Looks great, mind to post some pics?
Here’s the MacBook and iPad sleeves, I am a bit plain and boring and went with black with no custom engraving…

That looks perfect.
They are perfect sizing, the company is not trying to pass off sleeves for other sized devices as being for newer devices.

With the iPad sleeve I contacted them first as they only had the option for the iPad on its own or with the magic keyboard case, but not the folio case, they just got me to measure the thickness with the folio on the device and custom made it to order, had delivery within 2 days.

Any issues fitting it in a backpack laptop compartment?
Sorry I keep mine at home as it is too heavy to carry around, instead I use my 13 inch MacBook pro, but I would expect it to fit in a backpack mo problem you could also contact Gary at Waterfield and he will provide you with the dimensions before you buy

Just got this El Cheapo iPapa Roach one and I must say I am pretty impressed. Can't fault it for the price. Didn't use the "free" screen protector nor keyboard membrane.

How secure are the attaching points? DO you feel any friction between the case and the aluminum?

Feels nice and tight fitment wise both upper and lower parts. Hope it doesn't damage the aluminum frame of the MBP, so for doubly safety measures I used 3/4" clear film paint protection door edging film around the areas of contact. I also went a bit OTT and covered some of the ports I don't use from dust 🤣

Similar situation as mine, the top case is fine and firmly attached. It is the lower bottom shell, but the skin doesn't rip off since the incase clips fits fine on the edge.

I have the opposite with the tech 21. Bottom is very secure with no gaps. The top case is a little weird. The hard shell doesn’t fully cover the top lid and aluminum slightly sticks out. Almost looks like it was installed improperly. I’m not sure if this could be an issue down the road but the bottom case is excellent. I may have to sell this if the moshi iglaze is better when it’s finally released.

Is anyone going to try out the tech21 evo case? I decided to return it as I’m having an issue with the slight exposure of the aluminum on the top case. The ibenzer at least fully protected the top of the case with no slight exposure of the aluminum chassis. Is anyone having any issues with the incase dot case? If so, I’m just going to return to my ibenzer until the moshi is released.

I have this hardcase on my new 16" M1BP and it's pretty good. Top and bottom are securely attached, but still easy to remove. To be frank, I didn't do much comparison shopping. I just searched for a matte-finish hardcase because it feels nicer in my hand than gloss/smooth plastic.

Yeah this is the same one that has multiple names and is sold all over Amazon. Fingerprint magnets for sure.

A good way to minimize fingerprints is.... cleaning it.

Or get a darker color.
Unfortunately no.

With many of these covers released, it doesn't matter what color you purchased. They seem to attract fingerprints anywhere, looking like you touched them just after getting fingerprinted. Constant cleaning doesn't help much either.

It's become an indicator of what was an early M1 Macbook Pro case release, compared to some later ones.

Dark colors hide fingerprints better, but that's literally true for everything.

Just cleaned mine...finegrprints gone, and I'll probably clean it tomorrow or the day after to remove those fingerprints. I don't have unrealistic expectations that a plastic thing I handle multiple times a day will remain fingerprint-free.

In my experience the smooth plastic ones show fewer fingerprints but they show scratches more. The ones where you can have a photo custom printed also hide fingerprints well.

I like the way the matte surface feels.

I have two early MBP cases smoke & matte that show differently. Once you've gotten fingerprints on them, you're pretty much fingerprinted by your own device. Which was a common complaint here in this thread and early reviews. I don't think it was an accident you couldn't get a plain white case. You could even get fingerprints on the inside of the case when taking the plastic off if you weren't careful.

I don't doubt your experiences, but the experiences of others here and early reviews are the reason many of us waited impatiently for the big companies to finally offer their versions as an alternative.

Apple finally have an Incase sleeve for the 14" and 16" up on their website today if you like me have been waiting for one. Not showing as shipping till May for me here in the UK though.

They are also on Incase's site.

I've had experience with the supcase where it was too heavy for the top lid and gravity forces it to close when it's at a lower angle. Also it clipped on to the MBP pretty rigidly and it might damage internally if dropped. I returned it since it was just bulky as well.
With the supcase, are the sides of the top case chassis exposed or does the top lid completely cover the top case? I’m returning my tech 21 since the aluminum is exposed on the sides of the top case.

Anyone else waiting for an iGlaze Moshi case for the MBP 14" like i am? I am still looking for an alternative since their Twitter mentions that they have plans on releasing accessories for newer MBPs, but no date as of now.
I emailed them and they have no set release date. I unfortunately can’t find an alternative myself as I don’t want a case that doesn’t fully cover the sides of the top case. Exposed aluminum on the sides of the top case can lead to problems.

Just got the hard shell case from Incase. It definitely feels much better protected than the plastic ones that showed up on Amazon in the beginning. It adds a lot of weight though!

Are the sides of the top case exposed like the tech21 and UAG or does the top lid fully cover the aluminum on the top case?

Did you look at the photos?
I mean it’s hard to tell as there’s no pics on the side of the MacBook. The tech21 was difficult to make out in the pics on apple’s website as it looked like it just the lining of aluminum(similar to some iPhone cases), but it’s full exposure of the sides of the top case chassis.

There are at least three photos in jck1634's post that show the sides.
