My WaterField Outback Solo Laptop bag arrived
I was tempted by that, but without a handle, I was hesitant. Instead I'm almost sure about getting ZIP LAPTOP BRIEF. It's not shown, but it includes a should strap and the medium size fits my 15" MBP and has a spot for my iPad

My WaterField Outback Solo Laptop bag arrived. These people make some of the nicest cases for our electronics! The Outback Solo is perfect and has a front pouch that will hold your charger, dock, cables and more, while the interior pocket is lined in soft neoprene to protect your baby. There is an additional pocket in the back that also will hold my papers or your iPad Pro 10.5. The exterior is waxed canvas with a leather flap that locks in place with a very strong magnet!

Nice case! I love Waterfield products. I have the Staad Attache that I purchased for my 2016 MacBook Pro.

Can you charge MBP with the Incase 13" ICON Sleeve with Woolenex for MacBook Pro - Thunderbolt 3 Port (USB-C) case? It kind of looks like the laptop is set in the case and blocking ports.

On this, can anyone here vouch for Incase sleeves? They seem to have good reviews generally, and I’m thinking they might offer more protection than a leather sleeve.

For the 2015 it fit perfect. For the MacBook....perfect. For the 2017, large enough gaps that I didn’t feel secure.

Unless they changed it, avoid it.

WaterField on the other hand....stellar company. I love my Bolt briefcase.

What I like about that case over the zip case, is that it has a leather flap. Many of Waterflield cases offer then (or full leather cases). I think that's a nice look, but I use a handle often to carry the laptop around so sadly I have to look for another model, which is why I'm zeroing in on the zip.

I also considered the Air Porter, but that's a bit too large for my tastes, and the price is way out of bounds of what I'm willing to pay - looking at almost 400 dollars. Likewise the Cargo Laptop bag as some features I like and I was leaning towards that as well, but I decided against it at this point

Mine has the shoulder strap which can be removed if you wish and possibly a handle added. What is great about Waterfield is they have a lot of choices. Love than my MBPro slips in and out of the case with out fighting with it. The Zip looks like a great case. If you get it let us all know how you like.

Could anyone recommend me a Good laptop sleeve for the 15 inch. I'm sold on purchasing the moshi iglaze and want a nice sleeve to accompany it. Apparently the incase sleeve with magnet won't fit the MacBook with hardshell.

One really good case that I found on here a year ago that hasn't been mentioned recently is this Caison 11.6-12.3 inch sleeve from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ANGVE7S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It fits the 13" like a glove. There is protection on the top so the zipper doesn't scratch our MacBook Pros. The front has a zippered pocket with 2 small pockets inside. I keep a USB-C to USB 3 dongle and thumb drive in one, and a lightning to USB-C cable in the other. For the price paid, it is extremely well build.

MaFlynn, if you are looking for a good case with a handle, have you looked at Pad & Quill?

The Valet is nice, slim, and has the handle.....

didn't realize you cannot put it in a backpack with the sleeve. Guess I won't be picking up the order.

I think you are focused on the wrong thing. Clearly the backpack did NOTHING to the MacBook... I carried my 2014 around for years in a backpack and will carry my 2018 in one. The question to ask is what else was in the backpack? What caused that kind of pressure to cause that kind of damage? There is nothing magical about mac products. Mistreat them and they will have problems. Treat them well, and the do fine. I realize common sense is not in vogue these days, but seriously, the backpack is not the problem.

I've always ended up with Incase sleeves for my MacBooks, same thing happened again. I ordered the Incase Compact Sleeve in Reflective Mesh from Apple Store here in Norway with my MBP 15" 2018.

It does add some bulk, but from experience they are well padded all around and got a nice plush feel on the inside, plus I like the different styling, not just boring plain black as I usually have got before.

I have been looking into getting that sleeve, wondering if you know if a 10.5" iPad Pro would fit in the front pocket?

I don't have an iPad Pro 10.5" to test with right now, but I highly doubt it will fit because the pocket is just deep enough to fit a standing iPhone X with 1cm to spare. The iPad Pro 10.5" is 3cm wider than an iPhone X is tall.

Does anyone have the Pad & Quill Field Bag Messenger with a 15" MBP? In their video they said it fits, but sticks out a bit. Was curious how much it sticks out.

TIA/

Got the $20 Tomtoc zip case for 13 inch because I needed something. Not very soft inside and bulk is bulky but it's a tight fit, so good.

Can anyone recommend a budget sleeve that fits the new MacBook Pro 15 and has a bit of padding?
