If you only have USB 3 ports available, use it with a USB 2.0 extension cable. This will get rid of the interference issues.
