Small update on my end. So I've spoken with the Apple Technical Support Team again and it appears that they are fully aware of the issue now and the questions they've asked me today have changed to:

- Which Wi-Fi frequency are you using (2.4/5Ghz).
- What monitor are you using.
- What display cable are you using.
- Do you have any USB devices plugged in.

I was told they are gathering this information from anyone calling in to pin-point the issue, so looks like this thread has been right on the money with where this issue lies for a little while now.

I'd submitted a diagnostics report to Apple on the 8th December which is being sent to the engineering team, along with any others I send between now and Wednesday.

A member of the Apple Support team has been assigned to my case and will be calling me back on Wednesday with (hopefully) an update from engineering, so I'll keep you all posted with what I find out then.

Another update about my interference, which I thought I had sorted by mounting the mini underneath the desk at the front.

When I Airdrop from my iPhone to the Mini, the Magic Trackpad and Keyboard disconnect, and will not reconnect at all, until I physically pair again with the lightening cable.

Nothing connected to any of the USB ports when this happens.

Getting to the point where I’m going to have to return it as it’s becoming frustrating and unusable.

For what it’s worth, I sent Apple support this thread when it was escalated. Past experience has been that Apple engineers do monitor the Macrumours forums.

This started to happen to me as well, but only after installing 11.1 RC yesterday. Magic Keyboard and Trackpad are gone, shown as AA:BB:CC ... in Bluetooth device list. Need to use a wired mouse the pair the the input devices again, after turning bluetooth off and back on.

I haven't found a consistent way to trigger this bug, but it has happened once yesterday and twice today. When that happens, turning Bluetooth off and back on takes an unusually long time. This looks like a software bug, though perhaps triggered by some interference-related reasons.

Other than that, all bluetooth devices worked fine for a week under 11.0.1.

For what it's worth, todays Big Sur update did nothing to address the problem.
Sad news indeed. I got my mini m1, i use cable mouse and keyboard, always had bad experience with Bluetooth. i got used to my airpods that drop all the time on this machine.
All my iPhones, iPads and te trusted MBP 2011, no issues.

I contacted Apple with the answers to the questions above and their suggestion was to update. 11.1 did not help my issue. I'll chat back with them tomorrow.

I’ve updated. But it’s a mess. The HomePod, iphone and Mac mini are interfering which each other that I can’t do calls via the HomePod. If I move the iPhone more than an inch from the HomePod, then the connection drops. All are on the same desk as the mini.

The good news is that using Bose QC35s headphones with the mini causes no such problems.

for me, the disconnecting rate is a lot lower than before
Same here. Still seems to be a problem but definitely occurs less frequently. Wondering if this will get fixed in the next beta (just in case 11.1 was all buttoned up before this was a known widespread issue)? ?

Doesn't seem to affect my Magic Trackpad 2 or Magic Keyboard, just the mouse ?

I am experiencing the same issues on my MBA M1 My Logitech Vertical Mouse is choppy at best, and my AirPods pro constantly disconnect. My G915 TKL keyboard also is flaky and the input lag is noticeable. I really hope this is not a hardware issue.

Been watching Youtube videos for the past hour now on the 11.2 beta and so far no stuttering with my AirPods! (Also fixed the weird laggy scrolling through Youtube comments in Safari.)

definitely having bluetooth issues
Open a new folder on your desktop.

Open Finder and go to ~/Library/Preferences/ folder.

Then copy all files having to do with Bluetooth in their name and paste them into your new desktop folder.

Delete all of those bluetooth files in Preferences.

Restart your system and everything should work fine (at least for a while).

Once you've confirmed your computer works fine you can then delete the new desktop folder.

If this is a firmware issue that is not going to work.

I don't think anyone knows for sure what it is, or isn't.

The instructions above came straight from an Apple senior tech.
Those are some odd instructions for a "tech" if they say to first put your bluetooth files in a folder - which sounds like they are not sure if it will work or not and are making a backup just in case.

I had Bluetooth issues with my Apple Trackpad and my APM. My cursor would pause while I'm moving it, and the APM audio would cut out every 20-30 secs. I did the above deleting of Bluetooth plist files, and updated to 11.2. beta. So far no issues at all.
