try a clean install of Mojave....the only issue remained, is the time changing on timeline on youtubeI just installed it and played a loud youtube video and while changing volume the crackling was all over the place. What a joke. Thankfully I'll get my refund in 3 days.
Mojave installed: the popping when muting sound seems solved for me too.
The only issue remain the poping when you are surfing through youtube video for example

Changing the volume is not an issue
what is solved for you? what part?guys, I can confirm that in my case the issue seems solved. I'll write here if I get some weird sounds again.
The Mac was 4 days old, so maybe mine was like a fresh install
It is a clean install... and the silent hiss on the background is also still present which my previous ones also had. Maybe I'll buy a 2019 model if the Macrumors forums aren't filled with complaints about them.
Out of curiosity what interface are you using? I've updated to Mojave and I'm still having the same problem.Okay, Mojave installed, though, my issue isn't fixed. Completely same, random micro interruptions of audio when playing through usb audio interface.
I'll try to make a clean install and that's all I can do to sort this ********.
p.s. keyboard just started to make double strikes again. on "w" key this time. FML
I’d be interested as well. I have the same(?) random dropout and occasional cracking with USB audio in both a Focusrite 2i2 (2nd gen) and a Focusrite Solo (1st gen). Internal speakers seem fine. Still on 10.13.6 with a 2.2, 560x, 1TB, 32GB. I get the dropouts in dedicated audio apps like Logic and just playing a YouTube vid. This seems like a software issue and sounds like a buffer or sample rate issue, but it’s a total no go for any actual audio work at the moment. I may try Mojave, but if it’s not fixed, I don’t see much of a point.....and then it’s a return and play lotto with a new machine or just wait until rev 2 in 2019 or whenever or pray that it gets fixed in a software update soonish..sigh.Out of curiosity what interface are you using? Mojave didn’t do much for me. I have an RME UCX interface with a 2018 MacBook Pro 2.6, 1TB, 32GB, and it does the same thing. I use Ableton, but the audio dropout/distortion happens even using iTunes or Safari. I had Console open when it last glitched, and there were a bunch of errors with Coreaudiod, unfortunately I don’t really know what that means. I called Apple (for probably the 8th time) and they escalated my case and are sending a snapshot of my system to the engineers to take a deeper look.I’d be interested as well. So probably not a interface specific issue if you’re using an RME. And both the Focusrite and UCX are class compliant, so no manufacturer drivers in the way.Mojave didn’t do much for me. Out of interest, do you use the original Apple usb-c adapter?Mojave didn’t do much for me. I have an RME UCX interface with a 2018 MacBook Pro 2.6, 1TB, 32GB, and it does the same thing. Crackling speakers is a major annoyance, but not being able to do your work in the audio field with a new €4000+ machine that is advertised for that kind of work is devastating.I see everybody talking about adapters and their problems.
I would like to know how is the quality of the sound from the internal speakers. Are they also still crackling?
So, the internal speakers are still crackling, right?Crackling speakers is a major annoyance, but not being able to do your work in the audio field with a new €4000+ machine that is advertised for that kind of work is devastating.
Anyway, I think the problems are related.
I couldn't ever notice that. Speakers and 3.5mm audio jack performance was always adequate for me personally, though, I don't use it as much but I did some tests and it was fine. So, the internal speakers are still crackling, right?
what's also interesting is that I never had these micro audio drops while using bootcamp. that's really funny, windows is working better than macosCrackling speakers is a major annoyance, but not being able to do your work in the audio field with a new €4000+ machine that is advertised for that kind of work is devastating.
