Sorry if I insist but can I leave all 2 gpus installed? the gtx960 connected to the monitors and the gt120 no!
If you need to detach the cable connected to the monitor from the 960 and attach it to the gt120 without having to disassemble and reassemble the gpu if you need to reinstall OSX.
it would be more comfortable for me if it doesn't create problems clearly.
thanks.

Look, I cant give you an affirmation of something i have not tested.

On the other hand, feel free to proceed as you wish, you've started a couple of threads and lots of people reacted with loads of recommendations and practical advices.

Note that the answers you received are based on years of experience doing the same or very similar steps you're planning to do with the MP3,1.
I encourage you to read a bit more (Google or here) and test it, so you'll find your own way to get this magnificent machine as you'd like to.

You cant expect people to answer any possible question (even less within a few hours).
You could e.g. look for a Service Manual of the Mac Pro 3,1 to get more insight about maintenance, troubleshooting etc etc etc

So I removed the gtx 960 and also the ssd with windows 7 installed.
I installed the original gt120 arrived yesterday x mac pro 3.1, connected the gt120 cable to the monitor and put a blank ssd, inserted the original installation dvd 1 mac pro 3.1 and started the mac pro.
Nothing to do black screen and nothing can be seen, the DVD can be heard spinning for a few minutes and then stops, I also tried to change the DVD player instead of the integrated one on the mac pro I connected an external one, nothing changes.
After restarting with DVD inserted I clicked ALT then I tried with C and then I tried to restart without clicking anything but always black screen, then either the gt120 does not work or it is not his or what else could it be ???
I'm going crazy!
thanks.

I would make a bootable usb installer of El Capitan on another Mac, test it on the other Mac, plug it in your MP, start it while keeping the option key pressed.
This way (with the GT120 installed) you can install El Capitan and go from there to High Sierra.

Sorry to hear. Do you have an old pc somewhere to test the Nvidia card? This is the first thing what you need to test, you need to make sure to have a working video card. Try and test a different pie slot. I assume you are using a DVI monitor cable, maybe the dvi port on that gt120 is bad and only the mini display port works?
Try to reseat the card, maybe it’s not proper located in that slot.

Another possibility is that the DVD installer is previous to 10.5.6 .
The GT120 (if OEM) should work with OS 10.5.6 up to 10.13.6

unfortunately I don't have another mac available, it would be okay to stay with windows 7 pro as they are but I have a 120gb ssd with 20gb free only, so it would be enough to clone my 120gb ssd on another 240gb ssd but how can I do?
which software to use free?
thanks.

The gt120 in the picture is the correct model, thanks for the confirmation. Out of my experience, those cards have not reported as a type that is likely to fail. You can do one last check and boot up with an open side door to see if the fan of that gpu spins up. Other than that the card is probably ok.
The next search for failure is to check your installation process, meaning - are all needed drivers available, in your case,- is this the correct DVD that you use?
In one of the Upper threads from you, you have mentioned MacBook Air. Is it possible that you somehow have a wrong install medium / DVD from a different device?
Maybe you have the wrong installation DVD? Does it say Mac Pro on it?
There are several different installation DVDs out there, (Full retail, device specific ones (grey) and special editions as well as self created ones) to name view.
Make sure to use the correct original install medium.
As Mr. Kees already mentioned this morning, if in doubt, create your own install USB Stick.
Don’t purchase the HMI cable, I would not go this route.

On this dude’s comments section, you can find the links for the OS X installers. H.S. Might be to old and might not be available any longer from the official consumer App Store.

It's version 10.5.2 = too old for the GT120 (post #33).
You will have to make a usb installer .

At this point I resign myself to using it with windows 7 pro since windows 10 pro does not work on mac pro 2008.
Thanks everyone for the advice.
