The MX series don't connect over a wired medium - so it's wireless only. Even if you use the receiver, obviously.
Yeah, that's what I didn't realize going in.

However, I think someone said they were able to setup wirelessly with the Unified Receiver. But then, doesn't that require a software install? If so that doesn't make a lot of sense.

If the Unifying Received require a software install, I'll have dig out the Apple keyboard :/

For those of us who arrived in Lousiville early this morning:

I know that most of us are going our separate ways from here, but have any of you left Louisville yet?

I would definitely keep it handy. 😁 But maybe the Unified Receiver is plug and play. I use it on a Windows laptop but don't really remember what setup involved.

I have a couple old Apple keyboards lying around but I didn't have enough AA batteries on hand to power both mouse and keyboard. Would have been completely out of luck if I didn't have that Satechi lying around. Or I guess my fastest solution from there would have been to run and pick up more batteries.

Another thing is that I think the Mac wants to see the mouse first so it wasn't apparent that the Satechi kb would work until I got the Magic Mouse connected.

Aside from all that, which did waste about an hour, setup was very smooth for me.

The delivery date according to Apple is estimated at 1 April. I am still waiting. Nothing happens. Support tells me that package left the warehouse in Shanghai on 23 March. I heard that DHL does not update the tracking status too often in the case of shipments from China - is that true?

I was just checking My Choice and no new scans since landing in KY which kind of surprised me b/c the last filight to Philly (which is where my express packages always fly into despite not being the closest airport to me by far) just departed about an hour ago.

Its very possible scans haven't been uploaded to UPS's server yet, or could be since it's the weekend UPS is trucking some packages rather than fly them to save $, but, I'm not sure if UPS tractor trailers roll on Sunday. I looked at FlightAware and didn't see anymore flights from Louisville to Philly until Monday evening. So that's my story. Will update if anything changes for me.

Absolutely, It's being shipped by another carrier to Koln or The Netherlands and then handed over to DHL. That's when you'll see an update.
FYI my mac sutdio (I'm not the only one on this thread) was shipped on the 17th and is due to be delivered on Monday.
To this day, we have absolutely no update.
All we can do is wait.

Yup, us Europeans are all on the same boat apparently
You customized your Mac Studio, yeah?

Mine is still sitting in Anchorage after clearing customs with the status…
Mine is the same status as yours. I was happy to see it's in Anchorage. It spent most of yesterday (Friday) and today (Saturday) clearing customs.

I was happily surprised to see a status chance on a Saturday. Yay!

I hope you’re right about throwing them on trucks, because I don’t see a single fight to my area out of Louisville scheduled through Monday evening. I also don’t have an estimated delivery date anymore.

Mine just toggled to shipped. I ordered about 15 minutes after the event concluded on March 8th: M1 Max 32 core GPU, 1TB SSD, 64GB RAM. Expected delivery date was quoted as 3/30-4/6 and now it says 4/4 arrival. 😎
Now UPS says Tuesday 3/29.

Is Louisville the last location before it reaches our own local area? How do you check?

I like the base M1 Max that I got a lot, and now that I have some experience with it I'm seriously thinking about returning it and ordering an upgrade. Current delivery date would be June 15-29 :)

I just got a departure scan from Shanghai... no clue where it's going but this is basically the first tracking update since it arrived in Shanghai last Wednesday.
