Is there any room for the Macbook to slide around inside it?
There is a small amount of space, but it’s minimal. I prefer that to a super tight, hard to insert/remove case. A comfortable amount, if that makes sense.
The attached photo is of the laptop standing on end, so gravity is holding it up against the inside base of the sleeve/case.
For me, this is perfect, as I intend on adding a hard shell case to the laptop, which will add some bulk.

Anyone ordered a Joli Originals sleeve? The website indicates shipping to start from mid-November.

Just received the shipping notification yesterday! Added a wallet last minute and Harold was kind enough to add it in after the shipping label was generated. Looking forward to receive the items.

Just received my ibenzer case. It made no claims of being highest quality, but shows the advantage of being a small 3rd party company. They can get a desired product out fast to meet demand.

I like the feel of the case. It's plastic, but not the hard shiny cheap plastic. It's sort of like what if some smart employee at Tupperware said, "Hey has anyone considered if we should make cases?"

I really do like the smooth matte finish touch. Yes it's plastic, but it feels good to hold.

Now I can get on with an important part of all of my Apple products, the sticker bombing.

You're missing a set of Route 66 stickers. Joplin, Vinita, OK, Winslow (you need to get that Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona), and Kingman should work.. oh, and you absolutely need Radiator Springs. ?

I also purchased this but haven’t installed it yet. I see some are complaining about the hinge. Due to the more round structure of the M1 max, it seems that the whole hinge and back corners of the MacBook are exposed with the ibenzer. Can we see a picture of that? Also, for those interested, mosiso has preorders available. It appears that the hinge and back corners are also fully exposed.

Not sure how any of those would be comic / manga / work related for me. The stickers are for my geekery for anything comics, manga, videogames, Hawaii, Japan, JDM, Garage kits, or Bruce Lee / Jim Kelly related. You're taking me waaaay out of my wheelhouse with those suggestions. :p

I did leave out my Ken Block stickers though.

Yes, the back is completely exposed. I imagined that's done with a lot of early cases for Apple products, they will err on the side of caution, and not cover areas they aren't sure of the clearance. Later products made after companies have had a product for awhile, seem to cover more.

I didn't worry about that, since for the cover is for sticker bombing the lid, and to prevent scratching on the bottom on various surfaces.

Remember the importance here for a few of us, is wanting a case, ANY case as soon as possible. When the selection of cases improves ( and probably costs more ), I'll be looking at other options. For now, this is my option, and it meets the needs I ask of it for now.

Other notes:

Comes with a keyboard cover. Which I already had.

It does add to the bulk ever so slightly, so it's a super snug fit now in the Tomtoc sleeve.

You just reminded me of seeing all of those bumper stickers on cars that have been on many a road trip, which is why I brought up Route 66. ?

Nah.

Just a tradition among friends to sticker bomb your Apple products, to give them a little individuality & share a little identity.

I've always been envious of DJ friends who slap a sticker from wherever they go, as a record of where their Macs have travelled.

Yes, I figured that was the issue. The mosiso also used a similar structure. However, some brands are living a little more dangerously. https://www.amazon.com/Se7enline-Compatible-MacBook-Frosted-Keyboard/dp/B09LHLBYN3/ref=mp_s_a_1_39?crid=33SOCQD60L6SY&keywords=macbook+pro+2021+hard+shell+16&qid=1637980564&sprefix=macbook+pro+2021+hard+shell+16,aps,77&sr=8-39
This seems to protect the back corners and part of the hinge. If anyone wants to try this one out please post your experience. Never heard of this brand. I’ve only ever used ibenzer and moshi iglaze.

Been rocking the "Ibenzer" case for a maybe two weeks now. When I received it, it had NO ibenzer logo anywhere, just some generic knock-off branding called "My Gadget"--but it looks like yours, including the "hinge" exposure. Oddly, it's not on the Ibenzer store. I also can't find it on Amazon anymore, where I bought it. Suspicious. Here's the packaging:

IMG_5053.jpg

Is that what yours came in?

After browsing multiple ads that looked oddly similar to the Ibenzer one, I'm convinced either Ibenzer lended it's name to some third-party company briefly to get these out quick, OR they were knock-offs.

After two weeks, I don't recommend the "Frost" color. It suffers from weird discoloration just from carrying it around--I'm cleaning the case more than I did when the laptop was naked!

This was just to get SOMETHING on there until kevlar protections came out.

I also have “My Gadget” on the plastic sleeve. However, it says Ibenzer inside the cellophane. It also says it was shipped by Ibenzer. I’m not sure if it’s a knock off.

We definitely have the same one. But it's weird it's not on the Ibenzer main website -- and the Ibenzer ad on Amazon had similar verbage to the "USEWILL" ad or this other one from "CISSOOK." (now not available).

I'm not saying it's a "fraud" thing, just that no one had the molds early in the MBP M1 release and maybe some companies temporarily lent their brand to to the only Chinese company that already had the molds and production ready, just to get some product out.

I've got the "UESWILL" case coming in a couple weeks, I'll see if it's similar.

I see what you mean. Very strange. I’m curious if it’s comparable to the mosiso.

Mine came with no packaging. Just wrapped in clear plastic, with iBenzer installation instructions inside.

I still see the listing for the one I brought though.

My Joli Originals sleeve and cable wrap have arrived! I was so glad Jolien and Harold brought back the blue-and-red combo. The leather was even softer and more supple than the previous one I bought.

Edit: Gosh, sorry for the terrible lighting!

Edit 2: The laptop compartment for the Stuart & Lau Cary briefcase does accommodate the 14” + Joli Originals sleeve. Now I can use the briefcase as a laptop bag again!

Thanks for the info. It looks like someone reviewed the mosiso on Amazon. Looks very strange. Also has an exposed back.

It looks like you’re on to something. They just released the neon party one. I’m buying it and I’ll report back, but so far I’m seeing a more supportive hard shell with some protection on the corners.

Interesting. That just popped up, and it is almost twice the price of the “frost.” Looking forward to seeing what you think.

Well, from what I hear is the neon party is superior to the Amazon variant. It’s the retail version, sold at Best Buy, b&h photo, adorama, ect. I may wait for it to arrive in stores. Not sure about the ibenzer.com return policy.

Just got the "UESWILL" Amazon case -- MUCH earlier than expected. Letting the plastic smell air out first, but first impression -- virtually identical to the Amazon "Ibenzer" frost case I already have. Will likely return one, if possible. They did give a few more "freebies" with this one, including a microfiber cloth + more sticky "feet" to put on the bottom of the case, which I appreciate.

But build quality seems thin and not very protective, like the Ibenzer. It's really just to prevent scratches, which is fine for the moment.
