Still don't see anything relating to sleep unless you are talking about the Do Not Disturb section where it says "When the display is sleeping"?
Yes that's it you want that box checked. Your telling the system to not disturb you with any notifications while your laptop is sleeping. By default that option is not checked. I can only say this worked for me I no longer lose any battery while in sleep mode.

This worked for me too. I'm on the latest beta version of Sierra.

Charged my MBP to 100% and went to bed. Still at max battery percentage when I woke up, whereas before I'd lose around 2-5%.

Here is my status after some testing:
I tried the No notifications while sleep box checked, it did not work as hoped. My battery still drained over night every now and then.

However. The solution presented that included entering recovery mode and terminal and editing some system files (changing true to false regarding TPCkeepalive) seems to have worked perfectly.

I did the changes a few days ago, and I haven't had any drain during sleep since. I don't even get the 2-3% that seems to be accepted. I go to bed with 100% and wake up with 100%.

As far as I'm concerned, for me this is SOLVED.

For those that are still losing overnight try changing hibernation to disk only mode:

sudo pmset -b hibernatemode 25

Only lost 0.x overnight

Just got my new 15"/460 on Friday, charged the computer yesterday evening and left it without the power plugged in. Nine hours later the battery is still at 100%! Did not change notification settings, but power nap was turned off.

Too early to say anything about general battery life, it's been quite busy downloading all my dropbox files, Creative Cloud apps, etc.

It came with 10.12.2 installed.

The builtin battery percentage from macOS doesn't show the same amount of juice left as for example coconutBattery, when macOS shows 100% remaining coconut shows a couple of percent lower.

The battery keeps track of two "max" charges.

The design capacity, what is stamped on the battery and the current full charge, which with a brand new battery may exceed the design capacity by a couple of percent.

The difference you see is probably due to what the app consider to be 100%.

Ok, it's good enough for me too be happy though, even if it did drain a couple of percent over night. I've been using it for two and half hours on battery today, doing retouching in photoshop the whole time, playing music on Spotify and using Safari a lot for googling stuff, and I'm at 47%. So I should get around 5 hours on battery with the 460 active, which I also think is very good.

Might install coconut battery and check properly though.

I'm not talking about capacity's but battery levels

That I understand but the % remaining shown is based on the capacity (=current charge / capacity).

Hence different capacity leads to different % number.

My MBP currently shows.
96%; Cap=6664: FCC=6931; Design=6669

Cap = Current capacity (in mAh)
FCC = Maximum capacity at full charge (the maximum charge my battery can - take degrades with the number of charge cycles)
Design = The design capacity (same for all 15" MBP - do not change)

That has always been like that and Coconut battery is spot on with the percentage and macOS is fudging the number and showing 100% when it is not. I suspect so people don't get worried when it shows fully charged but not 100%. If you look in System Report and the numbers and do the math, you will see Coconut battery is correct and the OS is wrong.

See my earlier comment. The app (Coconut Battery) is correct and the OS is fudging the percentage.

See my screenshot. 4375/4418 is 99% yet the OS shows 100%. That 4375/4418 is the same as shown in System Report.

Just upgraded to the macOS 10.12.4, and the problem returned. Apple, wtf are you doing?! This is obviously a problem for a lot of people. If this is a function and not a bug, at least give us a simple way to turn it off!

Ugh I noticed that too. Haven't had the time to go back in and change it via the posted methods. I hope they still work.

It did not return for me...I checked the box as soon as I got my 15" 2016 last week and a few days after getting it I updated to 10.12.4 and the box is still checked "Do Not Disturb while sleeping" under settings > notifications. I lose very little overnight, maybe 2 or 3% which I feel is nothing.

Hi guys

UK user with a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) running 10.12.4 (16E195) and I have the battery drain issues exactly as you guys are reporting. So far i have set do not disturb overnight (no change), changed the power settings (no change), performed and SMC/PRAM reset (no change), re-installed Sierra (no change). Annoying. Note the logs below are NOT while connected to the mains unless slated and I do not have any devices "connected" to the mac.

My console logs from a random day this week (clamshell sleep until plug into AC next morning):

Has anyone had a breakthrough with a fix, Apple do not want to acknowledge the issue when I did an online chat with them

Every night I unplug my MBP (2015 15" with AMD) from power and peripherals. Some 10 hours later when I wake up, it normally lost 0-2% battery.

Last week I woke up in the middle of the night while the computer was heavily spinning its fans. When opening the screen it did not turn on, so I forced it to shut down and went back to sleep. Next day it only had 60% battery.

Last night though it drained fully to 0% (no audible fan noise as far as I can tell).

I need it to be charged in the morning and don't like this odd behavior.

Power Nap is turned off on battery.

How can I see what it did during the night? Console doesn't seem to show anything from before shutdown by default?

Is anyone else experiencing battery drain while their MBP is connected to AC? I don't understand how/why this would happen. The logs below show a steady decrease in power while the MBP sleeps. The entire time, it was connected to AC. This is quite frustrating. Is this an issue with the battery?

Try a different AC adapter. If you don't have another laying around, Apple Store can test that for you.

If the issue happens with a different power adapter, then I would next suspect either a bad DC-in board or bad battery (or possibly both are bad.)

Oh yeah ... it's possible that you may just have really dirty contacts on the MagSafe port or cable. If you do, try cleaning them before doing any of the above.

My tbMBP 13" was at 60% when I came home it was 100% when I went to bed last night.

Do no disturb while display is sleeping enabled.

No overnight drain on my 12" rMB.
