Congratulations! Hope that means mine is coming soon -- maybe they ship geographically; Maine, where I live, is next door to Quebec; therefore my MacPro (ordered 8/7) should be on the way, n'est ce pas?

Got mine today, finally. Threw in the extra GB of RAM, and the 300GB HDD I purchased... and am now sitting on a fairly clean system which is pretty quiet (except when you turn it on).

Well I went to Fedex and they said they had my mac pro but they coudlnt' give it to me until they attempted delivery, but after not letting up for about 20 minutes, they finally gave in and I was able to take my mac pro home....setting up boot camp now, then I'll try to install Oblivion...if my slipstreamed CD works...I ran out of blank ones so I hope I did it right =)

Glad they were able to find it Damado. :) Saw one report on the Apple forums where a MacPro was reported by the driver to be "stolen off the truck". Had to wait a couple of weeks to get another.

Attached is a pic of the ram sinks I put on the $169 1 gig Kingston sticks.
You just peel the tape off and stick them on...the middle is where the controller is so that's probably the only part that benefits from it.
Most newegg reviewers don't even put anything on and they work great.

What about the huge heat-sinks? I've heard it's best to get the OWC (Other World Computing) ones because they are the only ones that include the sinks. Thoughts?

Ok, I got bootcamp installed. I'm installing FEAR, COD2, and GTA:SA.

Man, I can definately tell there's some crappy read/write speed goin' on. It's taking FOREVER to format the drive in the windows installer. I'm only at 20% and it's been a good 30 min.

Hmm, you think the slipstream didn't work correctly?

I'm still reinstalling OSX on a bigger HD...then I'll try installing my slipstreamed windows on the smaller one that came with it.

I'm not even that far yet. I'm at the format stage. The installed hasn't even gotten a chance to install the SATA drivers. I'm hoping this is just a one-time deal. How's your install coming along?

The boot off the win CD took about 4-5 mins, then I started formating and made 2 partitions one 100 gig which will be my NTFS an the other 60 gig which I'll make fat32.
I chose quick formatting and that only took like 1 minute. It's 42% done with copying setup files now.
I'm only going to be using windows for a couple of games so I'll never even fill half the drive. My OSX side has 2x320 gigs. I mainly play wow and I can do that on the OSX side.

Edit: Copying setup files took about another 5-8 mins or so total and now it's saying 39 mins left for install. Time to keep watch some more prison break =)
So much for that, it already finished. Only took 18 mins. Now to install the bootcamp drivers.
Bootcamp drivers mostly installed...just gotta figure out what some of the exclamations are now. I'll also download sandra and HDTune.
Ok this 8 mb cache seagate 7200.9 gave me 56 avg on the HD in hdtune. Not bad. Windows only recognizes 2 out of the 3 gigs I have in there. Not sure why. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the "Base System Device" and the 4x PCI-E exclamations. I'm also downloading 3dmark06 to test out the x1900. I plan to test it with the boot camp drivers then install the latest catalyst and test again.

About how long does it usually take from having an uncancellable order to getting a shipping notice?
