Well, I don't know if this will lead to permanent (cosmetic) damage... but I wouldn't want my MacBook to look like this at any time to be honest...poor baby...??shall I be worried about tomtoc case?

That's a bummer to hear (about the product and attitude).
Was it tight to the point where you had trouble actually taking out the laptop?
It shocks me that they didn't care. When I initiated a return they asked specifically what I would change about the product and apologized that it didn't meet my needs. Sorry to hear you got that attitude. Might be someone newer over there, their founder (who sometimes answers the customer service email) definitely would've cared.
Incase did the same thing to me and I was shocked. I wanted them to ask about it, apologize, try to make it right etc. Nope, just got a "ok, send it back. here is return label. thanks"I agree. The person wasn't rude or anything but it was surprising to me they just told me to send it back , not that that's a bad thing either lol.

I have dBrand Black Swarm for my 2019 16” MBP and love it. Fit was really good - all the holes for the bottom side cover matched up and the Apple cutout was spot on, too.

The skin is thick, so you have to be very careful when you apply. When I applied the cover skin to my M1 MBA, I had to remove partially and wasn’t paying attention… ended up with a noticeable crease mark once fully and correctly applied.Thanks. You just sold me on the matte version for the 14" while I'm waiting for TwelveSouth to make a new BookBook for the 14s. Did you have any troubles in reapplying it if you were off on it the first time?

Yes, I do not want to try it. So I am thinking to return it and not put my loved M1 Max into it.Well, I don't know if this will lead to permanent (cosmetic) damage... but I wouldn't want my MacBook to look like this at any time to be honest...poor baby...??

Agreed w/ @beach bum . Mine went on fine in the first pass. Any vinyl wrap is tricky, and once adhered, if you have to peel it up, you need to do it slowly and not hard - otherwise it'll stretch. If you have a blow dryer close by, you can heat up the vinyl to loosen the adhesive and also relax the vinyl back, before you re-smooth it down. dBrand had some application videos from what I remember and they were really helpful. I have used this case for several years and can confirm that it eventually leaves these marks on your MacBook. They are not permanent and they wipe off.shall I be worried about tomtoc case?
Once applied, the thickness of the skin is barely noticeable and doesn’t add any undue thickness to the MBP. Going by memory, the skin is slightly thicker than contact paper and more rigid.Good to know.. Also, odes it add to the overall thickness of the Mac itself? I'm assuming no, but want to be careful to not be shut out of the case I'm wanting to put it in, when that case is released.

@bradl - putting a rigid case on top of the skin may be a little much. The skin is gonna be maybe 1-1.5mm thicker, so don‘t be surprised if your cover has a hard time snapping on (or doesn’t). I wouldn’t force it. Also, if I were doing this - I would really decide one way (either case or skin) or the other, but not both. If you like the look of the skin on the laptop, why cover it with a case? I do use a leather padded sleeve if I want to transport it out of the house (sfbags/waterfield Vero Sleeve) and the skinned laptop fits in side. I also plan on using Apple’s Leather Sleeve (delivers this Friday 🤞) - but maybe in a padded laptop bag or compartment since the Apole sleeve is really just a sheath of leather.Once applied, the thickness of the skin is barely noticeable and doesn’t add any undue thickness to the MBP. Also consider heat buildup. This skin will add a minor bit to heat retention, but added with a case, it may be warmer than you expect.
Agreed…It’ll be real sharp! Congrats on your new MBP - I’m following along all day with you and everyone there. Between the iPhone 13 and AW S7 and now MBPs, it’s been a seriously entertaining pre-order and launch month+. Cheers!Oh, I agree, and to be honest, I'm not putting a hard case on the Mac. My choice of case is actually the BookBook for Mac case by TwelveSouth:
I currently have this on my mid-2011 13" MBA, which works great. So I'm not worried about heat on this, but just if a skin like dbrand will add thickness to it to the point where it would be too thick for the case. It doesn't appear so, so I should be in good shape.

Edit: I may have to look at the Bookbook cases, too. Digging it!
So that it is great news! I hope it is really soI have used this case for several years and can confirm that it eventually leaves these marks on your MacBook. They are not permanent and they wipe off.
Depends on the brand. I used the Mosh IGlaze for my 16inch for over a year and I had no problems. It's also 65 bucks for the Moshi. However, its well worth it to protect your investment. Very easy installation and removal. Also it was mint when I sold my 16inch I9.Is there any danger regarding macbook pro screen,
to losing its form, by the placement and use for years, of an external hard case/shell?
Good choice. I have the same for my 2019 model. Best sleeve ever, super protective.Nice, thank you for the recommendation, I'll get one of those.
