if you can write your feedback after installing it !!!

Will do.!! Honestly haven't experienced any crackling issue..yesterday I might have heard something when I was downloading office 365(From Safari) ya know how the file moves to the download folder, could have sworn I heard something, maybe I was trippin, but played a song on iTunes and heard nothing, now I don't put the speakers super loud, just normal enough for me to hear and I hear no crackling but will be on the lookout with the new Mojave update

Mojave installed: the popping when muting sound seems solved for me too.
The only issue remain the poping when you are surfing through youtube video for example

I just installed it and played a loud youtube video and while changing volume the crackling was all over the place. What a joke. Thankfully I'll get my refund in 3 days.
try a clean install of Mojave....the only issue remained, is the time changing on timeline on youtube
Changing the volume is not an issue

It is a clean install... and the silent hiss on the background is also still present which my previous ones also had. Maybe I'll buy a 2019 model if the Macrumors forums aren't filled with complaints about them.

macrumors will always have complaints....that doesn't mean all the units have it
This is my second unit...the first has SSD hiss sound when using black magic or copy large files and the pop up noise when muting or scrolling through youtube.
Now on the new one,i had only the 2 pop up sound issue, the ssd noise is gone and now with mojave its gone even the muting pop up....the only remaining is the scrolling through youtube
What hiss on the background do you have? the fans are silent?

until Mojave, if you listen to itunes radio, if you mute/unmute a few times, a high pop up sound came out

guys, I can confirm that in my case the issue seems solved. I'll write here if I get some weird sounds again.
The Mac was 4 days old, so maybe mine was like a fresh install ;)

Okay, Mojave installed, though, my issue isn't fixed. Completely same, random micro interruptions of audio when playing through usb audio interface.
I'll try to make a clean install and that's all I can do to sort this ********.
p.s. keyboard just started to make double strikes again. on "w" key this time. FML

Far out.. hissing remains.... 2017 had it too.

I guess I'll just have to be an ******* and ring apple up and ensure they ship me 2019 when it becomes available, as replacement, to check.

Out of curiosity what interface are you using? I've updated to Mojave and I'm still having the same problem.

I’d be interested as well. I have the same(?) random dropout and occasional cracking with USB audio in both a Focusrite 2i2 (2nd gen) and a Focusrite Solo (1st gen). Internal speakers seem fine. Still on 10.13.6 with a 2.2, 560x, 1TB, 32GB. I get the dropouts in dedicated audio apps like Logic and just playing a YouTube vid. This seems like a software issue and sounds like a buffer or sample rate issue, but it’s a total no go for any actual audio work at the moment. I may try Mojave, but if it’s not fixed, I don’t see much of a point.....and then it’s a return and play lotto with a new machine or just wait until rev 2 in 2019 or whenever or pray that it gets fixed in a software update soonish..sigh.

Mojave didn’t do much for me. I have an RME UCX interface with a 2018 MacBook Pro 2.6, 1TB, 32GB, and it does the same thing. I use Ableton, but the audio dropout/distortion happens even using iTunes or Safari. I had Console open when it last glitched, and there were a bunch of errors with Coreaudiod, unfortunately I don’t really know what that means. I called Apple (for probably the 8th time) and they escalated my case and are sending a snapshot of my system to the engineers to take a deeper look.

So probably not a interface specific issue if you’re using an RME. And both the Focusrite and UCX are class compliant, so no manufacturer drivers in the way.

I’ll take a peek at my logs and see if anything useful pops up. It *seems* like a software issue and I haven’t had any KPs (or other issues) with this machine....

Edit... nothing in my logs, but I had shut down the laptop already...though errors shouldn’t be transient logs.

Out of interest, do you use the original Apple usb-c adapter?
I have the same problem with a Motu interface but so far only tried 3rd party adapters. Can't imagine it making a difference, but still...

Ok guys, interfaces: mine - focusrite 2i2 2nd gen, also tested with komplete audio - same issue, though, I've written to Jon Sine (noted producer vlogger on youtube) and he has no issues with arturia interface (which is also usb)
About the adapters, apple's original adapter is the best so far, I do notice some problems with hub/adapter from aukey so i just use it for controllers and dedicated usb port/adapter on the other side from hub with all controllers connected.

P.S. Did you notice that with this T2 latency went down significantly? yes, it does this stutter sometimes, but actually it's faster then before, you can measure that with just placing cable from output to input and measuring offset (latency numbers in DAW were never realistic until now with usb devices) offset will be 0!!! (or 1) instead of 20-30 or smth. Tested with 13" 2016 non touchbar laptop. couldn't do the same with 2016 which i had before but I'd dare it would have offset as well.
So there are some benefits but seems like this T2 just isn't performing as it was supposed to.

I see everybody talking about adapters and their problems.

I would like to know how is the quality of the sound from the internal speakers. Are they also still crackling?

Crackling speakers is a major annoyance, but not being able to do your work in the audio field with a new €4000+ machine that is advertised for that kind of work is devastating.
Anyway, I think the problems are related.

I couldn't ever notice that. Speakers and 3.5mm audio jack performance was always adequate for me personally, though, I don't use it as much but I did some tests and it was fine.

what's also interesting is that I never had these micro audio drops while using bootcamp. that's really funny, windows is working better than macos
