I think that might just be an individual faulty case that doesn't fit.

We had ordered both black and clear cases. The black bottom case didn't go on properly; the clear one slid on fine.

All the videos I've looked at show the bottom case simply snapping on, not sliding.

Really, if 10 tries doesn't do it, they did the right thing with the refund.

There are some great, if expensive, hard cases in this thread that no doubt would work better instead. And more coming... all too late, I realize. I'm glad to have the temporary use Mosiso though until a really nice hard case is available.

When you slide the case from the bottom to the top(The clips being put on at the end Im assuming) on the sides where the ports are, if you try lifting it will it lift up or is it firmly attached? What is weird is that the top of the case is absolutely perfect zero issues and Ive bought from this company before when I had the 2018 macbook pro that is why I went with them again..I got the pink case with them, the chalk pink..he sent me a replacement chalk pink case plus he sent me a replacement bottom case in clear color not sure why but he did..yeah in the past Ive never had to slide in anything before, just pop it on you hear the snaps and thats it(In fact even now when I connect it I hear the snap but on the sides of the bottom case you can still pretty easily lift it if you wanted to its not a secure snug fit)

Picked up a Woolnut Leather folio for my 16". Fits well, isn't very thick at all, but looks quite nice. Amazon has them right now for $169. Woolnut's site: https://www.woolnut.com/shop/laptops/mbpro16/mb-16-folio-black/
Can I ask how the zipper is especially when you go around the corners? I have the tech organiser and find the zipper a bit hard to open. Also would you have a photo of the inside? Just wanted to see how big the inside pockets are.

The old 13" MacBook Pro (2013) bookbook cover fits the new MacBook Pro 14" perfectly. I was lucky that i kept the old cover until the new one is released.
Any chances you could provide some pics?

Might hunt down the old version instead of waiting for the new one.

The Helm is very nice. Had mine for about two years. Excellent protection. Since the 2021 model wasn’t available, I went with Glitty. Very pleased with this one as well.
I have had my eyes on the Glitty case too. I love the blue and appreciate them leaving the apple logo. Can you share what the lining is like inside the case?

It seems like most sleeves now lack top flaps, leaving the computer exposed (Waterfield neoprene, for example). I don't really understand this trend, because this is obviously less protective and it certainly can't be too burdensome to open a flap to remove the computer from the sleeve. It seems like a decision to just reduce material to save production costs to me. With an old MacBook, I used to have a really nice, thick neoprene sleeve with an insulating faux-fur lined interior with a velcro flap to close it. No zipper. I loved it, and it protected the MacBook really well. I have searched around, and I can't find anything like this available for the new MacBook Pro 16." All the sleeves I can find now either lack a top closure flap, are made out of thin, cheap neoprene, or lack any extra padding. Does anyone know of such a sleeve?

Sfbags makes the sleeve case which is exactly what you are looking for. Thick neoprene. Soft velvety lining inside. Velcro flap in landscape or portrait orientation. You can get it in waxed canvas or black nylon.

I think the trend for no flap is because most people want to put their MacBook in another bag and don’t want it to get scratched up. It’s less bulky. Cheaper too. For my MacBook Air is use the Apple leather sleeve because I wanted the lightest, thinnest sleeve and it just needs to protect from scratches. For my 16” I have a bag with a built in sleeve so I don’t use a separate sleeve.

I had an Incase plastic shell for my 2015 MBP 13". It was built so well, I didn't have to baby it.
When I went to sell the Mac I got top dollar because it was in mint condition.

I've been patiently waiting for another Incase (or high-er end brand) solution for my 14". The Amazon 3rd party cases don't look so good and lots of negative reviews.

Someone recently recommended the Rickshaw Flap sleeve recently in this thread. I wanted a flap, no zippers, no leather as my other bags are nylon (Bellroy system messenger and desk pouch). Sleeves with closures have been limited to date vs 2019 16” versions.

I purchased the Rickshaw Flap sleeve for my 2021 MBP 16” and is also available for the 2021 MBP 14”. There’s also a no flap sleeve, but that’s not what you’re asking about.

I prefer the nylon of the Rickshaw sleeve. The flap is secured by velcro. It fits my 2021 MBP like a glove, just enough friction and easy to put in sleeve or remove.

I tried multiple sleeves prior including the Native Union Stow Lite. Either the sleeve didn’t fit to my satisfaction, felt cheap or the zippers were at risk of scratching my MBP.

Hey guys,
It looks like a full body protection hard case was released. It’s from supcase. I’m still waiting for the moshi and sticking with the ibenzer for now, but does anyone want to give it a try? It looks like it makes the MacBook Pro more bulky.

Many thanks @DoorsFreak87 for posting this. I have been searching for a case that

Requirement
1) Covers top and bottom. Allows me to use a 16" 2021 M1 Max MBP with the case on
2) Adds edge protection

Sit rep for this type of case:

=== Available Now

1) SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series Case (as of 2022 01 18)
(Available on Amazon linked by @DoorsFreak87)

2) IBENZER Hard Shell Case with Keyboard Cover
@DoorsFreak87 any downsides of this case from your usage so far?

3) ???
None others that fulfill requirement 1) and 2) above

4) ???
Somewhere in this massive thread I saw a leather case that fulfills requirement 1) but not 2)
But I can't find it now. Can anyone remember?

=== In progress, not available now

1) Pad & Quill's case
Used to be available. Now it is out of stock for M1 MBP.
When I used Pad & Quill's case on an earlier MBP, it worked great:
My arm was in a cast, I dropped the MBP onto tile just from sitting distance. This case's corner did crumple.
But the corner of my screen and bottom were fine; it showed a scratch.

2) Twelve South's case
Not yet available. The bonus of this case is that it zips up. Zip-Up adds protection from stuff going into the ports when in the backpack. Like the design.

3) Moshi's case
Not yet available. Their other models provide clear top and bottom protection.
Thank you for heads-up @DoorsFreak87.

4) UAG's case
"impact-resistant airsoft corner bumpers that shield against drops and dents. A clean transparent look with dot pattern detail for an easy grip and to prevent scratches or scuffs."
Thank you for heads-up @cakebytheocean.

5) ???

Any others in progress that you know about?

My situation: My maxed out M1 MBP 16" arrives mid-February. Need to find something soon.

I would like to see more photos of these cases.
Just one photo in the official product page?
I want to have a better idea about them.

Agreed. At first I thought the corners looked cut out from the rest of the case (not protected)
But from the description they are air cushions.

Looks like more pictures are not available. Unless... Pics are available for a different model MBP elsewhere on the site.

Edit: Yep. Look at the 13" or 15" to see the probable design

Based on the 15", the UAG case will add ~ 1 lb to the new MBP 16"

Weight
15.5 oz

Just ordered this for my incoming 14"
Have been using one on my 2016 MBP since shortly after I got the MBP, and it has stood the test of time.

Also have a referral code for 20% off.. so, feel free to let me know if you want one for cheaper...

I just ordered the Glitty case in blue for my new 16 inch. I was considering going with Andar, but they don't have one for the 16 inch yet. I also looked at Vaja cases, but I couldn't justify spending that much.

I ordered the Glitty case on the 6th and haven't heard anything back other than an order confirmation. They said up to 3 weeks so I'm giving them some time.

I had Vaja case for the 1st gen iPad and it was incredibly nice. I’d absolutely do it if you’re a fan of body shells and leather and feel that you’ll stick with the machine or size for the long haul (ie. Get at least 3 years or so out of it).

Personally I’m not a fan of covering a Mac laptop up as I like the industrial design so I’m hoping to get a nice leather sleeve, awaiting the Nomad which is a similar price to the Vaja case/sleeve.

Just had a look at their website. Again the case does not cover the back of the MBP like other brands before it.
