My 10/24/16 64GB 4TB order has been sitting at the Hong Kong airport for several days. How long do orders sit there before heading to the USA?

Six days in HK for my Ultra. It flew out to HK to Taiwan this morning. Expecting it to show up in Alaska this afternoon before getting to Arizona on Monday.

My 20|48|128|8 arrived 19 April, way ahead of the estimated 5-11 May, regardless of a few delivery hiccups along the way.

I can safely say, it is quite remarkable, and a HUGE upgrade on my last system, an i9 9940 14 Core 64 gig RAM 3070 PC. Massive jump in not only processing power, but latency is reduced to negligible. It does everything totally effortlessly.. and yes.. completely silently (in my case). Its quite astounding how little heat this thing creates even running at full pelt. Can't hear any fans or whines at all. Incredible machine. Quantum leap.

For a more (and probably waay too) detailed explanation.. I use it for music production, mostly Studio One & Logic and it can run an aggregate of 3x Presonus Quantums (over 100 Channels I/O) at 24bit 96Khz at 32 buffers, even at the end of a session!! With all the plug ins and automation you can throw at it, in Studio one it still runs on minimum drop out protection, with no dropouts. Never breaks a sweat. Wowzers.

What is even more hilarious, is, it can do all this *whilst* running Windows 11 on parallels, and PC only projects I need to load still run, simultaneously, better on an emulated system than it ever did in real life on a PC. How does that work?

In short, for audio anyway, this thing is an utter beast. Ridiculous performance means all you can eat plug ins, virtual instruments, a limitless track count, low low latencies, no clicks, no pops and it does it all quietly, with no heat and in a little desktop package, with more Thunderbolts than Zeus himself. Its even got an SD card reader. Brilliant. As good as that first cheese-grater 'Leap' was. Love it.

Congratulations! I think you've pushed me to find the extra money for the Ultra. I run very large projects @ 24/96 and want to have the freedom to have flextime enabled, a few Kontakt instances, a high quality mastering/master bus chain and even drop the latency and re-track something (with real time low latency monitoring and fx) towards the end of a mix, without having to freeze or bounce down. Sounds like the Ultra can handle that.

I also often have to bounce in real time and the occasional pop/click that I or clients notice later on is wasting my time. I want a pop/click free life!

Lovely desk too btw! Is that a Buso? Do you find that the keyboard tray hits your knees, or is the keyboard/mouse too high? I'd love to have the best of both worlds (keyboard AND a computer keyboard/mouse/DAW controllers) but it always looks like a compromise. Thanks!

This is the bit that has most impressed me, no sludge at the end of mixes, and I've never been able to run successfully at 32 buffers at 24 96 before this machine.

Thanks.. Yes. A Producer XL. Knees dont bash at all, although I'm not a tall fella. Great, versatile desk.

When did you order?
I ordered on March 16. The weird thing is that Apple predicts a May 3 delivery now, but UPS tracking predicts delivery TODAY by 7:00PM. Yet their tracking shows it is still at Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong. (Airport) I assume UPS hasn't updated their tracking, but I'm waiting for UPS to ring my doorbell today. I can hope!

I had the same situation, and it sat in Hong Kong for another 6 days. UPS will update your delivery info tomorrow after it’s not delivered today. The update will basically say we don’t know so keep checking.

Still no update. I’m starting to become furious (I know, I’m wrong). Shipped on the 17th, supposed to be delivered on Monday (there’s no way it happens) and absolutely no update from either dhl or apple.
That’s bs, they could provide us with info even though they use different carriers.

As I said previously, I’m supposed to send back my macbook pro (trade in) and I’ve lost 1 week already.

First time I buy a cto, and first time I find apple customer service to be horrible.

Sorry guys for this negativity.
Being frustrated is totally valid! And the anticipation can wear on anyone. At least yours shipped!

I'd love to know when you see movement or get charged. I have the same configuration (with 2TB SSD), ordered March 21st and I have the same deliver window.
My Ultra is a 20/48/64GB with a 2TB SSD. Ordered with edu discount on 3/12, estimated delivery 5/31-6/15. Tomorrow marks 7 weeks with no update... I'm very tired of checking the status 4 times a day to see if there's any update.

Why are you checking the status four times a day when your delivery window is May 31-June 15 :)

As far as I know, Apple has not been changing delivery windows until it sends out notices that it's debiting accounts and is about to ship.

Because some people in this loooong thread got their Studio several weeks early. One guy had the same config/edu order as me, placed just a few days earlier than mine - and he already received his.

And also because I want it now now now. 😄

Congratulations! I started following this thread after doing a Google search for Apple products being hung up in Hong Kong. I ordered a Mac Mini on the 17th and it's been stuck in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong for several days... I hope you don't mind me infiltrating your thread. It's just so nice to see that the Macs do eventually escape Hong Kong Limbo! I was originally given a date of May 3-5 for delivery, so I am trying to be patient. But UPS has been jerking me around with all this "it's arriving tomorrow" BS and I don't know—misery loves company I guess—I'm glad it's not just me who is putting up with the uncertainty.

I have one that has been in Hong Kong since Wednesday. UPS said it would be delivered Friday -- until it wasn't as it was still in Hong Kong. I have read that Studios can take a rest in Hong Kong for as long as a week. Apple says May 4 delivery and they may be right even though that is 11 days from now. Of course Apple says Applecare will start on April 27, so maybe that is the date. Its all a great mystery and what is especially annoying is UPS must know that its delivery date system is broken for Apple products and yet continues to send out misleading delivery information. At least after it was not delivered Friday they now say "Pending Delivery Date" meaning they don't know, which may be the most accurate they can be.

Mine has been stuck in Hong Kong since last Wed. UPS gave me a delivery date of Friday, then the dreaded "we don't know" message, then another delivery date of next Monday 4/25, then again the "we don't know" message yesterday. Today I again get the Monday delivery date, and when checking the shipping progress I have a new entry of "Cleared Import Customs", so that may be the reason for the delay.
