Something like iOS has would be great. And for those who do not have a scroll wheel, there could be an option to bring back the old scroll bars.

The OS could detect if the mouse has a scroll wheel and hide the blue scroll bars if it does (replace them with something like the scroll indicator in iOS).

  • Latest OpenGL support
  • Vertical traffic lights (like in iTunes 10)
  • Blu-Ray support
  • Old (or better) Expose
  • Same system requirements as Snow Leopard (or lower)
  • Some cool/useful stuff

i'd love to see a lot of what you guys have been talking about, but for me my biggest day to day gripe of Snow Leopard is not being able to right click a file/folder in a stack and get a context menu appear, therefore making it impossible to find a file in a stack and copy/paste it somewhere else!

If you have a STACK open, hold down the Command key and click on the file to open the appropriate Finder window.
It's a workaround, but maybe enough?

All I want is better Mobile Me services and integration. For a service I pay for, it's pretty pathetic. Maybe (like another poster suggested) something like outlook where Mail/Calendar/Contacts are incorporated into one app. iDisk should be more "seamless" (like dropbox). Find My iPhone should have a desktop app. And finally, perhaps most importantly, Back to my Mac should be much more powerful. Namely, it should have a windows counterpart. How many people need to connect back to their mac from another mac? Most offices/cybercafes/universities/hotels use PCs. Almost every situation I can imagine where I would have to access my mac remotely in a pinch involves me connecting from a PC. I don't want to install VNC software or something else, I may not have admin access on that PC. I want to be able to access it from the web, from me.com. LogMeIn has an excellent implementation of this, there's no reason Apple can't do the same. Not only could they allow remote control access, but remote filesystem browsing as well. I think this would be a huge plus in an increasingly wireless world. It's like cloud computing but using your home computer instead of a server. I don't want to pay for 500+ GB of cloud storage when my mac at home is a perfectly viable fileserver. Apple... make this happen, it would be a killer feature for MM.

If you like Windows snaps, you should try hyperdock:

http://hyperdock.bahoom.de/

Thanks for sharing the info. I already use the Windows snap as part of the BetterTouchTool. The only thing I like about Hyperdock is the Dock’s Quick look features, Apple should build it in.

I don’t even care if it is stealing Microsoft’s design, MS has won that round. I may be wrong and it came first from a Linux OS, but the fact is MS is the first to bring it to the mass market.

@Apple, start your copiers and bring those over to Mac OS X.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this a feature that the crap vista had, A feature that Mac OS X 10.7 needs is good speech recognition that can type what I say into any apple application as right now, Mac Speech while it has potential I don't like it compared to the Windows version.
And a final thought Do any of you think there will be a QT event live?
If so, I want it to work with my XP box as it if from 2006 and runs pretty well compared to my G4 Mac from 2001 :apple: Quicksilver 867 Mhz

It won't, it uses a technology only Safari has implemented. I see you have an iPod touch, it's going to work with it.

I hope

Fast OS switching so I don't have to reboot every time I come out of bootcamp.

That would be wonderful but you think it will happen... I hate those VMWARE and other crap software I am a software programming Management student and it would be nice to be able to switch from OS X to 7 faster...

Two requests from me and I'll be completely happy with OS X;

Resolution Independence.

Cut and Paste in Finder.

I would like to see the following:
  • Better Finder. A split view would be nice.
  • Better Mail, iCal and Addressbook apps. I would like to see more features, especially in iCal and Mail.
  • An improved GUI. Better way to organize apps.
  • A virtualization technology built in.
  • Blu-ray support.
  • A system wide app uninstaller.
  • Better Exchange support.
  • Tighter integration with MobileMe

What do you mean by cut and paste in finder?
Cut and paste files? It can already do that?

No it can't. Plenty of threads about this arguing -- former Windows users fret about missing cut and paste while Mac old-timers point out that it isn't necessary. The debate never ends!

Light Peak....

I think Light Peak support or something that has to do with that will be uveiled tomorrow. If I´m not wrong they both will come out by the same time. And as some of you might know, Apple has been great supporter of this new technology. I hope this is the new revolutionary technology Apple is hiring new people for.

If this is true, they would go ONE BIG STEP FURTHER! :apple:

Great suggestion !

The OS could detect if the mouse has a scroll wheel and hide the blue scroll bars if it does (replace them with something like the scroll indicator in iOS).

Also fix the progress bars to other style, the aqua thing is old.

It would be cool if certain default apps (Finder, Disk Utility, Dock, etc.) had "Expert" modes that you could enable to allow more advanced controls.

Do you mean go into Finder - let's say I go to Documents - select the file, then cmd-C to copy the file and cmd-V to paste it into another folder? Because it works on my MBP. Cmd-X doesn't work to cut it, but copy and paste still does.
