Mine spent 3 days in china, an afternoon in Korea, then 2 days in Alaska going through customs, and now sits in Kentucky. UPS claimed it was going to be delivered by 7pm this past Friday... but I expect Apple's delivery date of March 30 is more accurate.

Overnight my Mac Studio changed status to shipped. The original delivery estimate was this Wednesday, March 30. At some point, that was changed and now there's a message that the package is delayed in transit (it is in Shenzhen, China) and that delivery will be rescheduled. The outside window is April 4. My Studio Display still shows as processing.

Yep, same for me. Ours must be in the same pallet:

Mine has not moved from SHENZHEN since it was picked up and DHL service information website says SHENZHEN "service suspension until further notice", so I suspect there may be a long wait.

No worries. UPS is consistent once an Apple package is domestic, plus it has the weekend too boot, so really no excuses. I 100% expect to see mine Monday.
Mine is still showing cleared customs (Anchorage) and nothing else. It says delivery date will be updated soon on My UPS and on the general website, "delivery date unknown" which is kind of ominous.

That seems to be par for the course for all shipments coming from China and also meaningless. I think it's fair to say right now the majority of Apple shipments from China to the U.S. take approx. 5 business days from delivery from "Shipped" notification to drop off at your location. Looking at other's shipment reports here, and my own, don't be disappointed if your order is stagnant in Shanghai for 2-3 days.

It will get updated next scan. If you cleared customs then good chance it will be on its way to Louisville tonight. If so good chance you'll get delivery Monday.

Mine is "delivery unknown" too, but it's in KY so I know it will be off to Philly this weekend and trucked down to me for delivery Monday.

I wonder why the shipments are being held for so long in China. Apple and UPS have usually been really good about getting things through in 24 hours.

Nothing too strange about that. The general history of tracking Apple stuff with UPS is that you'll get an estimate at initial ship, it may disappear in the clearance and export process (where the variance is in ship timelines), and you'll get another (usually pretty solid) estimate once it's clear.

Flights can either come direct or through nearby airports to Anchorage, and then they go to Louisville. If they're early enough (then tend to land in the middle of the night in the US), there's a possibility that they get sorted and back out that same night, but I often see them sit in Louisville for a day. The next night, they get out to the airport nearest the destination and on to the local endpoint for delivery.

Tracking updates seem to be triggered by specific events. That's why some folks see estimates for delivery on a given day when it's clearly not going to happen (i.e. if it's not out for delivery in the morning, you're almost certainly not getting it that day). That day estimate update doesn't seem to be triggered for an update until the local endpoint closes out for the day (same with FedEx incidentally). Remember that this is old, well-tested if inflexible data architecture. For example, it took them months to update the "Label created" text to indicate that they didn't yet physically have the package despite a lot of complaints at the outset of the pandemic (expensive phone call volume to handle).

Max /32 core / 64GB / 1TB, ordered 15 minutes after the system went live on the 8th.
Original expected date 21st / 22nd March, to UK.
Covid delayed to 1st - 5th April, now '31st March'.
Payment taken on 18th, but showing in banking app as 24th?
Shipped by DHL Tuesday 22nd.

Still showing as 'Shenzhen, picked up China Mainland', 4 days later...

I ordered mine right after the Apple Store Online was available after the Keynote and first time ever I see a delay from Apple, at least in my case. Shipped from China yesterday, supposed to be delivered by UPS this next Monday 28th. It was scheduled at the beginning to be delivered on March 21…Can’t wait to pair this beast with the Pro Display XDR!!! Only 2 days left 🎉😎

My guess is availability of planes/flights. Certainly there is no advantage to UPS to hold them other than not having enough planes to put them on plus all the other shipments they have from other companies.

Its all good. Flights from Anchorage to Louisville don't happen until later tonight (EST). But, my own experience is that my order was on a 5pm plane from Anchorage last night but it didn't show in my tracking until this morning after it actually landed in KY. Just a data point.

When did you get that message? I’ve been buying Apple products for years and never has shipping been this epic journey.

Not really a big deal. I am all good as long as it gets down here on Monday. After that I am on business travel for the rest of the week.

It has been quite the journey…

Mine's in delivery delayed too (Apple thinks the 4th for delivery), but I had some Lenovo Laptops that arrived this week and they went through the whole same process. I think Shenzhen is having some infrastructure problems still from Covid. It turned out we received the laptops 2 days before Lenovo said they would be there and UPS only noticed that the day before we got them. Maybe UPS is having timing problems too!

Update: Now it says it left Shenzhen, Apple still says the 4th, UPS says I'll get it the 29th. I hope that's more accurate!

I’ve come to the conclusion that if mine doesn’t leave Shanghai on a flight today then there’s no way it’s going to reach the UK and the new delivery estimate of Tuesday either! Never had such a story of twists and turns like this when ordering from Apple before…

Still no update. I’m starting to become furious (I know, I’m wrong). Shipped on the 17th, supposed to be delivered on Monday (there’s no way it happens) and absolutely no update from either dhl or apple.
That’s bs, they could provide us with info even though they use different carriers.

As I said previously, I’m supposed to send back my macbook pro (trade in) and I’ve lost 1 week already.

First time I buy a cto, and first time I find apple customer service to be horrible.

Sorry guys for this negativity.

Mine received scans for departure from Anchorage and arrival in Louisville, but also has the “delivery date unknown” status — so yours could have made the same flight and just wasn’t scanned.
