I'm having so many different M1 issues with my 16gb mac mini. I'm ready to destroy it! I hate using it now! macOS Monterey has made the hate official. I've taking this screen recording of me trying to access Time Machine. 😔

My screen glitches out like that every time I log into my MBP while connected to a docking station.

I have some weird CoreAudio faillures with Logic (M1 Max though). I guess the same happens also on M1?.

I think it is simply bad Apple software that is causing it though, rather than a hardware problem.

I can't reproduce it. It just happens randomly when all audio stops working. Restarting the MAC fixes it.
I’ve been using Logic Pro very often on my M1 MBP for just over a year and have had zero issues. Sometimes I’m using 3-4 Blue Yeti USB mics and other times an old FA-101 Via a few adapters & dongles.

Do you use many plugins or just use recorded audio?

So I am not using Logic how those youtubers are doing it (who just load alot of audio tracks as a stress test). I am using many virtual instruments and effects.

Some? Not consistently but some plugins during post and mix down. Nothing fancy, though. Mostly Apple’s and some from having Cubase and some korg apps.

Good to hear that you have not run into any issue so far. I will wait and see how things go with a new OS update and / or Logic update.

If not, then I have to talk with Apple to see if I have a hardware issue maybe.

My Corsair keyboard and Corsair mouse are currently connected via a Thunderbolt hub. I've had the Corsair keyboard and Corsair mouse directly connected to the M1 mac mini and results were the same. I'm forced to use the hub to connect other required devices like my web camera.

I have an external HDD connected via Thunderbolt. I thought maybe the HDD might have faults, which might had caused the Time Machine issue. I disconnected the drive and there were no improvements. I reinstalled the operating system today and zero improvements there. Since Monterery 12.1 the Time Machine graphical glitch started on my mac. Sadly, the Corsair thing has been around for a while. Tomorrow I'm gonna sell this mini.

Fantastic FA-101, working flawlessly from old Power PC and OS9 over intel OS X (all versions) up to Monterey on M1 mini! 🥳

Palm rejection (moving mouse pointer with either meaty part of palm of thumb or pinky) on MBA M1 running latest MacOS still broken. After one year unlikely to be fixed ever.

Yeah! I was worried about having to run thru a FireWire cable to a USB-A to USB-C adapter, but all is well! One of the best purchases I’ve made.

My issue is: M1 is too new thing. Lot of unsupported cpu, intel cpu is required, related errors..

applications have not yet been recreated. wine, virtualbox, etc.

I have an M1 13" Macbook Pro battery issue?
Health 84%
Cycles 107
Condition Poor

I haven't noticed any problems but it is concerning the condition reports as poor. Should I ask Apple to replace it?

I am guessing you keep the MacBook plugged in? That is why low number of cycles. Use Al Dente to limit the maximum charge. It seems to at-least has worked for me.
Mine fell to 94% in the first 6-7 months. It is now at 93%, 130 cycles and 13 months in.

M1 is new, sure, but not sure what you mean by “lot of unsupported cpu”, but they’re literally making the hardware their software runs on. So

As for the apps, I don’t use Virtualbox but Parallels has been great for me on my M1 MBP. I’ve been using various HomeBrew apps, too, and have had no issues. In fact, I’ve got a ton of apps installed, mostly native apps, but even the apps running via Rosetta have been great. I mean, if you need Windows via BootCamp, sure.. go with Intel.

I keep mine plugged in connected to a dock maybe 85% of the time and have a low cycle count, but my health is still good. I wonder if there’s something running that’s causing the battery to run more?

If it is still in warranty then definitely. No modern MacBook battery should be in poor condition after only 100 cycles.

You’ll get a replacement battery at the very least no questions asked.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking but at the same time when I do run it on battery it seems like it runs fine. That's why I felt a bit on the fence if I should schedule an appt with Apple or not. I have the 3 yr Applecare on it. Most of the time I have it plugged into a Caldigit TB Dock.

Isn't the policy 80% for Apple to replace it under warranty? Keeping it plugged with optimized charging turned off will do that.
