Now that I've had my new MBP for a few days, I can vouch for the Apple Leather Sleeve. I still think it's overpriced, but the quality really is top drawer. 13" MBP fits in quite literally, perfectly.

Edit: My only slight problem with it is that I have to carry my charger/dongles separately o_O

I really want a soft leather messenger bag that I can put my charger in, and possibly my iPad Pro. Any ideas?

Received my Harber London leather sleeve and this thing is LUSH! It’s very good quality, genuine leather and it feels and smells amazing. Not as synthetic as the Apple official one.

It’s not as tight as I thought it would be but it fits the MacBook Pro 13 perfectly. Might go back and buy one for the iPad Pro!

Are you able to snap a pic or two? Thanks!

I think you are focused on the wrong thing. Clearly the backpack did NOTHING to the MacBook... I carried my 2014 around for years in a backpack and will carry my 2018 in one. The question to ask is what else was in the backpack? What caused that kind of pressure to cause that kind of damage? There is nothing magical about mac products. Mistreat them and they will have problems. Treat them well, and the do fine. I realize common sense is not in vogue these days, but seriously, the backpack is not the problem.

I must have misread but the recommendation was to not use the case and put it in a backpack? I have a Tumi backpack thats well insulated and never overloaded. SO I think it should be fine?

I really like the look of my 2018 15" MBP in space gray. So I am thinking about just getting a skin for it to protect it from scratches. A clear one would be great, but I cannot find one. Any suggestions?

I got a metal series for my 2016 MBP TB, inside and out. It’s held up great and looks good.

How do you like it?
I really like It and it is unique. It does ship from China - I paid for express shipping and it normally takes two days to make it. Order was placed on Sunday and I received the sleeve on Thursday in the same week.

That’s a nice sleeve and nice you can personalize it with your initials, my only problem with this case are the large buttons and cord that are pretty raised up and could get snagged on something and pulled off. I like my snap closures on my P&S.

They have a snap version

69 euros is decent value imo.

Also I’m looking for something like the Harber sleeve below but will still allow me to charge whilst the MBP is in the sleeve.

I know Woolnut do but they only offer 2 colours :(

It shows almost $150 for me :) Too much. I would much rather go with Harber London you've linked.

Hmm, I wouldn't charge any laptop that is inside a case. Don't know why - guess I'm a little bit paranoid. ;-)

ICON Sleeve w/ PerformaKnit for MacBook Pro 13"- Thunderbolt (USB-C) - $89.95

https://www.incase.com/icon-sleeve-with-performaknit-macbook-pro-13

Weight: 275g (vs Inateck felt sleeve which comes in at 140g)

People complained about the fit of the previous generation of Icon sleeve. This new one nails it. Just enough clearance to get my 2018 TB MBP in and out smoothly and easily, but snug enough that there’s zero movement when the flap is closed. The orientation and fit of the opening means you can charge the MBP while it’s protected.

The build quality is solid, though I have concerns about long term durability of the stitching at the flap hinge. The design means you pull on the threads every time you open and close the case - bar-tack stitching would have helped.

My main issue with the case is the material choice. It photographs well, but in person, the look and feel of the fabric isn’t terribly luxurious - certainly not enough to justify the list price. It‘s like a cross between an inexpensive knitted jumper (sweater) and conference room carpeting.

Right now InCase.com has a 30% code (BTS30), but even ~$60 doesn’t feel like good value. If you’re sold on a Tensaerlite sleeve and trying to decide which one to buy, I’d recommend ordering the Diamond Ripstop and Woolenex variants too, see which one you prefer, and return the ones you don’t like.
