2.5 months later and I still like it a lot. It’s neoprene with a little patch of top grain leather (I believe hand made).

I’ve put silly stickers on it and is a little dirty from traveling with me a bunch, but, still.

Feels quite protective and the loops on the side are helpful when taking the MBP in and out. Yes, grip and fit is good.

Downside would be that it seems to attract dog hair a good bit….but that’s a problem in my home anyway ?

Thank you! Does it seem like it provides good protection?

There has been a lot of talk here about hard cases damaging the MacBooks. So, I think that is part of why some prefer a sleeve. I sort of still want a case but haven't found one I really like for the 14" unfortunately.
I only saw a post or two about "damaging"--but many more about how the options right now are a joke and no more protective than a loose rag. I had a Mosiso hard shell case on my MB Air for years and it still looks brand new with no issues. Unfortunately, there is only one factory making the MBP Pro 2021 cases and all the so-called "reputable" suppliers are outsourcing through them.

I ordered what looks to be a better option on Etsy that a member earlier recommended. Will report back if it seems of greater quality than the garbage hard shells on Amazon available now.

HEY! That's what I ordered. It's an amazing case and feels great to the touch.

My Joli Originals sleeve came in the other day, and I really love it! Highly recommend it if anyone is in the market for a leather sleeve. Good quality leather, great stitching, nice quality wool felt inside, and fairly tight so it doesn't slip out.

Oh thanks! I saw that one on Etsy and it looked like it had some promise.

Curious to hear thoughts on Andar's The Helm case. Made of leather with vents and it is the only case I have found that has microfiber lining so maybe it helps prevent scratches that case skeptics talk about. Their Twitter suggested an end-of-December launch for the new Macbooks but it hasn't come yet. My only concern is how long-term use will affect the MBP's hinges.

The Helm is very nice. Had mine for about two years. Excellent protection. Since the 2021 model wasn’t available, I went with Glitty. Very pleased with this one as well.

I ordered one a month ago for my 14" and received it two weeks ago. Blue with red lining. Made my decision from an earlier posting here. Fit and finish are superb. Top quality in all regards and the leather has lots of character. The computer is held firmly and is well protected. I have yet to see a photo that does Joli justice as in real life the colours really pop out.

Vaja announced the latest MBP leather cases and sleeves. I don’t have experience with Vaja’s cases/sleeves beyond iPad and iPhones. Their leather and craftsmanship have always been excellent quality.

The 2021 MBP 14” is a pre-order, but the 16” is available now.

Damn. Those look amazing and I love my Vaja iPhone 13 pro case too. Just decided that Macrumors's forums are too expensive for me! (Orders custom $323.00 14" MacBook Pro case). Thanks for posting. Thanks a LOT! lol /s

Has anybody bought the Woolnut Sleeve for the 2021 MacBook Pro 16"? If yes, how does it fit? I cannot get a straight answer from the company itself. They currently market the sleeve to fit the 2019-2021 16".

I received my Woolnut 2021 MBP 16" sleeve a few weeks ago, and it's very fitted. The first time I tried to put the MBP into the sleeve, it was tight though I imagine the leather will stretch over time. The length of the sleeve with the MBP inside it is fairly close to flush to the edge of the MBP.

This is the one I bought: https://www.woolnut.com/shop/laptops/mbpro16/mb-pro-16-m-black/

Why are sleeves heavily favored over cases for the Macbook?

Perhaps I use mine differently but I'd be taking it in and out of the sleeve 20 times a day whereas a case doesn't take any extra effort.

I know sleeves are easier to mass produce than cases but there's never been many cases produced for the Macbooks.
Sleeves feel nicer to hold than a case. Also a sleeve won’t advertise that I’m carrying an expensive MacBook around. I also think they offer more protection from dust, or god forbid, it takes a tumble from a hard brake.
I’m curious why you would be taking your MacBook out 20 times a day but perhaps you are going to classes?
I only use a sleeve if I’m going to a restaurant or for coffee and it’s just something to protect it while it’s sitting on the car seat next to me and on the short trek through the parking lot to my table. Rest of the time it’s being used or it’s on my desk overnight just sitting there on a charger. Really only use a sleeve once or twice a week. I have a nice SF waterfield bag for going to my office and back home during the week. I use a windows machine for work so my MacBook is just for personal stuff, to kill time at work. I’m kinda fortunate that my job is super laid back and the owner is semi-retired (and only comes to the office twice a month to cut some checks), so I run the business for him and most days my total work I need to do each day only takes an hour or so. I’d be bored to tears if I didn’t have my MacBook with me, lol.

Ordered one also after reading your comment! Thanks for the nice tip, I wasn't able to find a good sleeve for my new MacBook, but this looks lovely!

Hi, I don't know if this has been figured out since this was posted, but the bottom case slides on rather than snaps on.

There's a small visual/graphic instruction sheet that comes with the package. Yes I RTFM after figuring this out :/

I got this case for my 14 inch macbook pro

For whatever reason not sure if Im doing something wrong, but I can get the front of the case on easy peasy fits perfectly but the back of the case, one side snaps while the other side doesnt so it just comes right off not sure what Im doing wrong

For those who have purchased the mosiso case how easy or hard is it to put on/take off the case? Any chance the clips can scratch the laptop when taking the case off?

Yeah I still have not been able to figure it out..when you say slide it on..do you mean from the bottom(where the macbook is open) and you slide it towards the top and then the clips attach?) yeah Ive even tried it that way and still on the sides of the macbook(where the connector ports are located) you can easily lift it on both sides so not sure what Im doing wrong..the company ended up giving me a full refund for the case because I told them the truth that I cant get the darn thing attached right so he gave me a refund, am still able to keep the case which was super nice of them Is there a way you can post a video or something on how to put on the bottom case cause its driving me bananas I think Ive tried maybe 10+ times to do it and the sides are just not secure

I think that might just be an individual faulty case that doesn't fit.

We had ordered both black and clear cases. The black bottom case didn't go on properly; the clear one slid on fine.

All the videos I've looked at show the bottom case simply snapping on, not sliding.

Really, if 10 tries doesn't do it, they did the right thing with the refund.

There are some great, if expensive, hard cases in this thread that no doubt would work better instead. And more coming... all too late, I realize. I'm glad to have the temporary use Mosiso though until a really nice hard case is available.
