Has anybody bought the Woolnut Sleeve for the 2021 MacBook Pro 16"? If yes, how does it fit? I cannot get a straight answer from the company itself. They currently market the sleeve to fit the 2019-2021 16".

My new case just arrived from Etsy for the 14-inch. It's glorious.
How does it protect around the back/edges? Tons of photos on Etsy show no images of its fit around the corners, back, etc. I’m hoping it has better protection than the generic Amazon cases, especially considering the Etsy cases are 3x more expensive…

Bummed.

I bought this case thinking it was going to fit PERFECTLY (the size that says snug fit for new 13" MBP). Checked the dimensions on the site prior to purchasing and it had a few inches of cushion, at least from the numbers. Got the case and "tight" is an understatement. The other ones (For 13.3-14" or For MacBookPro 14") seemed way too big so those weren't even an option.

Also bought this:
The 12.5-13 variant. Was a bit too loose and chunky for my taste.

I'm now looking at the Neo Sleeve from SFBags but there is a scathing review stating that the customer thinks the stitching along the seams is rubbing against the MacBook finish and damaging it.

ARGH. Any recs on a nice slim, form fitting sleeve? Preferably not leather and without zippers?

I doubt the neo sleeve is scratching a MacBook since none of the sleeve materials have a higher Mohrs hardness than aluminum, probably residual fibers on the inside that are rubbing off and sticking to the corners.

How flexible it is?
I saw the video on their site and it does not seem very flexible to me.
I mean, from something made of leather, I would expect something to resemble like a cloth and not like an inflexible plastic.

Hi all!
Like many, I am looking for a fairly simple sleeve or case. My big requirements are that it fits the A2442 (2021 14”), has some padding, is not leather, and doesn’t reek of chemicals.
I’ve read through many posts here and haven’t found the thing. Tips welcome!

highly recommend this: SF Bags Neoprene
I've had it since they came out and it's just really nice.

Found this case and really like it. My 16" fits perfectly (you can get one for the 14" also) and I can also fit my new iPad Air into one of the slots and other items if needed.

After purchasing a new MacBook Pro M1 MAX 64Gb 8Tb for £6,000 I wanted a case that would really protect my laptop. Ideally something like the Pelicase 1095 but unfortunately they don't have a model that is large enough for the new 16" MBP. I searched and searched and I'm talking probably over 12 hours searching, but had no luck (irrespective of price).

Finally rather than getting a military grade case I opted for the best one that I could use at home. I found this 15.6" case one which fitted perfectly and proved to be excellent. The materials are top quality, waterproof as well and internal material is soft and plush with the handle strongly sewed in. Plus it looks stylish in the grey and orange version. Other variants include pink and a black one as well. Price was £12.05 or ($15.94). I found it here.

The only concern I have is with the fact there is a zip slider on the side pocket (you can see it in the first photo). My concern is if something was placed on top of this it could press through and damage the metal lid or base of the MBP. So I simply removed it. However, the two case zip sliders, that are used to open and close the case, are protected from scraping the sides of the MBP with a tongue wrap binding - you can see it in the second photo. Note there is a second pocket on the other side which closes with velcro (see photo 3). Personally I only use the pocket(s) for a sheet or two of paper... nothing that could damage the MBP inside if pressed down in some way.

This looks good. However, I would remove the zip slider from the side pocket to avoid the risk of it denting the MBP should one accidentally put something heavy on the case or when the zip slider is underneath pressing down on the case from above.

Had anyone used the Peak Design Everyday Backpack V2 with the 2021 16”? Considering buying one but would love to know how it fits.
I had the backpack before buying the laptop and was worried about this - ended up fitting perfectly - no issues at all.

Why are sleeves heavily favored over cases for the Macbook?

Perhaps I use mine differently but I'd be taking it in and out of the sleeve 20 times a day whereas a case doesn't take any extra effort.

I know sleeves are easier to mass produce than cases but there's never been many cases produced for the Macbooks.

There has been a lot of talk here about hard cases damaging the MacBooks. So, I think that is part of why some prefer a sleeve. I sort of still want a case but haven't found one I really like for the 14" unfortunately.

Does it have any chemical smell? My spouse picked one up on Amazon (I'm not sure if it was this brand) and the chemical smell was so strong that it made me feel nauseous, even after airing out for a week!
