I'm really happy with my Thule EnRoute Duo 2. The laptop compartment is well protected, and it has a little extra pocket for an iPad or eReader or what have you. As far as extra stuff goes, it has two front pockets and two side pockets. Very useful.

One minor nitpick I have, is that the bottom does not contain enough padding for my tastes, like you described. If you let the laptop slide/fall into the laptop compartment, it'll bump into the floor.

Will check it out.

You might check Waterfield Bags (http://sfbags.com), I've used quite a few products in the past and have been very happy with them. They have all kinds of sleeves, bags etc. for Macs.

I have used their leather Muzetto bags for years and been very happy with them.

If you just need something thin and light they just released their Maxwell sleeve that looks pretty nice.
I agree. I have the staad atache. Fits ipad and MacBook Pro along with extra accessories. Great quality, looks, and slim profile. Here's a link to it and attachment of the one I ordered: https://www.sfbags.com/products/staad-attache-briefcase#product-tabs4

Just picked up the Timbuk2 command. Really sharp looking bag - professional enough of what I need, tons of pockets, comfortable, and a perfect fit for the 15" rMBP (at least in size M). Highly recommended.

I purchased this sleeve from Mujjo earlier this summer, when they had a sale. Can't wait to start using it with my new MacBook Pro 13" (w/Touch Bar) in Space Grey. It fits both the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro 2015, so I reckon it will do just fine with the new model as well.

I can recommend the sleeves from be.ez. I've had them since my first white MacBook (which was very fragile), MacBook Pro 2009 and air(2011) and survived all sorts of crashes and bumps. It uses Low Resilience Polyurethane, feels like some sort of memory foam.
They make them for the specific models so it fits perfectly.

I don't think there are many out yet. Incase is working on theirs and allows you to sign up for a notification when they are released.
Link to preorder? So what material is inside their sleeves? Foam? Microfiber? Both?

The designs look great! Good prices too.

does anyone know the dimensions of the new 15" mbp w touchbar? i guess we could all kinda shop around better if we knew the dimensions or at least how thinner/smaller it is compared to the current 15" mbp...

i was just thinking of getting one of those "hardshell sleeves" or whatever its called (its a sturdy material thats wrapped in cloth...i have a lowepro camera case and slappa headphone case made out of it...i think its called eva foam or something...its kinda soft & hard at the same time lol)

So I have never really bought a sleeve before since my Laptops were never worthy of them :p
Since I ordered the new Macbook Pro 13 inch, i would want some recommendation and suggestion.
What would you prefer, a sleeve or a hard case ? And are the higher end sleeves worth it? Do they provide extra protection or are they just better looking ?
And what brand makes reasonable sleeves. Any good ones with in 50 euro price range ?
And of course are they available in EU (Netherlands to be precise).
I know these are a lot of questions, but I am in very unfamiliar territories here :p

guys im getting one of these & i might just keep a small microfiber towel in there to take up some space if its too big. just $17. then i usually put a few strips of gaffers tape (adhesive residue free when removed) to add grip and act like a "skin" on my computer...so my macbooks have always been matte black even tho i got the space gray this time.
