now that I have my Mac mini say that am happy too report that my LG 32UL500-W works this find with the Mac mini M1 using HDMI cable so this monitor can now be added too the list

Getting a lot of weird issues with the MSI MAG274QRF-QD via both HDMI and USB C. Via HDMI I'm getting the pink rectangles and every so often lines across the screen and via USB C all the colours are off (even with changing the colour profile) and the refresh rate is stuck at 120 instead of 165. HDR makes the colours look even worse on both, they end up white/washed out. The monitor works fine with my Intel Mac.

I have issues with the LG 32" 4K 32BL75U-W monitor. Frequently when I wake up my M1 MBA, the screen scaling is all messed up and I can't even see app icons at the bottom, the clock etc. It's as if the MBA or monitor forgot it was using a scaled resolution and the image is sort of.. zoomed way too far in. Only work around I've found is to click the Apple icon, System Preferences, Display, and pick a different Scaling option, then back to the one I like (1440p).

Using my MBA in clamshell mode, connected to CalDigit Thunderbolt Station 3 Plus via Thunderbolt, and Display to the monitor.

one thing I will report is that this computer monitor dos not hurt my eyes or give he headache like the apple iMac monitor did

Mac mini M1 with LG 32UD99 - USB-C connected (LG provided cabling).

Never a problem of any sort whatsoever. If the display was smaller, had a chin, and wide bezels I'd think I was using my old iMac.

Mac Mini M1 ----> Cable Matters 6' cable USB-C to Mini DisplayPort ---> BenQ PD2700u

I have the M1 16GB/256GB with the LG 32UL950 32” 4K TB3 monitor. It is connected USB-C to USB-C TB3. It has sleep/wake issues and kernel panic restarts. I have posted on several forums and Reddit subs about my issue. The only way to have a stable environment (for the most part) is to change the DisplayPort on the monitor from 1.4 to 1.2.

Not thrilled by this option as I loose the HDR option within Display Preferences on the M1 and can tell the functionality isn’t as fast as it is using the 1.4 setting. I’ve opened a case with Apple. They told me that 11.2 (I’m up to date with 11.2.2) was supposed to fix a majority of display issues with the M1 — WRONG for me! The LG is an excellent display, but I guess I just chose the wrong one for my M1 at this time.

M1 Mac Mini Dual Monitor Set up:
HDMI to HDMI | WireLogic 12ft Sapphire | SONY BRAVIA 65" X900F LED 4K ULTRA HD HDR | 4K 60Hz
Apple USB C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to HDMI | WireLogic 12ft Sapphire | LG32UN800-B 32" UltraFine Display Ergo 4K UHD HDR Freesync IPS | 4K 60Hz

Issue:
Running 11.2.2, Using a Logitech MX Master keyboard and mouse, bluetooth drops if computer is restarted. Bluetooth connection is fine once I log back onto the system, however I have to log on using a separate Logitech keyboard (this keyboard is connected to a USB-A Logitech Unifying radio receiver, plugged into the Mini’s USB-A port) and then reconnect the MX Master.

Fix:
My bluetooth connectivity work around is so simple that I’m surprised it even came to me. Logitech ships their products with USB-A radio receivers. That small dongle that most of us take for granted because we’ve become accustomed to bluetooth (I only used it with my separate less expensive Logitech keyboard). I paired both MX Master keyboard and mouse to the same receiver that was connected to my cheaper keyboard and plugged the receiver back into the Mini and NO MORE ISSUES. Doesn’t matter if I restart, lock my screen, log-off, etc. And honestly, there’s no difference that I can tell between being connected via bluetooth and using the receiver. Wasn’t using the USB-A port so thank goodness for extra ports. :)

Issue:
Cannot sleep the Mini when connected to the two monitors. If I try to click on sleep (upper left Apple icon, drop down menu, “sleep”) the monitors will not sleep and the LG will go black once and turn to what looks like an inverted contrast color.

Fix:
Cannot fix without restarting the Mini. Or, when I’m done for the day, use the “Lock Screen” function (upper left Apple icon, drop down menu, “Lock Screen”). This will keep the colors on both monitor and TV normal and leave it normal until I log on again. So there is something with the sleep function. Perhaps it’s the system software, perhaps the result of HDMI? So far using the two HDMI cables has worked well and is convenient so I don’t plan on changing to DP or USB C. I’ve also read that for the LG monitors, the color presets are not available outside of HDMI or DP (and I’ve found them to be useful) so I probably won’t be going USB C for that reason alone.

Conclusion:
For both monitors, I use a scaled 1980 x 1020 view. The text is crisp and there’s a good amount of screen real estate for my needs. I've tested 4K 60Hz on both monitors, no issues. So far I've been very happy with this setup. The Mini is a powerhouse and I've been thoroughly enjoying using it to consume 4K content and do web browsing and email.

I looked up the specs and compared your LG32UN880 to my LG32UL950. I couldn’t locate your description above of LG2UN800, but found UN880, right? Very similar displays — difference being the Thunderbolt 3 technology for the most part.

I might try to the Lock Screen option, however, it seemed with DisplayPort setting on the monitor at 1.4 I would find the system had restarted on it’s own at times. Will give this a test today.

Yup... the UN880-B, here's the link to B&H:
Very similar monitors, you're correct TB3 being one of the primary differences.

So it randomly restarts with DP 1.4? Interesting... that was going to be my second option had the HDMI not worked. Curious.... since you have a really nice Thunderbolt Display, why aren't you using the 40 Gbps Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt connection? I guess DP 1.4's 38 Gbps is almost the same.

The only thing I've noticed when using "Lock Screen" in order to make my LG monitor not do its weird color invert is that if I lock the computer (the Mini is not technically sleeping yet) and then the Mini sleeps, the LG will still be affected. However, if I turn off the LG first, and then I click "Lock Screen," and then power off my Sony, all's well when I turn the LG on again.

****General question for anyone readying this post:

What I don't understand from my Google knowledge quest.... is how are people are getting 4K 60Hz using USB-C since USB-C tops out at 10 Gbps. 4K 60Hz requires (on HDMI) about 17.82 Gbps. But most USB-C monitors on the market advertise 4K 60Hz. What am I missing?

I'm guessing this is because USB-C carries the Display Port signal? So... from the back of my M1 Mini, I'd have to go out from USB-C and run a cable to the DP input on my LG monitor? Amazon sells these cables... Or I guess you'd have to buy a USB-C to DP adapter and then run a DP to DP cable to your monitor?

But what about the people who run USB-C from the back of the Mini... straight to a USB-C input on their monitors? That's only 10 Gbps. I'd appreciate it if someone reading this could shed some light on that for me. I ask because I may want to use USB-C in the future for other computer to monitor connections.

I will clarify my connection. I am running USB-C to USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) cable (supplied from LG) from the M1 to the LG. The DisplayPort 1.4 to 1.2 is a setting on the monitor itself. The connection is only stable when I change this setting on the monitor from 1.4 to 1.2. I tried several different cables that support up to 40 GBPs — I can tell when I run 1.4 setting the display and M1 function very FAST — but I have the sleep/wake and restart issues. So perhaps someone can explain more to me as well on what I’m really getting until Apple creates a fix “so they say they’re working on”?

Gotcha.... well best of luck getting this figured out. Hopefully Apple releases an update soon.

Thinking of getting mac mini m1 and will be connecting it to Benq Ex2780Q 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor with PPi of 109. Will the text be clear or blurry/fizzy ?

Samsung U28R550UQU (UK)

28" 4k seems to run perfect. Gorgeous picture. Has the wake up issue with Mini M1 as others. I use it on HDMI. Wakes up if I press off/on on the monitor but also mostly when I press caps lock. Why ? No idea but it works OK on a MacBook pro so I suspect Apple have an monitor wake signal compatibility.
But as I say other than that its a brilliant monitor

Dell P2415Q

HDMI to HDMI - 30Hz 1920x1080 best for monitor; monitor menu shows 2160p; color format YPbPr; colours look exact same as on my MBA 2014 internal display;

Still waiting for USB Type-C to display port to give it a try.

UPDATE: a fairly cheap USB Type-C to DP cable solves the problem - 60Hz 1920x1080 best for monitor, other resolutions are also available; color format YPbPr; colours look perfect.

Have added my Dell P2421DC to the list. M1 MM received yesterday and have had no problems. Cheotech USB-C to DisplayPort cable recommended on the RGB monitor thread and works fine (https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHOETECH-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B0744GWJ8X)

now just need to decide on speakers & webcam & retire my iMac
Congratulations! It’s nice to hear reports of those with the M1 and a monitor that does NOT have issues! I hope to be in the mode one of these days!.....
