Anyone know if the clear tech 21 case would fit over a skin like fish skin or dbrand… or if it would be too thick toallow the case to fit right on one of the new MacBook pros
I have the Incase Hardshell case for my Macbook Pro 16" 2021 along with Dbrand skin on the top, bottom, palm rest and trackpad. So far the Incase fits okay but it is not fully snapped to the body of the Macbook pro, there is a little gap for it to fully snap and hug the macbook
I had this kind of similar setup for my previous macbook pro 13" and the Incase hardshell case snaps fully to th macbook pro even with the dbrand skins.

pics of the supcase.
To sum things up, its a tank! definitely adds some weight to an already heavy monster. but I tell you what, I have a skin on the top and bottom of my MacBook and this thing still clips in pretty damn good, does feel decent quality. I will say, save yourself some money and get it from Aliexpress, its the same thing as the one on Amazon, and amazon is charging quite a bit of an upcharge. It is definitely not one of those take on and off kinda of cases, if your going to get it, make sure you aren't thinking about taking this thing off everyday. Almost feels like your gonna break the laptop taking it off. pics with an iPad 11 inch inside of magic keyboard for comparison.
I received my supcase for the MacBook Pro 14 today, feels actually quite good, really sturdy and the clips as hold onto the laptop really well unlike the cheap generic cases where there isn’t any clips where the vents are!

Link to purchase https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P2WVS7...t_i_X6JNQ9W2DA6M7ASA394J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

And some photos attached!
Why has the bottom of the case got fake vent cut outs?

Did you felt the need to put a hard shell, even with dbrand skins?

I used hard shell in my previous mbp.

In my new one, for the first time I use dbrand skins, and they look magnificent.
I take care of my machines, so it is ok for scratches with these skins.
I don't think I will ever come back to use hard shells again.

The problem with Dbrand skins is that the sides are not protected. I know that it is a bit too much but it makes me more secure when carrying it

guys with experience with “hard shells” how’s the MacBooks body where the areas of hard shell are in contact with it ? I’m skeptical and believe these hard shells can sometimes cause more damage than good.

im seeing this same thing. was hoping I just had a bad case. top shell seems better than the bottom shell. will probably rip the skin off at least the bottom.

The incase hardshell clips are kind of soft and easy to remove, and i doubt that it will cause damage to the body. :)

Similar situation as mine, the top case is fine and firmly attached. It is the lower bottom shell, but the skin doesn't rip off since the incase clips fits fine on the edge

I've had experience with the supcase where it was too heavy for the top lid and gravity forces it to close when it's at a lower angle. Also it clipped on to the MBP pretty rigidly and it might damage internally if dropped. I returned it since it was just bulky as well.

Thanks, wonder if anyone makes a like a rubber type sleeve. You know similar to those Nintendo controller or TV remote control covers that are elasticated rubber type. Or at least a soft TPU type.

I wouldn't mind something like this, if it had a wrist rest which would allow the MacBook to be used in situ of being in the case.

One thing I haven't read about on here so I thought I'd ask. The top lid screen cover on the hard shells, do the clips on those encroach the fine rubber that goes around the front of the display?

I personally like the incase sleeves. They're simple and cheap and does the job! No need to spend $100+ on premium leather and wool, because that's going to help my protect my MacBook how??

I decided to get one yesterday from BB for $39.95, hoping that within the 30 day return/exchange policy incase will come out with a sleeve specific for the rMBP. The one below fits, but it's got a bit of slack. I needed one now, I've been paranoid since last week.

ehh, my thumb looks weird.
Love incase! Have used them for everything!

Hi, I just got my Macbook Pro 16". Can anyone recommend a sleeve? I prefer neoprene and alcantara, if possible without a zipper.
InCase are made with a zipper but very snug, won’t damage your Mac. They also have a cool backpack or carry case I’m enjoying using.

Does anyone have this sleevecase for 16 inch from waterfield?

Want to know if laptop will still fill in a backpack laptop pocket with this case on - specifically the peak design everyday back 2 (30l)

Thanks

Hmmm I’m honestly not sure. I don’t have either. InCase is really good at customer service and they answer really quickly. Either call or hit up on twitter. But the sleeve (back pack) is roomy.

Just a quick shout out to a UK based company, Ryan London, got myself a MacBook Pro 14” sleeve and an iPad Pro 11” sleeve from them and both fit perfect, had to have the iPad one custom made to fit the iPad and the folio case and it fits perfect!

Great quality genuine leather too, awesome company and fast delivery!

Plus you can have your initials imprinted on them too www.ryanlondon.com
