The 16" M1 has a rather big 140W power adaptor. If you're getting a carrying bag, you need to factor that in.

The M1s form factor are idential to the previous intel. Didnt require new designs.

Let me clarify my last statement in case we are talking about two different things...

I don't think the design of the new 16" MBP has changed to the point that it won't fit in a bag designed for that size computer. However, as far as custom-fit is concerned, that's another matter.

What I am looking for is a plastic enclosure case that permanently encloses the top and bottom of the MBP to protect it from falls and scratches. The dimensions of this new 16" MBP are different from the 2019 model. Videos online have already shown that.

I am guessing it will be a few more weeks until the accessory companies catch up with their offerings.

I’m looking for the 16” MacBook Pro (2021) Keyboard Protector - there seems to be no new one available anywhere!

Any updates would be appreciated.

I was a little surprised to look up MacBook protective covers -- the plastic ones that snap on the top and bottom of the actual computer for protection -- and the ones available on Amazon for the 2019 model say they also fit the 2021

Seems kind of odd. I wouldn't think the dimensions are the same nor the cutouts.

I still have my 2019 cover and when my MBP arrives on Friday I'll see if it fits. I'm not being optimistic it will.

INCASE wrote me back and they said they have no knowledge of new cases for the 2021 models. That seemed odd as well. They told me they would pass it up the chain as a suggestion.

The 14” is slightly larger all round than the 13” M1 MBP, but it looks like there will be sufficient room in my Harber London Laptop Case sleeve. I’ll know next week… ?

OK. Now I know.

It fits.

But only just.

(Might stretch over time...)

However, any form fitting case is "no chance".

It certainly can according to Apple

I use to have
- palm rest/cover
- keyboard cover
- external shell cover

Because of the bad plastics of external cover on the bottom that lost its form, my old mbp does not close firmly with the screen anymore!
Maybe I will take a pair of external shell now for the new mbp 2021, and use only the upper part for the screen.

Keyboard cover? I absolutely need it.
I keep my macs for many years. The keys cannot afford my pressings for all years, guaranteed.
Should I obtain the habit, to remove it everytime I finish using my mac, when I will have my new mbp 2021?
Will it harm the screen?

Palm rest/cover, what about it?
In my first mbp back on 2006 I did not had such thing.
So, after some years, this part of mbp had lose its original color!!! Awful!
So in my new mbp I got one. At least moshi cover deteriorated and not my mbp color!!!
And now, on 2021, what to decide?

Terrible about the lid closing. What make of shell was it?

I’m really nervous about using a shell with my new Space Grey 14”, I heard it scratches easy and putting those shells on isn’t that gentle a process. ?

Anyone know if the tomtoc 360 will work with the m1 max 16inch? My 5600m 16inch model from last year fit beautifully but this appears to be larger. I just picked up the m1 max 16 today and I would prefer to use the sleeve I already own.

Wow. Waterfield announced this awesome tech folio with custom sizes for the 14" and 16" right after I bought a different bag from them. This would definitely fit my needs better, though.

Ordered my MBP 14” but since i travel a lot, what do you recommend putting it in when TSA makes you take it out of your bag/sleeve? Is there something you say, or do you just put it in the bin with no sleeve?

Issue I have is they always chuck it around in the bins.
Snap case maybe?

This may sound dramatic, but going through TSA with my $3000 laptop and feeling powerless as they instruct me to leave it uncovered in the grubby bin is one of my least favorite parts of life. Trying to figure out how to best remedy that situation going forward.

Seems like bag/sleeve makers had no idea this product was coming out.
For reals, I keep searching and reached a dead end. Hopefully 2-3 weeks these companies start releasing some products compatible with the newer models.
