Probably time to call Apple. But if you want to try something else first, try playing music another way, such as using Youtube on a Safari page.Just the Music app. It’s a real pain.
Yep, M1 is nigh on useless for audio right now, unless you're only using Logic and first party plugins from Logic. My Apogee Duet's companion software doesn't recognise it. I've also had misc. 'Audio unit error' when running third party plugs in Logic. It's really powerful but between Big Sur and the new chip there is no way I'd recommend this right now for professional work or anything where you need reliability. I also do online streaming professionally and NDI doesn't work, which is essential for my workflow in Wirecast.Mac Mini M1 doesn't seem to like ANY audio interfaces. I've tried Thunderbolt (through adapter) Focusrite Clarett and USB Roland Studio-Capture. These are High-End units. Now they're useless because of Mac Mini. It's gotta go.
Yeah, even I feel scrolling is a bit jittery on my new M1 MBA, especially when the scroll comes to an end. On my 2018 iPad Pro, the same website is super smooth.dunno if am just imagining it but scrolling on my MBP is stuttering a bit especially when scrolling slowly

If you get obsessive about having a clean screen it will. Rub hard and fast in cleaning and you can take the coatings off any screen.Do you think that the staingate issue will affect the new m1 models retina screen?
Good idea. Thanks! I'm actually not sure if I noticed it while playing YouTube videos.Probably time to call Apple. But if you want to try something else first, try playing music another way, such as using Youtube on a Safari page.
I can attest to that: had a small spot in the middle of my own MBP retina some years ago. I used one of the Apple black cloths that used to come with every MBP, and rubbed just a bit too hard or too long it seems. If you get obsessive about having a clean screen it will. Woke up with my Macbook Air M1 having rebooted overnight with a "Kernel stack memory corruption detected"
Having it index for a few minutes after a reboot is normal. If it doesn’t stop after a day or so is a problem. My MBA M1 is indexing in spotlight after each reboot it and powering it on. Not sure if it's normal or a bug in Big Sur.
It seems like I have the same/similar issue on my Mac mini (M1); however no ghosting/shine-through that I have noticed. To me it appears with certain combinations of graphics. And with the Music app it can go bananas, especially when selecting certain albums in Recently Added with the menu bar flickering like crazy and the dock disappearing. The display is a brand new 4K LG monitor and it happens on both HDMI and USB-C to DisplayPort. I get a feeling this is related to software - Big Smurf. Ehrr. M1 Air ghosting, flickering with external display
My M1 MacBook Air has a serious problem with external displays. Pinging the brains here in case there are any ideas more convenient than sending back to Apple. Connecting directly via a known-good USB-C to DisplayPort cable, my Dell U2713HM (1) flickers, (2) shows vertical lines, and (3) mixes...forums.macrumors.com
Thanks for posting. This looks fairly similar to the vertical lines I had. Interesting to know it happens on a modern, presumably perfect-functioning display. It seems like I have the same/similar issue on my Mac mini (M1); however no ghosting/shine-through that I have noticed. Also seems to be much worse in dark mode.
So my 8/8 16Gb 512Gb MBA arrived on Monday and was an astonishingly capable and bug-free machine until this morning ...
1) Google Drive crashed and won't work reinstall (other M1 owners experiencing a lot of trouble with GD)
2) Dashlane crashes as soon as I launch it, so I'm having to use the web app
3) Safari crashes too
So that's 1hr lost already this morning. First world problems and to be expected in some ways, but not what I need if things remain this way.
Nah, I reckon the above will work out fine in time. GDrive not working is the biggest issue but I can't imagine Google screwing this up for much longer.try restoring it, if still having issues you might a lemon, return it to apple for a new MacBook.
I doubt Mail is using 31GB swap.View attachment 1690078 Soooo, I guess 8gb wasn't enough after all... Mail is destroying my MBA.
