I was talking about Satechi not offering thunderbolt, RayCue is clearly thunderbolt

Ah ok.

Since no one appears to have received any RayCue docks yet, we'll have to wait and see if any will actually be Thunderbolt 4.

Well ... the email partially updates us. Looks like they underestimated the excitement from across the pond. ;)

There was NO option (that I saw) to choose between two versions of this product last month on pre-order before the new M4 Mac Mini was released. Hopefully, I'll hear back from them about the potential to upgrade my order in a separate email reply from support. 🥹

Any idea what those 3 additional ports are?
For me, 40Gbps SSD + SD and microSD ports on the front - would be ideal...

I have no idea how anyone can even make a TB4 dock that sits under the Mini…..all the external TB4 enclosures I tested, with or without fans, generated significant heat. Seems less than ideal to stick a hot enclosure underneath a Mini.

I've seen some reviews that say that the wifi and Bluetooth are affected by this stand. Can you please run some tests and see if that's true? I'm more interested in the Bluetooth aspect, I'd hate for it to cut off the mouse connection.
I'm not really the person to ask as one of my Decos is like 2 feet away but I've had no issues. I do use bluetooth head phone and the range seems the same as my previous mini in a vertical stand

I was wanting to order the RayCue Dock, however I was confused by part of their warranty policy. I tried emailing sales@ to no response.

RayCue's policy allows returns within 30 days for general items.

However it also says:
Please note that certain situations are not eligible for a refund or exchange:
If 72 hours have passed since you received the item.

This seems to contradict itself. Any ideas?

I'd be wary - I've emailed them about 5 times now over a 10 day period and gotten ZERO reply

I'm about to go into PayPal and open up a case if this continues

Only one. Someone is Hong Kong has ingeniously capitalized on the excitement for the M4 Mac Mini claiming that they've already shipped 500 units. I'm starting to NOT to believe them.

Has anyone here received their order yet?

Mine is moving. The latest tracking shows: 2024-12-29 06:43:16 Arrived at the origin international airport----Hong Kong, HONG KONG, HK. Hopefully I'll see more when the package is transferred to UniUni for last mile tracking/shipping. Shop app says delivery between Jan 1-4.

I just got mine... :)

It won't work just connected directly to the host - well, it didn't for me. You need to have a 5V, 3A USB adapter plugged into the wall and then connected to the 5V/3A USB-C socket on the rear.

But technically, all Thunderbolt certified ports have to delivery 15W which is 5V3A power? This means the dock should get enough from the mini's TB port. Just make sure you are using the back side ports.

Is this Amazon listing the same RayCue dock product? From the Amazon product page description:

"This Mac Mini docking station is equipped with a built-in Hard Drive enclosure, capable of running M.2 NVME/SATA, Supports up to 8TB and most SSD sizes (M.2 2230/2242/2260/2280). NOTE: Connect the extra USB-C charging port (back of the dock) for adequate power supply when using hard drivers in case of disconnects."

Are you using an SSD in it?

Not sure how it's designed. It probably would work if you just had it as a USB hub, but if I was outputting 4k30 from the HDMI, had a downstream USB A hub connected and etc.. I'd probably connect a power supply to it.

I don't have an SSD in there at the moment, but I've got one I'm going to put in soon.

I could try to disconnect the 5V/3A and see if/how it runs without it?

Does the box or the manual print somewhere a list / table for accepted V/A combination? Like you would see on a multiport USB charger or battery bank?

From what we see so far, it seems likely the 5V3A is indeed the minimal required for the bare dock functions to work, and any extra bus powered device plugged including the built-in NVMe should add on it. The USB-PD in of the dock has to allow probably something like 60W at 12V5A so to avoid needing more in 100W / eMarker cables / charger.

Oh, got it. I’m quite surprised there’s not an included power supply.

So ... 5V, 3A adapter would look like what? The big brick plug or the smaller ones? After all this time in the Apple universe, I still get confused on what power bricks do what ...

The Apple 20W charger for iPad is a 9V2.22A / 5V3A plug.
